Clash of Clans Gold Pass Is Increasing Revenues with 145%

The newest and hotness in gaming monetization have been given by the battle passes introduced in the games. Clash o Clans especially had made $27 million during the week that the Gold Pass has debuted. Gold Pass has increased the game’s revenue up to 145% over the week, and about 2.5 times for the free-to-play mobile game. The analysts say that the amount of money spent per day was around $3.9 million during the first week of Gold Pass.

What Are Battle Passes?

Battle passes known as season passes is the modern and popular way to monetize a game after it’s being launched. Those battles passes are like a two-edged sword, because when you start to play the game you will want to progress, and for doing that you have to unlock new items. For doing that you have to pay so, you will continue playing. So the battle passes are not only making money with the players, but they encourage the users to play the game more and more.

Moreover, other online games have adopted the system, games like Rocket League and Apex Legends. On the mobile area, Fortnite is the game that had encouraged the modern season pass. Some time ago, games like Call of Duty would be the ones that sell season pass for granting access to the story-based or to the multiplayer content which you can download. Things are changing, games are changing, and now the passes are focusing on the cosmetics earned through playing.

Finally, Clash of Clans Gold Pass has increased the revenue so much that the game is now in the top five games for iPhone games in 46 countries. Since the game was launched in 2012, and the first battle pass was introduced in 2017, Clash of Clans had occupied No. 1 in the U.S. App Store. A Gold Pass is only $5 in the U.S.
