Clash of Clans October Update – 25 New Goblin Maps and Clan War Leagues

Just a few weeks ago we found out about the next update for Clash of Clans and Supercell teased what kind of improvements they decided to incorporate for increasing the game’s quality of life. For that moment, we didn’t know just when the company will decide to release the update, although we soon found out that it was due this month.

Recently, through a post on the Clash of Clans forums, Supercell told us that this update will bring 25 new Goblin Maps for you to enjoy which would push the final count to 75 maps. Right now there are 50 such maps, which are like the game’s single player version. They have you attack a Goblin village, representing a worthy alternative to the main competitive multiplayer style of Clash of Clans.

Also, playing them will be a stress-free way of picking up the game’s rules and so on, since there are no Trophies or a time limit involved. Besides these new Goblin Maps, Supercell also announced that the Clan War Leagues will be introduced with the October update. For eight days each month, Clans can choose to enter a War League.

As opposed to regular Clan Wars, these opportunities will require each Clanmate to get only one attack, so they have to make it count. Full details are still expected, but we do know that there will be 18 League Tiers and Supercell also stated that “your Clan will be grouped with seven other Clans into a League. During the course of the League week, you will wage a 15 vs 15 War against each of those Clans. At the end of the week, the Clans with the highest number of Stars will be promoted to the next highest League tier, while the bottom performing Clans will drop down to a lower tier.”

Supersymmetry Theory Endangered by New Discovery

After running the most accurate measurement of an electron’s electric dipole moment (also known as EDM) researchers have doubts regarding the ‘’split supersymmetry’’ theory and other related hypotheses outside the Standard Model of particle physics.

The measurement, which is the most accurate one available for now, was taken by American physicists who are currently working on the ACME experiment in the US. It appears that the EDM is smaller than 1.1×10−29 e cm, while the previous measurements placed it around 10−28 e cm. The results are particularly important for the researchers that use CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, since the particles they are searching for could be above the energy limit of the collider.

It is common knowledge that the electron has a magnetic dipole moment, caused by the intrinsic angular momentum or spin of the battery. The main issue is the existence of the time reversal symmetry, which states that physics is the same regardless of time flowing forward or backwards, which also bans the electron from having an EDM. The magnetic dipole moment is directly influenced by the rotation of the charge and if we go backwards in time its direction is reversed.

Since EDM appears due to the distribution of the electric charge inside the electro, which doesn’t change after the reversal, the electron cannot have an EDM and magnetic dipole moment at the same time. With time reversal theory as an essential part of the most simplified version of the Standard Model, any new measurement of the EDM may hint towards the existence of new physics. While some versions of the Standard Model accept a small deviation of the time reversal principle this would lead to an extremely small EDM, which is very hard to measure.

The ACME experiment used slow-moving thorium-oxide molecules, which were pulsed through a one were one electric and one magnetic field intersected while running perpendicular to the beam. As the molecules travel through the fields, the spin at a particular angle which is measured by the researchers. An existing EDM will influence the angle, and by analyzing the difference between molecules with and without an EDM, the EDM can be accurately measured.

According to these results, particle outside the Standard Model have a slim chance to appear in the experiments run at the Large Hadron Collider.

Adobe Flash Player Safety Problems on Firefox, Edge and Safari

As 2019 will be soon upon us, Adobe Flash is coming closer to its inevitable demise, as the company will pull the plug of the famous web plugin in 2020.

Adobe’s Flash Player has been a pivotal plugin that helped in shaping the web as we know it today. It was used for animations, audio and video clips, and in some cases even entire websites. In the recent years, major security issues have plagued the player, as it was easy to hack, allowing malicious entities to infect users with a variety of malware and becoming well-known security vulnerability.

What put the final nail in the coffin was HTML5. HTML5 offers increased performance, it’s easier to learn and use, and it is a lot safer than Flash. After a mass migration of most websites to HTML5, Flash has started to look like a relic of the old days. While some browser games, legacy sites and ads still use it, those numbers are quite small.

In this case, mandatory permission is on by default, so no change is needed.

Edge

Edge will only allow you to disable the plugin completely. Go to Settings/View Advanced Settings and switch the Use Adobe Flash option to ‘’off’’.

Modern browsers will automatically update Flash Player, so stay away from any suspicious ‘’update’’ notification when visiting a website. They lead to a fake update that installs harmful malware on your system.
