Now, approximately two years after it rolled out, Pokemon Go will finally permit players to switch teams. However, that option is not going to be free. Niantic announced that it would add a new item called Team Medallion to the Pokemon Go in-game shop, which would make it possible for the gamers to change their teams once a year.
Pokemon Go To Allow Players To Switch Teams
Team Medallion would go live on February 26th and would cost 1,000 PokeCoins. That’s quite a fair price, overall, since 1,200 PokeCoin cost $10. But choose wisely before using Team Medallion because once you use it, you’ll not be able to buy a new one and change your team again for one year.
After a new player begins playing Pokemon Go, the game would ask him/her to join one of the three teams in the game – Mystic, Instinct, and Valor. These teams are governed by Legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and, respectively, Moltres. Until February 26th, it would be impossible for players to switch sides, but, as soon as Team Medallion goes live, gamers can change their team.
Pokemon Go Also Received The Recently Announced Snapshot AR Photo Mode
In other news, Niantic added the recently announced Pokemon Go Snapshot AR Photo Mode. This one permits players to snap any of the Pokemon monsters they have in storage and share those pics with friends via social media.
Besides, we’ll have another busy weekend in Pokemon Go. Between today, February 22nd, and up till February 25th, Niantic returned the Gen 3 Legendary Pokemon Latias for a special Raid Weekend. Also, on February 23rd, tomorrow, a new Pokemon Go Field Research time-limited event would commence, allowing players to capture Clamperl that comes to Pokemon Go for the first time.
In short, Pokemon Go will finally permit players to switch teams via the new Team Medallion item which would come out on February 26th and would cost 1,000 PokeCoins.
