Clash Royale Latest August Update Targets Tesla, Bomb Tower and the Inferno Dragon

Clash Royale holds the title of being one of the most popular mobile games in the word. The reason behind Clash Royale’s success is quite simple, Supercell keeps refreshing the game’s content through constant updates that introduce new features, cards, software tweaks, balance changes and bug fixes. Therefore, Clash Royale fans never get bored because something new is always coming their way.

Since we are talking about Clash Royale updates, fans of the mobile game should be happy to know that Supercell released a major balance change update on August 6th that introduced a bunch of buffs and nerfs. With that being said, let’s check out which are the cards that received the biggest changes.

Tesla

As all Clash Royale fans already know, Tesla is one of the most popular defensive buildings in the game because of its hit speed. Unfortunately, Supercell noticed that Tesla is a bit overpowered and decided to nerf Tesla’s lifespan and hit speed in order to make it easier for attackers to destroy it.

Bomb Tower

The Bomb Tower is also a highly popular building, but it’s not overpowered at all. Therefore, Supercell decided to reduce the cost of building it to four elixirs from five, while tweaking out some of its power. The Bomb Tower will now feature a lifespan of 35 (reduced from 40) and its hitpoints have also been reduced to 33.

Inferno Dragon

Dragons are the perfect troops for attacking enemies because of their range. Furthermore, the Inferno Dragon is a top pick for Clash Royale fans who want to defeat their foes and it looks like Supercell wants that to change. The reason we are saying this is because Supercell has decreased Inferno Dragon’s range from 4.0 to 3.5 tiles. Nonetheless, Inferno Dragon is still a powerful card even after this nerf.

Practice Makes Perfect

After asking on the r/ClashRoyale subreddit, we found out that the one thing all clan leaders who are ranked gold have in common is that they ask their clan members to practice a lot. If you do not plan on enforcing this type of rule on your clan members, then you should at least tell them to train before war day battles.

Do Not Force Participation or Exclusion

Not everyone has the free time to join war day battles and therefore, clan leaders should make sure not to force participation. Not just that, but also don’t exclude players from battles because they might not have a certain type of card. The game stops being fun when things get too serious and having fun is the most important thing about Clash Royale.

On the other hand, there are some players who do nothing and you shouldn’t tolerate slackers just for the sake of it. Don’t be afraid to kick someone out of the clan, especially when that player doesn’t participate battles at all.

Clash of Clans Breaks 4 billion, Clash Royale close to 3 billions

Supercell’s hit Clash of Clans continues to score impressive numbers almost six years after launch. Courtesy of App Annie we learned that the Finnish made game leads the IAP  top with over 4$ billion in user spending since launch, making it the most profitable game available on IOS. Clash Royale, also made by Supercell, broke the 2 billion landmark in global player spending earlier in June, both games generating a profit that seems to overshadow AAA games companies like Electronic Arts and Ubisoft.

Problems continue to trouble both PUBG Corp and Bluehole Studios. While they announced a suit against Fortnite developer Epic Games alleging copyright issues regarding the mechanics of the two games, the suit was dropped a few days ago. It would seem that either the two companies reached a secret settlement, or PUBG Corp realized that PUBG itself is coded in Unreal Engine 4 and angering Epic Games may lead to Epic canceling the license. These would mean that PUB Corp and Bluehole would have been obligated to recode the game in a different engine from scratch. Though luck, eh?

Algorithm change leads to Play store fiasco. A recent change in the Google Play store algorithm has left independent developers raging on the Plays tore forums. The change took place on June 21st when Google launched a new version of the algorithm. The main issue is the fact that downloads dropped by over 90% and so did organic traffic toward certain apps. The issue was also discussed on Unity and Discord servers and seems to persist. Google acknowledged that the main issue seemed to be a validation of payment for the license required in order to offer games on the Play store.
