What Should You Know About Clash of Clans When You Are A Beginner?

Clash of Clans is one of the most popular mobile games. It is available on Android, iPhone and iPad, and its number of players grows every day. If you are one of the new ones, it might be difficult at first to get the hang of all the rules. That is why we have prepared a couple of tips that should make it easier for you to get started.

This guide will help you set a base and you will be able to grow quickly without spending any cash. There are certain strategies that you can use in order to improve both your defenses and attacks.

In-app purchases are optional and they range from $4.99 to $99.99, but if you use our guide, you won’t need them. The Clash of Clans app is free to download.

Building your base

Building your base is the first thing that you do in the game, and it is more important than you would think. The way you organize your buildings and defenses can determine the success of an enemy attack. You want to keep your base safe, so you should think twice before you organize it.

It is important to know that your town hall must be protected at all costs. You should also make sure that the defenses and the walls are upgraded to the latest levels. You should usually place the town hall in the centre, and then surround it with other buildings and walls, so that the enemies can’t get to it. You can also search for base layouts that match your current level.

Shields

If you are not online, other players can attack you. However, if you use your shield, your base will be protected. Nonetheless, there are times when you don’t need to use a shield. For example, when you first start playing Clash of Clans, you will automatically receive a shield that will last for three days.

You also get shields if enemies managed to destroy (at least part of) your base. For example, if 40% of your base is destroyed, or if your enemies get to your town hall, you will receive a Shield that will last for 12 hours. If 90% or more of your base is destroyed during the attack, you will receive a shield that will last for 12 hours. It is also possible to buy Shields, but there is also a cool down period between shields, which means that you cannot use them continuously.

Once you have been attacked by someone, you will see a “Revenge” option that allows you to attack them back. Nonetheless, if you do that, you will lose your shield automatically. The same goes for other attacks. Clan Wars and the single-player campaign can be played without losing your shield.

Gems

You will receive a certain amount of gems when you start playing Clash of Clans. From that point on, you will need to use real cash if you want to buy more. However, you can also get small amounts of gems from trees, bushes or other removable obstacles. Sometimes a Gem Box will show up, and you can get 25 free gems from it. Clash of Clans Achievements also offer you gems.

Upgrading your Town Hall

You might want to upgrade your Town Hall as soon as you have a chance to do it, but we wouldn’t recommend it. You shouldn’t upgrade your Town Hall unless all your buildings have been upgraded already. We should also warn you that you will get less loot from players with a lower town hall level.
