Samsung Galaxy S10 Leak Might Confirm The Removal of The 3.5-mm Headphone Jack

As it is the Galaxy S series’ 10th-anniversary smartphone, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 looks fabulous and would come with some great features, including a very powerful triple-camera system on its back. However, a recent Galaxy S10 leak might confirm the removal of the 3.5-mm headphone jack.

Bloomberg revealed some significant details about the next year’s Samsung Galaxy S10 flagship smartphone during what the renowned news portal described as an exclusive disclosure. While some of the information presented by Bloomberg came as a confirmation of previously-released rumors, they also revealed something troubling for the South Korean giant tech company’s fans.

As reported by Bloomberg, Samsung is already testing an S10 prototype without the standard 3.5-mm headphone jack. With such a move, Samsung is following Apple which ditched the 3.5-mm jack a long time ago. However, this move might not be welcomed by Samsung’s fans which appreciated the South Korean company for its stubbornness in keeping the standard headphone jack.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Leak Might Confirm The Removal of The 3.5-mm Headphone Jack

While the replacement of the 3.5-mm headphone jack was already predicted for Galaxy Note 10 (also to come out next year), taking such a move on Samsung Galaxy S10, the company’s anniversary flagship smartphone, would be controversial and the fans might not forgive Samsung.

To mention some of the Galaxy S10’s features, we must remind you that the flagship would come with a triple-camera system on its back, “ultrasonic” in-display fingerprint sensor, new six color schemes, and a more extensive display with thin edges and no notch, to boast a higher screen-to-body ratio. Also, at least one of the flagship’s variants would come with 5G support.

But, for sure, in the case Samsung Galaxy S10 would indeed come out without a 3.5-mm headphone jack, that would represent a problem for the fans, to some extent, of course.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Budget Versions Expected With 5G As Well

Samsung seems to follow Apple’s lead in developing three flagship models. We expect a trio of Galaxy S10 models and the South Korean tech giant is also looking to release a 5G version in the United States.

Beyond

The standard S10 has the codename ‘Beyond’, according to Bloomberg which released a report on Friday. The article cited anonymous sources and it seems that the device will have the approximate size as the model released this year, the 5.8-inch S9 model.

It will feature triple cameras on its rear and a front camera placed under the display. These details match the rumors we began to hear these past few months.

Display

Beyond will come with an OLED screen that will appear curved on both sides, having rounded corners and virtually no bezel at the top or bottom. Bloomberg stated that it will also have a fingerprint sensor placed under the screen.

Samsung vs. Apple

The plans of Samsung consist of matching the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR models. This supposes the creation of a larger ‘Plus’ version and a cheaper one that won’t come with a screen with its edges curved nor with a fingerprint sensor, says the report. The release of a model without a headphone jack is another possible outcome.

Winner

Samsung didn’t forget about their promise of delivering a foldable device. It has the codename ‘Winner’ and it seems that until now the company hasn’t decided between having vertical or horizontal prototypes, although designers feel that the former is easier to hold.

This comes as a bummer since it will not come in November, as we previously hoped for. Also, it won’t feature a fingerprint sensor like the S10, but it will come with an extra four-inch screen on the outside which will let you check messages or emails without having to unfold it.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Might Come Out In Six Different Colors

About a month ago, in September, Samsung CEO DJ Koh stated that we should expect some very significant design changes in the future Galaxy S10 flagship smartphone of the South Korean tech company. Now, according to Steve H from OnLeaks, Samsung Galaxy S10 might come out in six different colors.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Might Come Out In Six Different Colors

As Steve H reported on Twitter, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 would roll out in different color schemes, more specifically in Black, Grey, Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow variants.

“I heard new rumor suggesting the Galaxy S10 may come in new gradient colors. I didn’t get any confirmation about that rumor yet, but according to my sources, at this development stage (I’ve been told PVT is just around the corner), no less than nine color options are planned,” Steve H was saying on September 14th, after the DJ Koh statement.

Now, just yesterday, Steve H came up with new information on this topic, confirming the Samsung Galaxy S10 might come out in six different colors, instead of nine as he reported initially. “According to my sources, Black, Grey, Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow have been locked as final Samsung Galaxy S10 color options,” affirmed Steve H from OnLeaks on October 25th.

