The Nokia 3.1 is one of the few Android One smartphones from HMD Global that come with Android 8.0 Oreo, but its manufacturer has set out to release Android 8.1 Oreo updates soon.
Just in case you need a little review, this Nokia 3.1 boasts a 5.2-inch HD screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, and comes with a relatively simple design, with curved edges and delicate lines. Under the hood, as you probably already know, Nokia 3.1 runs a Mediatek MT6750N processor with eight cores, which is accompanied by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of storage (expandable via microSD) in its most basic version.
There is, however, a superior variant with 32 GB and 3 GB of RAM.
As for the cameras, Nokia 3.1 mounts a primary sensor with 13-megapixel resolution and a lens with f/2.0 aperture, while its selfies camera boast an 8-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. Also, its battery is a 2,990 mAh one, and it comes at very affordable prices.
Nokia 3.1 to get Android 8.1 Oreo updates soon
The first signs of a possible Android 8.1 Oreo update for Nokia 3.1 came from India where some users have started to notify that a package has arrived on their Nokia 3.1 phones helping them make the expected leap to Android 8.1.
The file, dubbed as Version 2.56B, weighs no less than 1.12 GB and comes with changes related to the settings menu, which has been renewed in Android 8.1 version in comparison to the previous one, a battery percentage indicator for the Bluetooth devices connected with the smartphone and a shutdown/restart menu that has also came up with a different appearance.
The same update also includes all the security patches up to this month.
Both Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 stood out as the only Nokia devices announced this year that ran Android 8.0. As both before-mentioned devices came with MediaTek chipsets, some users were not pleased, but now, at least, they would enjoy a superior version of the Google’s OS, the Android 8.1 Oreo.
