Android 9 Pie update for LG G7 and LG V40 is one of the most sought-after updates of the year for the users of the before-mentioned devices. Although the Korean firm LG has not been exceptionally punctual regarding the updates it rolled out, after the release of Android 8 Oreo for some of its handsets, the firm promised to launch following patches at a slightly faster pace.
Android 9 Pie to come to LG G7 ThinQ and LG V40
Now, LG G7 ThinQ and LG V40 would be the first to benefit from the Android 9 Pie update. These models are two of the Korean company’s flagships, so it’s not surprising that these are the ones chosen for the deployment of the new upgrade.
The first to receive the expected Android 9 Pie update will be the LG G7 ThinQ. The company has launched a public beta program in Korea which commenced yesterday and is open to any LG G7 ThinQ user who wants to enter into the program, regardless of the mobile phone operator they work with.
Currently, LG runs a beta program to test the Android 9 Pie update for LG G7 and LG V40
With this beta program, LG wants to detect and solve the bugs and errors that may exist in the Android 9 Pie update for LG G7 before the upgrade rolls out to a broader public. Samsung has done the same with the upgrade to Android 9 Pie for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus.
At the moment, the company did not disclose when the Android 9 Pie update for LG G7 ThinQ and LG V40 would come out, depending on how long the beta program will last and what bugs the testers will find. Thus, it can be expected that Android 9 Pie for LG G7 and LG V40 would start landing on these smartphones between late December and early January.
