Electra Jailbreak Download Available For iOS 11.2 – 11.3.1

The jailbreak community has been waiting for the Electra1131 release for a while. But now, it’s finally available, and anyone who wants to use the tool for iOS 11.2 – 11.3.1, can now download it.

Electra iOS 11.3.1

On 7 July, the team behind Electra announced on Twitter that they have released the Electra jailbreak for iOS 11.2 to iOS 11.3.1. Anyone who wants it can download it from the following link: coolstar.org/electra/. You can download it as an IPA file, and then sideload it with Cydia Impactor.

The jailbreak tool comes in two versions. One is suitable for developers, which follows an exploit (multipath tcp exploit), and asks for a developer account. The other version is regular, using a vcf exploit, and it doesn’t need a developer account.

Many users replied to Electra Team’s Twitter post about the release. Some of them reported a few technical issues with the iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak tool. Among the common problems, a few said that the jailbreak doesn’t work, while others said that it works after a few tries. A user said that when he started to jailbreak the pone, it kept restarting the device, and other users said they had the same problem.

The jailbreak has a 30% success rate, with some users who wrote that they could successfully jailbreak their phone. For one user, it took 25 tries to finally jailbreak the device. He said that he could do it with the “app switcher” open and force closed Electra each time he retried.

If You Want to Jailbreak the Device, You Must Downgrade

Apple stopped signing iOS 11.3.1 after they released iOS 11.4. Devices which are on iOS 11.4 or beta versions of iOS 12 are not able to downgrade to iOS 11.3.1. If you have this issue, to jailbreak your phone, you must use a downgrade tool. You can use the one developed by JailbreakStatus, following this link, where you can download it: http://jailbreakstatus.com/downgrade/.