The New Galaxy S10 Color Scheme Might Not Be Available In Every Region

As it is already the case with other smartphones, including some of Samsung itself, all the color schemes available are not always present in every region of the world. It might also happen with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 which, despite it might come out in six different colors, might present differences in this regard between different markets.

For example, the current S9 and S9 Plus flagship smartphones also come in six different colors, but some are only available in specific regions of the world, while others are GSM carrier exclusive color schemes.

We’ll learn more about the Samsung Galaxy S10 in February 2019 during the MWC when the flagship might be officially announced.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Leaks: Codename and Color Variants Leaked By Ice Universe

In 2009, Samsung released its first Galaxy S device. Thus, in 2019 the flagship series of the South Korean tech giant would celebrate ten years of existence. Accordingly, many expect something big, and that could be the S10 flagship smartphone. Today, the device’s codename and color variants add up to the list of Samsung Galaxy S10 leaks, thanks to Ice Universe.

Samsung Galaxy S10 to come out with the next-gen Qualcomm CPU and 5G connectivity

While nothing is officially released yet regarding the upcoming Samsung flagship’s technical specs, some rumors talk about many new features and improvements Galaxy S10 would boast.

Accordingly, Samsung Galaxy S10 might come out with 5G connectivity, even though Samsung announced that this one would not be their first device to support the new network standard. On the other hand, the upcoming smartphone would pack the next-gen Qualcomm CPU for mobiles, the next year’s Snapdragon chipset.

Other rumors also talked about an in-display fingerprint sensor and a triple camera system on the back.

Ice Universe leaks Samsung Galaxy S10 codename and color variants

The renowned leakster, Ice Universe, who contributed to the majority of the leaks of other significant devices, now added to new rumors to the list of Samsung Galaxy S10 leaks.

According to him, Galaxy S10’s codename is “Beyond,” while its possible color variants would be black, green, white, pink, and silver. Even though Ice Universe made some right predictions in the past, it’s somehow hard to believe that Samsung won’t release its S10 flagship in other colors, such as gold, pink gold, or blue.

Keep in mind that all these information are only some Samsung Galaxy S10 leaks, some rumors that may or may not prove correct after all. And, as the future Samsung flagship smartphone would come out in 2019, many things could change until then.

Latest Samsung Galaxy S10 Rumors Talk About 5G Support, Ultrasonic Fingerprint Reader, Triple Camera

The recently-released Samsung Galaxy Note 9 came out with only a few technological advancements, but the future Samsung Galaxy S10 would be revolutionary and might roll out with a whole bunch of new features. However, many rumors on what it will bring came out over the time, but the latest Samsung Galaxy S10 rumors indicate that the upcoming flagship smartphone would have 5G support, ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and triple camera.

Will Samsung Galaxy S10 roll out with 5G support?

According to a ValueWalk report, Samsung plans on releasing its first 5G smartphones in 2019 to get the momentum of the 5G buzz expected next year. However, S10 might not be the first smartphone released by Samsung with 5G support.

As stated by DJ Koh, Samsung’s mobile business head, Samsung Galaxy S10 would not be the first 5G smartphone of the Korean company, but he did not mention which would be the first one.

Samsung patented an ultrasonic fingerprint reader

During a conference held in China, the same DJ Koh mentioned that the next year’s Samsung flagship smartphone, Galaxy S10, would replace the current optical fingerprint sensors with the newly patented ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology.

According to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the Samsung’s ultrasonic fingerprint reader would contain an ultrasonic transmission/reception module that can activate an area of the display to “read” the fingerprint. Also, the new technology would employ different scan frequencies to register the data.

Additionally, another rumor in this regard said that only the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus would come out with this new system.

One Samsung Galaxy S10 rumor suggests a triple camera setup

Allegedly, some inside sources stated that the Samsung Galaxy S10 triple camera setup would be made of a 13 MP sensor, a 12 MP wide-angle lens, and a 16 MP super-wide angle lens.

While Samsung would implement a triple camera setup on Galaxy S10 for the first time, the Korean company also plans to install such a system on the late-2019 Galaxy A models.
