iOS 12 is less than two weeks away from the official launch, but new information today makes it clear that people waiting for jailbreak solutions should have a lot of patience.
According to a developer who also does IT security research, iOS 12 implements new security measures against jailbreak solutions. iOS 12 has many new hurdles placed by Apple to prevent the launch of public jailbreak solutions, but exploitation remains possible.
iOS 12 has already been jailbroken by some who have 0day exploits, which Apple does not know about, but the release of jailbreak solutions is unlikely, at least as far as it is concerned.
iOS 12 will Harden the Launch of Jailbreak Solutions
iOS 12 had announced by the people behind Electra software the possible release of a jailbreak solution, but nothing went further than simple statements. However, considering that we have a jailbreak solution for iOS 11 from the back of the Electra, it’s quite possible for iOS 12 to be offered at least one new jailbreak solution.
iOS 12 has a few things that’ll make jailbreaking harder:
– introduction of CoreTrust: this checks that all signatures come from Apple, supposedly stopping fake signing like ldid does
– vm_map_exec_lockdown: some form of userland ktrr, coming w/ the A12 (probably, unconfirmed)

Apple is implementing in every new version of iOS a hindrance to slowing the development of jailbreak solutions, but with iOS 12 things seem to be worse than in the past.
