LG has just presented its new bet in the ultrabook computer market. The new LG Gram 17, a new very light equipment, with a large screen of 17 inches and that, inside which, LG has decided to install top-of-the-range hardware, comes with high performance and an autonomy capable of reaching up to 19.5 hours.
The screen size of 17 inches is not one that is usually lavished among the segment of ultrabooks. After all, the main selling point of these laptop models is in the great portability and low weight. Therefore, in this segment of the market, what abounds are the models with screens of 13 and 14 inches, along with several of 15.6 inches. In general, the 17-inch segment is usually more reserved for desktop-replacement laptops.
However, LG with the new LG Gram 17, does want to create an entry into the segment of ultrabooks, with a laptop that differs from most of those offered by the competition, mostly regarding the large screen size and the high-end hardware the South Korean company’s laptop boasts.
LG Gram 17 Ultrabook Comes With A Large Screen, Great Battery Autonomy, And High-End Specs
LG Gram 17 would come out with the new Intel Whiskey Lake-U. Specifically, it will be the Intel Core i7-8565U, which has a TDP of only 25 W but has frequencies of 1.8 GHz for the base and 4.6 GHz for its Turbo mode. This processor is a model with four cores and eight threads, which is complemented by an integrated graphics card from Intel and 16 GB of RAM.
Speaking of graphics, the 17-inch screen of this new ultrabook will boast a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass NBT. As for connectivity, the LG Gram 17 has a wireless network card of 802.11ac, along with a Bluetooth card, while there is no RJ45 jack for a network cable, a common feat for ultrabooks.
Finally, LG Gram 17 comes with a 512 GB SSD with SATA transmission, along with three USB 3.0 type A connectors and a fourth USB-C port. It also has a slot for the use of microSD memory cards. What is really interesting about this laptop is the large four-cell battery it boasts, which gives up to 19.5 hours of autonomy. The price of the LG Gram 17 is $1,699 for its most basic version.
