Intel Presented Its Ninth-Generation CPUs, Including The Intel Core i9 Processor As The Best Gaming CPU

Intel held its “Fall Desktop Launch Event” in New York to present the ninth generation of its Intel Core processors. One of the stars of this conference was the Intel Core i9-9900K which the company describes as “the best gaming processor in the world.” The Intel Core i9-9900K is a processor that has eight cores and 16 threads that operate at a base speed of 3.6 GHz and can reach 5 GHz in turbo mode.

In addition to the new Intel Core i9-9900K processor, Intel also presented other processors at this conference. The ninth generation Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7. The Intel Core i7-9700K is a processor that has eight cores, eight threads, at a base speed of 3.6 GHz, which can reach 4.9 GHz.

For its part, the Intel Core i5-9600K is a processor with six cores plus six threads with a base speed of 3.7 GHz, which can rise to 4.6 GHz with Turbo mode. Although Intel presents them as part of a new generation, these processors still use the 14 nm manufacturing method. This method has been in use since the launch of the fifth-generation Intel processors, back in 2014.

However, the process used to manufacture these chips is an evolution of the original 14-nm process, called 14nm++, which was introduced with the eighth-generation Coffee Lake processors. The company expects to change the manufacturing method of the new chips to 10-nm within the next year.

Intel launched the new ninth-generation of Intel chips, including Intel Core i9, the best gaming processor

Intel has assured that these processors are the first to include hardware solutions for the Meltdown Variant 3 and L1 Terminal Fault vulnerabilities. The rest of the security problems detected in the chips during this year will be solved through software.

The new CPUs can already be ordered as of today, but deliveries to buyers will begin as of October 19th. The prices of the new ninth-generation Intel processors are a pleasant surprise. The Intel Core i9-9900K goes on sale for $488, while the Intel Core i7-9700K will cost $373, while the Intel Core i5-9600K costs $262.

For users who want more expensive and performant processors, Intel introduced new Intel Core X-Series processors. That is the renewal of this family, which was launched in 2017. At the high-end this ranking of Intel processors, we find the Intel Core i9 Extreme that offers 18 cores and 36 threads at maximum speed in Turbo mode of 4.5 GHz.
