WordPress 5.0 Is Available With The New Gutenberg Editor And Other Features

WordPress 5.0 is now available for download and brings the new Gutenberg editor. WordPress, the manufacturer of the most popular content management system (CMS) on the Web, has just released version 5.0 of its platform. The latest update is one of the most important in years, with the addition of a new block-based editor offering a “simplified editing experience.”

The New Gutenberg Editor Comes With WordPress 5.0

In the new version of WordPress, named after Cuban jazz musician Bebo Valdes, there is the new Gutenberg editor, who places each piece of content in its own block, allowing creators to decide where to put it and how it appears to viewers. That essentially makes the process a flexible WYSIWYG system. WordPress indicates that if you prefer to use HTML and CSS, blocks will not be a problem.

Blocks include paragraphs, images, galleries, quotes, audio, lists, embedded elements and much more. For those building customer sites, it is possible to create reusable blocks that allow customers to add new content at any time while maintaining the same look. Of course, not all users will adopt the new editor, and it is possible that this will affect the plugins used in the old version. For those who want to stick to the Classic Editor, WordPress allows you to install a Classic Editor plugin in 5.0 that will be supported until December 2021.

WordPress 5.0 Is Available With New Features

Other new features in WordPress 5.0, besides the implementation of the new Gutenberg editor, include compatibility with PHP 7.3, support for internationalization of JavaScript and the new Twenty Nineteen theme, which highlights the power of the new Gutenberg editor.

“With its large spaces and modern sans serif titles, combined with classic serif text, Twenty Nineteen uses system fonts to increase loading speed. No need to wait long on slow networks,” says WordPress.
