Samsung Galaxy S10 Comes with a Biometric Feature and New Improvements

The hype around Samsung’s S10 is getting bigger and bigger as days go by. Yes, it is true that there is still a long time to go before the South Korean company is going to unveil this phone but, as it always happens with the release of a new phone, some information is bound to slip by, indicating to the users that the phone will have some state of the art feature or a different design.

When it comes to the Galaxy S10, fans are even readier to hear something about the leak since this phone marks a decade of Galaxy phones, one after the other having better and better features.

The biometric feature leak

Bell, a Korean Publisher, suggested that since the phone is bound to mark 10 years of greatness for the company with this range of phones then they just might use the 3D camera tech and apply it to a fingerprint sensor that will be incorporated into the display. This piece of tech has been in the works for some time, as some of you may know, and Qualcomm has already decided to present and it was also applied to a concept phone that came from Vivo.

If we take into consideration the fact that most companies are working on reducing the side of their phone’s bezels, Samsung being part of that group, this will allow the South Korean company to have the space needed to insert this biometric 3D fingerprint sensor.

Now if things go according to plan we may see the Samsung Galaxy S10 being launched right along with the Samsung Galaxy X, a smartphone that is supposed to be foldable. And if Galaxy X does well on the market then we may expect a future Galaxy S or Galaxy Note phone to become foldable as well.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) Comes with Android Oreo and New Features

Since Android Oreo came with a number of features that people have instantly fallen in love with it is expected that Samsung is going to slowly work to adapt their operating system to other phones that they have come up with and this time it looks like Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) is going to be on the receiving end of this update.

The Oreo update

The specific model that the company is targeting is the SM-A520F. Users from Russia have already reported that they have received the update this week. Since introducing such an update to a phone that is sold worldwide to a large number of users, it is expected that within a couple of weeks everyone that owns an A5 will receive the update notification for the Android 8.0 Oreo version.

Samsung Galaxy A5’s past

When the phone got introduced on the market back in January 2017, it came with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and it, later on, got the upgrade to the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. We think that the update to the Android 8.0 Oreo is going to be the last one in this series, with possible securities updates to follow in the next couple of months, as we have grown accustomed to.

Samsung has promised that phones that have been released from 2015 and up will receive two operating system upgrades and three years of security updates. And when it comes to the A5, it looks like they stayed true to their promise, with the first update being Android Nougat and the latest being Android Oreo. Now if they will also stick to their security patch update period then we can safely say that users of Samsung Galaxy A5 will be safe and sound from security threats up until 2020, after that it is their responsibility to protect their phones or upgrade to another one, if they so desire.

Play as Kratos, “God of War” with this GTA 5 mod

On April 20 we will have a chance to see Kratos in God of War. However, if you miss him already, you will be able to see him in Grand Theft Auto 5, thanks to a mod. This means that you can you use his godly powers in San Andreas.

The mod brings Kratos, as well as his abilities and weapons. You will be able to use the Blades of Chaos on the streets, and you will even be able to shoot fire and fly, which are all impressive advantages.

The Kratos mod

The mod is named Kratos – God of War III, and the developer behind it is Lê Tuấn Khải. Judging by the name of the mod it is easy to understand that the Kratos that is available in GTA 5 is the one from the third game. This means that you won’t see Kratos with a beard, the way he looks at the moment. Kratos was also modded to appear in other games, such as Metal Gear Solid 5, Fallout 4 and Skyrim.

This is not the first time Lê Tuấn Khải manages to bring some amazing mods to GTA 5. Previously, he added Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy, Killmonger and Black Panther, as well as Leona from Sudden Attack 2.

Mods are accepted

If you are worried that the developers behind Grand Theft Auto might have something against mods, you should know that modding is safe. Basically, modders were allowed to continue and there will be no legal consequences as long as the mods are single-player, non-commercial and respect the third-party IP rights.

Rockstar has even encouraged developers to continue to create: “Rockstar Games believes in reasonable fan creativity, and, in particular, wants creators to showcase their passion for our games.” Nonetheless, mods are still not accepted for multiplayer games and online services, and it is not hard to understand why.

A New 18:9 LG Q7 Phone is Expected To Be As Powerful As Possible

The United States Federal Communications Commission certified an LG smartphone earlier this week. The device has the model number LM-Q710TS, which led us to believe that this is the upcoming Q7 smartphone. This new information also came with some additional details which helped us get a better idea about the handset.

The display ratio

One of the first things that we learnt about the display panel is the fact that it will be an elongated one. The panel will have an aspect ratio of 18:9. This detail was revealed by the screenshot that was released. But we were able to discover other things as well.

System navigation buttons

One important thing about the screenshot is that we can see system navigation buttons that are placed on-screen. This means that there won’t be physical buttons for these, so we will won’t see a Home key on the upcoming phone, and there should not be any capacitive buttons either. This also means that the smartphone should be a slim one.

The Federal Communications Commission review

The fact that this device was submitted for review is quite important. It is very likely that there will be a stateside launch for this device. In some cases, the federal certification does not mean that the handset is going to be released in the United States and it might mean that the manufacturers are only trying to test them in the country.

Upcoming LG smartphone

The next LG Android flagship is supposed to be released on May 2, and this date was already confirmed by the company. LG is also supposed to be working on the LG V40 device. This handset should receive the code name “Storm” and we should see it at the end of the summer.

Facebook Facial Recognition Available in Europe Again

Facebook recently announced that they intend to bring facial recognition back in Europe. They had previously withdrawn this feature back in 2012 because several data privacy groups objected to it. Moreover, the social media network will make the feature available in Canada for the first time since its launch back in 2011.

The Official Announcement

This move was announced by Facebook through a blog post. The people responsible with the announcement were Deputy General Counsel Ashlie Beringer, together with the Chief Privacy Officer Erin Egan. The executives declared that for more than six years, they have been offering products that rely on face recognition all around the world. Now, as part of their latest update, they will give this chance to people in the EU and Canada as well.

But what does it do more exactly? This feature lets Facebook scan your photos and suggest some users you can tag in them. Facebook underlined the fact that this feature will be optional, not compulsory.

More Changes

However, this isn’t the only change Facebook plans to implement soon. Next month, they want to introduce some sweeping data protection rules, called the General Data Protection Regulation in Europe. This will offer its users more choices related to data sharing, instead of automatically signing them up.

Even so, the availability of facial recognition is a controversial one for the platform. They are currently facing quite a lot of scandal regarding the way they are manipulating their users’ data. At the same time, the EU regulators declared they’re not satisfied with the way in which the feature complies with their data rules. In fact, on Monday, one of the federal judges in the US ruled that the social network will face a class action lawsuit. This relates to the fact that the app uses facial recognition on photos without the user’s permission.
