Pokemon Go Community Day for May Brings Torchic, The Gen 3 Pokemon

Niantic Labs has recently announced next month’s Community Day, adding details about the Pokemon that will be featured during the event.

Pokemon Go: May Community Day

The event will take place on Sunday, May 19, and it will run for three hours, as usual. It will start at 3 PM and end at 6 PM local time. During those three hours, players can earn three times more Stardust for every Pokemon they get to catch. Lure Modules will also get boosted to be active for three hours.

The incoming Community Day will feature a Gen 3 Pokemon – Torchic. This Gen 3 Pokemon, is a Fire-type monster that will appear in the wild more often than normal so that players can easily add it to their collection.

Looking back at the past Community Day events, players should also have a chance at catching a Shiny Torchic. If you can evolve a Torchic into Blaziken up to 7 PM during the Community Day event, you will earn an exclusive move. So far, Niantic hasn’t revealed the special move. However, we should learn about it in the week of the event.

For more information on the event, go to the official Pokemon website.

Current Events – Eggstravaganza, Shiny Meltan

Until the Community Day in May begins, here’s what you can do:

Catch a Shiny Buneary and hatch as many baby Pokemon as you can, because the Pokemon annual Eggstravaganza event will end on April 23.

Also, you can catch the rare Mythical Pokemon Shiny Meltan if you open a mystery box that you can get from Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu or Eevee (you just have to own a game or know someone who owns the game to transfer you on Pokemon from those games to Pokemon Go). You can open the Mystery Box starting with April 24 – 4 PM ET, until May 5 – 4 PM ET. A Meltan might appear once you open the box, and it can even be Shiny!
