Viber 10: The App Introduces Hidden-Number Chats

You have 10 seconds to tell me the name of one person who doesn’t know what Viber is. You probably couldn’t find one, because the app has grown so popular in the last years, it’s crazy!

Now, the team behind the app has decided to release a brand new version, the 10th version of the app for iOS and Android. The update comes with great changes. The biggest one is that it comes with a new user interface.

How is the user interface different?

The new version brings to us an all-white UI, which, as you may have already seen, it’s the latest trend in all of the apps. However, for the purple color that used to be Viber, it’s quite new.

Unified chat list

You will also get a unified chat list that has all of your chats – from private chats, group chats, and even Communities. This means that you don’t have to go through all of those different screens. It has become quite similar to Telegram or WhatsApp.

It comes with a list of calls

It will now also have a list with all of your calls, which is different than before. At the top of the screen, you can now see your Viber Out balance and your subscription.

A new way for people to chat

The app has introduced a way for people to chat, without having to reveal their number. This is best for Communities, where you can talk to strangers, without them knowing your real number. The feature is called Hidden-number Chats

What’s next?

The company has stated that next in the line is group calling. They said something about up to 5 people in a call.

You can get the update from the app stores.
