George W. Bush Held an Impressive Speech at John McCain’s funeral

The late senator John McCain passed away on the 25th of August this year. The last year of his life had been a painful and tormenting fight with brain cancer. His funeral was an event that reunited former US Presidents like Barack Obama and George W. Bush.

Both of these gentlemen run for Presidency against the deceased Arizona senator. When they met at the ceremony, Mr. Bush and Mr. Obama wanted to give a speech, as a sign of their appreciation for their ex-opponent.

In addition, George Bush fulfilled one of McCain’s last wishes. Even if their political relationship was complicated, before his death, the late senator specifically requested that Bush spoke on his funeral.

The impressive speech was worthy of an honourable citizen

George Bush started his speech by saying that John McCain was a vivid voice in the American society. For all his suffering and efforts to make America a better place, the senator will be missed by all those who met him, had the chance to work with him or admired him.

Bush continued by adding that McCain lived by his own code, following a set of virtues that placed him above other politicians. These un-written rules gave him the courage to stand forward and protect his beliefs and values. The former President also said that McCain was honest, trustworthy, reliable and with a lot of fair-play.

Unlike other politicians, the senator respected his opponents and wanted all people to enjoy their freedom and rights. Most probably, he would like people to remember him as a restless soul who always fought for justice, freedom and respect.

George Bush’s speech was longer; we resumed the most important parts of it. The bottom line is that we should respect the others if we want to receive the same thing from them.

Woman Claims that a Galaxy Note 9 Burst into Flames While in Her Purse

A woman from Long Island charged in a lawsuit with Samsung after the company’s highly expected and supposedly fireproof Galaxy Note 9 model apparently spontaneously combusted inside her purse.

Having the opportunity of being the first case of a Galaxy Note 9 phone catching fire, the situation of real estate agent Diane Chung contains a legal claim which makes us remember the 2016 disaster for the South Korean tech giant, when various Galaxy Note 7 phones ignited and because it happened quite frequently, Samsung had to dump 2.5 million phones.

Selling for roughly $1000, the Galaxy Note 9 definitely wasn’t supposed to have this problem, according to Samsung’s very own experts who made a statement ahead of the 24th of August release. The CEO D. J. Koh stated, according to reports, that “the battery in the Galaxy Note 9 is safer than ever. Users do not have to worry about the batteries anymore”.

Kate Beaumont, the director of product planning, so another Samsung executive, said that the phone benefits from a battery safety check that is performed in multiple steps which should guarantee that the Note 9 will definitely not catch fire. However, Mrs. Chung was in an elevator after midnight, on the 3rd of September, in a Bayside building when her phone started to get really hot.

She didn’t use it anymore; instead she placed it in her bag. All of a sudden, she observed thick smoke as she heard a screeching and whistling sound coming from her purse. Then, she placed her bag on the elevator floor, while trying to empty it. Apparently, she burned her fingers as she grabbed the smoking Samsung and became extremely panicked while trapped in the elevator.

Eventually, she got out and a good Samaritan helped her by stopping the burning Samsung while grabbing it with a cloth and throwing it in a bucket of water.

Trump Continues to Tweet about Hurricane Maria as Florence Continues to Ravage

Despite Hurricane Florence still beating down the Carolinas, the United States President, Donald Trump, continues to use Twitter to question the real number of deaths which occurred in Puerto Rico during last’s year Hurricane Maria. Members of his own party gathered plenty of criticism earlier this week for claiming without evidence that members of the Democratic Party ginned up the death toll in order to smear the name of the President.

This Friday, Trump used Twitter to yet again cast doubt over the estimated 2,975 people who were killed on U.S. territory by Hurricane Maria. According to him, the researchers from the George Washington University made the numbers appear ‘like magic’ by using and unproven and unprecedented method. These researchers used the mortality data and performed certain analyzes to determine exactly how many Puerto Ricans died during or after the hurricane.

Trump appeared to quote the Washington Post while he tweeted: “when Trump visited the island territory last October, OFFICIALS told him in a briefing 16 PEOPLE had died from Maria”. Another tweet said that “This was long AFTER the hurricane took place. Over many months it went to 64 PEOPLE. Then, like magic, “3000 PEOPLE KILLED”.

He continued his tirade with yet another tweet: “They hired … GWU Research to tell them how many people had died in Puerto Rico (how would they not know this?). This method was never done with previous hurricanes because other jurisdictions know how many people were killed. FIFTY TIMES LAST ORIGINAL NUMBER – NO WAY!”

Until late August, the official numbers showed that 64 people died because of Hurricane Maria, despite some doubts hanging over this information. August 27th brought on an official statement from the Puerto Rican government which read that 2,975 people died, a number based on a study performed by the George Washington University.
