A long time has passed since Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was officially released in March 2017. In a world of rapidly developing electronics, it feels like eternity, therefore many users of tablets created by the South Korean company are impatiently awaiting a new Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. After numerous leaks focusing on potential specifications of the device, we finally have a picture showing the design of the upcoming tablet.

The new look of Samsung Galaxy Tab S4

Design-wise, Tab S4 will be a big improvement on Tab S3. According to the leaked picture, thick bezels and physical buttons surrounding the 4:3 screen of Tab S3 will be replaced by Tab S4’s 16:9 display with almost non-existent bezels, showing no sign of home or capacitive buttons. Thanks to this, Galaxy Tab S4 looks very modern and fits well into the new line of Samsung’s devices.

It is important to mention that, judging by the leaked image, there will be no fingerprint sensor present on Tab S4. There is a possibility that it will be replaced with an in-display sensor or an iris scanner located up top, which can be seen on the picture.

Tab S4’s rumored specifications

According to past reports, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will be powered by Snapdragon 835 and 4GB of RAM. It is expected that the tablet will have 64GB of internal storage and a battery with the capacity of 7,300 mAh. As for the cameras, the device will have 13MP on the back and 8MP at the front. When it comes to its operating system, Tab S4 will run Android 8.1 Oreo. We can also expect DeX support.

So far, we haven’t gotten any official updates on Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, but we might finally hear some news on August 9.

With each passing day, we are getting closer and closer to the official launch of the new tablet developed by Samsung – Galaxy Tab S4. As usual, there are many leaks and gossips surrounding the upcoming device. Now, in addition to some of the specifications already rumored, we just learned more about the possible choice of colors of Tab S4 and its launch date.

The colors of Galaxy Tab S4 – nothing fancy this time

According to some recent rumors circulating the internet, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 and another upcoming device, Galaxy Tab A 10.1 will be available in two colors: black and grey. This means that there is no change here compared to the last year. For now, Samsung prefers to keep it classic. Those users who would rather choose some fancy colors will have to wait at least one more year.

What we know about the specifications of Galaxy Tab S4

As we mentioned before, thanks to some recent leaks we already know certain technical details of the upcoming Galaxy Tab S4. When it comes to the operating system, the tablet will run Android 8.1 Oreo with preloaded Samsung Experience 9.5. Tab S4 will be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC chipset, accompanied by 4GB of RAM. It was also reported that it will have 64 GB of internal storage. As for the design, the bezels will be slimmer, while the aspect ratio will be set at 16:10. We also need to mention an improved S-Pen that might come with some of the features of Galaxy Note’s stylus.

There will be two models available of Galaxy Tab S4 and Galaxy Tab A 10.1: Wi-Fi + LTE and Wi-Fi only. As for Tab A 10.1, we do not know much about its specifications, other than the display size of 10.1-inch, as its name suggests. It is rumored that this tablet might be launched as Galaxy Tab A2 XL.

Rumored launch date

There were some rumors saying that both tablets could be released before the end of July. However, at the moment it looks more likely that Galaxy Tab S4 and Galaxy Tab A 10.1 will make their debuts alongside the Gear S4 smartwatch at the Galaxy Note 9 Unpacked event on August 9.

With the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 launch event on August 9, many users were expecting to see not one, but three new devices unveiled. However, according to the newest update, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 and Gear S4 will not be launched at the same time as Galaxy Note 9.

August 31^st as the earliest launch date

The new expected debut for both Galaxy Tab S4 and Gear S4 was announced via Twitter by SamsungMobile.News. The tweet states that most probably the launch will take place during the IFA event in Berlin, which is scheduled to start on August 31^st.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4

The Korean company is currently developing a new tablet. According to available reports, Galaxy Tab S4 will run the Android 8.1.0 Oreo operating system. This tablet will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 1.90 GHz octa-core processor, while having 4GB of RAM. Galaxy Tab S4 will have a 10.5 inch QHD display with an aspect ratio of 8:5 and a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. When it comes to the camera, this tablet will have two of them: the front one with 8MP and 12MP with flash on the back.

Samsung Gear S4

Talking about the new smartwatch developed by Samsung, it is important to mention that most probably it will use a new operating system. According to Evan Blass, who is regarded as a reliable leaker, Gear S4 will be based on Wear OS, therefore replacing Tizen. Another notable improvement will be the battery: compared to the 380mAh battery of Gear S3, the new capacity will be 470mAh.

It looks like the earliest launch date of Galaxy Tab S4 and Gear S4 will be August 31^st. However, judging by the leaks, these two devices might be well worth of such a long wait.
