With spring finally making an appearance and everything turning green, Niantic Labs wasn’t going to miss on the occasion! They’re celebrating the rebirth of nature with a new event that will focus on Oddish, a Grass-type Pokémon.
Pokemon Go Equinox Event: Schedule, Rewards, Shinies!
No matter what you like to do in Pokemon Go, there are different things out there. Let’s see what you should expect during the Pokemon Go Equinox Event.
The Equinox event will have Grass-type Pokemon spawn a lot more often than before, so expect to see Oddish, Exeggcute, Shroomish, and Sunkern in the world. We will also see some shinies, changes to the raids and trainer battles, research tasks and more.
Schedule
The Equinox Event starts Tuesday, March 19 at 4 p.m. EST, and will end on March 26 at 4 p.m. EST.
We mentioned that Oddish will appear in the game and that we will see some shinies. Niantic didn’t confirm whether Shiny Oddish will make an appearance during the event, and the photo of the Pokemon only reveals the regular Gen 1 Grass and Poison-type Pokémon.
Oddish and its evolutions didn’t come in Shiny versions in Pokémon Go, but maybe the rare version will come during this event. The Shiny Oddish has a Green color instead of the blue one.
Research Tasks and Rewards
The event’s research tasks can be obtained from PokeStops, and the rewards should be the Grass-type Pokémon.
Switching Pokemon
Solrock and Lunatone from the Hoenn region will shift their spawning habitat during this event: Lunatone is now in West, and Solrock in East, but when the event will begin, they will swap places so that trainers can catch them both. After the event finishes, the two will remain in the new habitats.
Raids and Bosses
Expect to see Bosses in raids be replaced with Grass-type Pokémon.
New Moves For Your Pokemon
We will also see new moves: Acid Spray (Poison-type) and Leaf Tornado (Grass-type), both moves that can be learned by Poison-type and Grass-type Pokemon:
Acid Spray move: Arbok, Victreebel, Tentacruel, Muk, Alolan Muk, Quagsire, Qwilfish, Octillery, Swalot.
Leaf Tornado move: Shiftry, Victreebel.
