iOS 12.1.1 Is Now Available to Download – Here Is What The Update Brings

Apple has officially released iOS 12.1.1. The update comes with several new additions and it even brings back some features. However, the most exciting thing about the update remains the eSIM support. Dual sim is a feature which was missing from iPhones up until the release of the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max.

Dual SIM support

In theory, dual SIM support was supposed to be available for iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max with the iOS 12 update. Nonetheless, dual SIM support is a bit different when it comes to Apple. The new iPhones can only use one nano-SIM card. Those who want to use a second card can only use that SIM through eSIM technology. Therefore, the iOS 12.1.1 update was needed so that US iPhones can use the dual SIM feature.

AT&T is the only carrier offering the feature at the moment. Nonetheless, other carriers will join them once more iOS 12 updates will be released.

Other features

The iOS 12.1.1 update comes with other features as well. This update brings back one of the most useful FaceTime features. Before iOS 12 was released, users were able to flip the camera during a FaceTime call with just a single tap. However, this feature was removed by the iOS 12 update, and users were not happy with this decision. Luckily for them, the iOS 12.1.1 update brings back this feature.

If you have an iPhone make sure that you install the iOS 12.1.1. It is very important to keep your phone up to date, as the latest iOS version also come with bug fixes. The latest update solves some issues related to Face ID, which makes it very useful for the iPhones X or later.
