Samsung Galaxy A8 Would Ditch The Notch With A Selfies Camera Under The Screen

The Samsung Galaxy A8  will be Samsung’s first smartphone with a selfies camera under the screen and the prelude to what is supposed to be the 2019’s Samsung Galaxy S10. Weeks ago the company already announced the A8 handset in a presentation event aimed at launching new technologies. Unfortunately, they did not reveal many details on the new smartphone. Thanks to several renders based on the different Samsung Galaxy A8 leaks, we now know its design.

Although 2018 has not been the best year for the South Korean company, it looks like 2019 will start with a series of significant launches of new and improved smartphones. The Galaxy A8 will be the first of all, and as the company itself announced a few weeks ago, it will be the first smartphone in the world to integrate a camera under the screen.

That is visible in the different renders published by a renowned German website, specialized in leaks. In the images available below, we can see a handset with a virtually frameless design, and with a camera placed under the screen. The sensor in question would be located to the left of the terminal and would have a much smaller size than the current smartphones which boast a notch.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Would Boast A Selfies Camera Under The Screen

Otherwise, the device stands out for having three cameras on its back. We could already see something like this in the Samsung Galaxy A7, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that Samsung will repeat the same configuration on its top-of-the-range mid-range Galaxy A8.

As for the rest of the technical specifications, the features are still a mystery, but everything points to a Snapdragon 710 processor, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, expandable by microSD cards up to 256 GB.

The last highlight of Samsung’s mid-range is the inclusion of a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. Some rumors claimed that Galaxy A8 would come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It looks like it won’t, and we’ll have to wait until the Samsung Galaxy S10 to see this feature.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Leaks Debate A 6.7-Inch Screen With 4K Resolution

New Samsung Galaxy Note 10 rumors and leaks discussed the possibility that the future Galaxy Note flagship would boast a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 4K resolution.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note smartphone is often referred to as the brand’s “big phone,” as every year the Note has been the largest smartphone of the South Korean tech company. This year Galaxy Note 9 came to market with a 6.4-inch screen with Super AMOLED and a resolution of 2960×1440.

As the next year’s Note 10 device would boast a 6.7-inch screen, that would mean that it would be even more extensive than the recently launched iPhone XS Max which has a 6.5-inch screen. Because it would launch next year, regarding its display’s quality, Galaxy Note 10 would surpass its competitors as it would come out with a 4K resolutions.

Previous rumors have long talked about a possible Samsung Galaxy Note 10 with no 3.5-millimeter jack for headphones, following the examples of other smartphone manufacturers. Not only that it’s done to boost the wireless headphones sales, but it is also a change that allows more space for the rest of the elements that make up the phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Leaks Debate A 6.7-Inch Screen With 4K Resolution

The Da Vinci project, as the Galaxy Note 10 is codenamed, would seek to include the latest mobile trends of the market, such as a larger screen without frames, chin or notch. However, there is no rumor of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 leaks that speculated about the other specs of the next year’s Note flagship.

According to the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 10 leaks, the South Korean company would present its Note 10 flagship somewhen in mid-2019. The handset might boast a 6.7-inch display with Super AMOLED, HDR, and 4K resolution, but without frames or a notch. The price, as some rumors reported, would still be over $1,000, while the smartphone will keep its classic SPen that maintains a large fan community and is already an icon of the Galaxy Note series.

Samsung Emerged In The Augmented Reality Market With The New SXR SDK

Korean tech giant Samsung held its developer conference in San Francisco on November 7th and 8th. In addition to significant announcements such as the upcoming arrival of its first folding smartphone, the manufacturer also unveiled its work in the field of augmented reality.

The Korean manufacturer made several announcements, including the opening of its Bixby AI assistant to third-party developers and the presentation of a smartphone prototype equipped with a folding display. The company also spoke about its latest developments in virtual and augmented reality during a technical session called “How to be a superstar AR developer.”

Samsung has updated its “GearVR Framework” created initially for its virtual reality accessory for smartphones. It is now called the “SXR SDK,” which stands for “Samsung eXtended Reality Software Development Kit.” It is no longer limited to GearVR only but also works with Oculus Go and Google Daydream headsets.

SXR SDK, an AR cloud and an experimental augmented reality headset, Presented By Samsung

Above all, SXR SDK now also manages augmented reality, and it is compatible with ARCore, the Android augmented reality framework, as well as with the glTF file format, while it also comes with a library of 3D widgets. The SXR SDK is already available on Github. Samsung also presented an experimental augmented reality headset with an external camera, can track movements in six axes, and is accompanied by a controller, but which is limited to only three axes. The headset is Java-compatible and already has a Unity plugin.

A final announcement was made in the session dedicated to “augmented reality in the cloud” (AR Cloud). This concept, which Google is already working on, uses the cloud to create collective augmented reality experiences. Samsung has developed its own version through the “Whare project,” a framework that links physical space to virtual experience and then persists through multiple sessions and on multiple devices.

Now, Samsung is organizing an Augmented Reality Hackathon, from November 9th to 11th, 2018, in Mountain View.

Samsung Revealed Three “Infinity” Notch Designs and A Notchless “New Infinity” Display

The giant South Korean tech company, Samsung has just revealed four different screen designs at its 2018 developer conference. Three of these new screens come with various examples of a notch, while the fourth, “New Infinity,” is a notchless display.

The first three designs, dubbed as “Infinity-U,” “Infinity-V,” and “Infinity-O,” are showing a different notch design each. Infinity-U comes with a notch shaped like a letter “U,” Infinity-V boast a cut like a letter “V,” while the last one presents an O-shaped notch placed on the top-right side of the screen.

Interestingly, the Infinity-O design looks like the Samsung Galaxy S10 render, recently made by Ben Geskin. His render shows a Galaxy S10 device with an O-shaped notch on the top of the screen where the selfies camera would be put.

However, the notchless New Infinity display boasts a screen with almost no bezels and no notch. To be honest, this New Infinity screen looks fantastic.

Samsung Revealed Three “Infinity” Notch Designs and A Notchless “New Infinity” Display

Besides “Infinity-U,” “Infinity-V,” “Infinity-O,” and “New Infinity,” Samsung also presented its new Infinity Flex Display for its upcoming Samsung folding smartphone, the so-called Galaxy F.

As mentioned, at Samsung’s 2018 developer conference, the South Korean giant tech company presented its new designs for its Infinity display series. Each of the first three designs, dubbed as Infinity-U,” “Infinity-V,” and “Infinity-O,” boasts a uniquely-shaped notch. Besides these models, Samsung also revealed its “New Infinity” design which is a notchless screen with very thin, almost invisible, bezels.

The latter, the New Infinity display design, could be the one the fans would love the most if implemented on an upcoming Samsung design as the notches are increasingly less popular, lately.

In conclusion, Samsung revealed three Infinity notch designs and a notchless New Infinity display. One of the notch designs, the so-called Infinity-O, appeared recently, in a somewhat different form, however, in Ben Geskin’s render of Samsung Galaxy S10.
