Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 Available with Android Pie Beta and New Changes

In recent years, India has become a significant market for smartphone manufacturers.  Many Indians are now looking forward to purchasing their first smartphone and statistics show that almost 95% of the customers will buy a device that costs $500 or less.  The trend led to the release of several mid-range smartphones that are specifically designed for the country.

Samsung’s Galaxy A and Galaxy J series are quite popular in India, and the renowned smartphone manufacturer is constantly pushing new updates which aim to make the devices even better.

Samsung Members who visit the official forums were able to spot screenshots of an OTA notification that invites users to download a beta version of the latest One UI updated which is built on top of Android Pie.

The popular mid-range device was released in September 2018, and its features made it a quick hit. The spec sheet includes the mighty Exynos 7885 system-on-chip clocked at 2,2 GHz and more than able to tackle everything you attempt to run, including demanding games. Potential buyers have the option to pick between either 4 or 6GB of RAM. The FHD+ AMOLED Infinity Display is a joy to look at, delivering the impressive image. A triple camera system provides great pictures, and videos and the plentiful 3,300 mAh will keep your device running through a full day of use. The only flaw that could be called out is the decision to opt for a microUSB port instead of the more modern USB-C.

The OTA changelog featured in the screenshot notes that the update will also include the latest February security update.  The One UI is a revamped user interface which aims to replace the already aging Samsung Experience skin introduced with the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Those that wish to download the update are advised to use a reliable internet connection since the beta built measures 1.3 GB. Beta builds are available after you open the Samsung Members app and sign-in. Keep in mind that the version may be unstable and some bugs may appear.

Samsung Galaxy A7 vs. OnePlus 3T – Immersive Media Experience or Faster Hardware Power, You Choose

Apple and Samsung keep launching new high-end flagship devices every year and while these smartphones might be amazing, they are quite expensive. Take Apple’s latest iPhone X for example which comes with a price tag of over $1,000. Not everyone is willing to pay that much for a smartphone and here is where mid-ranged devices come in.

Galaxy A7 vs OnePlus 3T

Today we are going to pin Galaxy A7 and OnePlus 3T against each other in order to see which one wins. The reason we are doing this is that both smartphones are renowned for their hardware power, innovative features and affordable prices.

Display Technology

Samsung is known for equipping its smartphones with only the best displays available on the market. Therefore, Galaxy A7 ships with a massive 5.7-inches panel that uses the latest Super AMOLED technology which puts out a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920. On the other hand, we have OnePlus 3T that comes with a smaller panel of 5.5-inches that uses Optic AMOLED technology. Moreover, OnePlus 3T’s panel delivers the same pixel resolution as Galaxy A7.

Hardware Specs

Leaving the display aside, the CPU is the hardware part that matters the most. Galaxy A7 is fueled by an Exynos 7880 octa-core CPU that clocks at 1.9GHz. Hardware performance is the part where OnePlus 3T shines the most because it features a Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 821 CPU that clocks at 2.35GHz. Furthermore, OnePlus 3T’s CPU is paired with 6GB of RAM while Galaxy A7’s CPU features only 3GB.

Final Words

From the looks of it, the two smartphones are close equals. Galaxy A7 is the one which takes the cake when it comes to display technology and immersive media viewing experience while OnePlus 3T is the ideal smartphone for people who love a faster hardware performance.
