WhatsApp Update for Nokia Asha Users Available with New Fixes and Security Features

Even though Nokia Asha phones are no longer being made, some people still use them. They should get the new WhatsApp update for their phone as soon as possible. The reasons include the fact that the phone will then have an app with all the latest fixes, features, and security updates.

See what Nokia Asha Devices Are supported

In 2013 Nokia was bought by Microsoft. Many people considered Asha a bridging device and due to some other difficulties it needed to be discontinued. The focus of the company moved onto to the Lumia series and some other Nokia-branded phone. Even this year we got a low-end phone from them, Nokia 1.

With that being said, Asha devices still support WhatsApp. The list includes: 205 Chat Edition, 230 Single SIM, 300, 303, 306, 310, 500, 502, 201, 210, 230 Dual SIM, 302, 305, 308, 311, 501, 503.

By the end of this year, Nokia S40 will no longer have Whatsapp support so you should keep an eye on this list.

Update Now Before It’s Too Late

WhatsApp is evolving, but unfortunately, it can’t make the older phones evolve too so the app will no longer be available for Nokia S40 since 31st of December and neither for other apps starting with 2020. From 1st of February 2020 phones running on Android versions older than 2.3.7 will no longer support WhatsApp and neither will iPhones running on iOS 7 and older.

Even though you might be saving some money to replace your Asha phone, make sure that you simultaneously update it to the new version of Whatsapp. You do not want to be stuck with an old version when the new updates stop.

With that being said make sure you replace your phone as soon as possible.
