Original Content
This one is easy to decide. PlayStation Vue does not have original programming produced by AT&T just like DirecTV Now has. Some rumors say that Sony is working on some originals, but we are not so sure about this as no confirmation was received.
DirecTV Now depending on the genre, offers some original content including:
- Condor, a political thriller
- You Me Her, a rom-com about a polyamorous relationship (the first of its kind, in fact)
- Loudermilk, a critically acclaimed comedy starring Ron Livingston
- Mr. Mercedes, based on stories by Stephen King
These titles air on the AT&T AUDIENCE Network, which is exclusive to DIRECTV, DIRECTV NOW, and AT&T U-verse.
On-Demand Content Available
Both DIRECTV NOW and PlayStation Vue offer on-demand content aside from live streaming. Using the cloud DVR on PS Vue, you can record shows which will be waiting for you to watch whenever you want, showing how dedicated it is to on-demand content.
Unfortunately, there is no robust DVR on DirecTV Now , but it claims that its library contains over 40,000 on-demand titles which make it better than many cable and satellite TV services. As the amount is extended, there is no doubt you will find something you like.

Depending on the package you choose, you can get a decent amount of live channels no matter what streaming service you select. However, when it comes to add-ons, none of them offers much. Actually, DirecTV Now offers no other add-ons aside from DirecTV Now Español and the premium networks. PlayStation Vue provides a lot, including a Spanish-language pack for $4.99 per month and a sports pack for $10.00 per month.
