Google Play Services 12.6.88 Download Update Available – Improved Stability and Performance

The Android parent releases a new version of its operating system every year. Take for example how Android 8.0 Oreo replaced the famous Android 7.0 Nougat. Nonetheless, the operating system gets better with every version because everything gets revamped starting with basic features and ending with the UI (user interface).

However, there is one app that never gets changed or removed in the process of updating the operating system. The app we are talking about is called Google Play Services and despite most people not knowing what it does, Google Play Services is essential to Android smartphones.

Google Play Services 12.6.88 Update

As previously mentioned, Google Play Services is a key component of all Android operating system and therefore, it should come as no surprise that Google’s developers are constantly releasing new updates for it. The latest update for Google Play Services changes its version number to “12.6.88” and it is available in the form of APK right now.

Since Google Play Services is a background app that ensures everything works fine, the new update doesn’t introduce any groundbreaking features or visual changes. However, the new update comes with a bunch of software tweaks that improve Google Play Services’ stability.

APK (Android Package Kit)

In case you didn’t know, APK is an acronym for Android Package Kit and this means that Android users are the only ones allowed to download this type of updates. Fun fact about APKs is that all apps release APK versions of their latest updates so that beta testers and eager users can get their hands on them before they are rolled out through OTA (over the air) channels.

Another important thing that we need to mention about APK updates is that Android users are required to manually download and install them on their devices. Moreover, users are also required to enable the “Install apps from unknown sources” option first.

iOS 11.3.1 Jailbreak Tool is On The Way

Apple started rolling out its latest iOS 11.4 a couple of days ago which features a new version AirPlay 2 and iMessages in Cloud. However, not everyone is that willing to receive all of Apple’s latest updates because this means that their operating system cannot be jailbroken anymore. Talking about iOS jailbreaks, Apple fans who enjoy installing Cydia and all other free apps on their iPhones should be happy to know that an iOS 11.4 SEP (Secure Enclave Processor) jailbreak took is close to being launched.

Ian Beer Exploit

Ian Beer is a security analyst who is renowned for his ability to find exploits in Apple’s operating system. The security analysts always announce the exploits that he manages to find and these are used by hackers and software developers to create jailbreak tools.

Nonetheless, Ian Beer recently unveiled that there is an exploit in iOS 11.3.1 and that he is working with the CoolStar team in order to create an iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak tool. To make things even better, the exploit is being incorporated into an upgraded version of Electra which features Min Zheng’s KPP bypass.

With that being said, Apple fans who are still running on iOS 11.1.2 and waiting for a jailbreak tool should make sure to update to iOS 11.3.1. We should also mention that Apple devices which are running on an older version of the 11.2.1 toolkit can still upgrade their operating system to iOS 11.3.1 by using saved SHSH2 blobs.

As previously mentioned, Apple rolled out iOS 11.4 and this means that the Cupertino based tech giant might want to stop signing iOS 11.3.1. Fortunately, this is not going to be an issue for any jailbreak fans since they can use the SHSH2 blobs and get iOS 11.3.1 without any problems.

Ripple (XRP): Ripple Company To Allocate $50 Million To 17 Universities For Blockchain And Cryptocurrency Study

Ripple is one of the largest blockchain companies in the world and its currency, Ripple (XRP), is the closest crypto coin to become a centralized cryptocurrency. In any case, Ripple (XRP) is one of the strongest cryptos on the cryptocurrencies market and the only one which managed to deal with big financial institutions such as Western Union and Banco Santander. Now, Ripple, the owner of the XRP crypto coin allocated about $50 million for cryptocurrencies study to 17 universities, as part of its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI).

Ripple has donated more than $50 million to 17 universities to be invested in studying the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain. This is not Ripple’s first massive donation, however, as the company has already spent $29 million on public education in the United States.

The new initiative is called the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) and will provide funding for research programs related to the blockchain, cryptocurrency, and digital payment systems.

In addition to the money, the company will also contribute with its expertise and resources to the research.

Ripple (XRP) will finance the blockchain and cryptocurrency study at 17 universities

For the time being, there are already 17 universities that will participate in Ripple’s UBRI project. Among them, there are some prestigious ones, such as Princeton or MIT, in the USA, while the others are in countries such as Australia, Luxembourg, or South Korea.

The universities’ dedication to the cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystems will create new job profiles, while the aim of UBRI is precisely to encourage students to pursue a line of research in these fields. Universities may carry out the work and research they deem appropriate in any way they wish.

Besides Ripple (XRP) UBRI project, there are even more prestigious universities that are going to carry out research on cryptocurrency, a fact which says a lot about this digital financial ecosystem.

Clash of Clans’ Town Hall 12 Newest Update Brings Bug Fixes

A few days ago, the new Town Hall 12 update of Clash of Clans was revealed. Now, thanks to a post on Supercell’s forum, we are able to review all the balance changes that are included in the update.

Similar to all defenses in Clash of Clans, Town Hall 12 has five different levels that change as you start gaining experience in the game. The balance adjustments that will be implemented can be divided into three main categories: fixing exploits, buffing troops that were underused, increasing rewards and loot. Also, the most important gameplay change is hidden into the patch notes. It looks like upgrading the levels of the game now requires players to place the buildings. This will make it very hard for the manipulation of war weight needed for engineering bases to be accomplished.

As we know by now, Supercell doesn’t like to spoil anything for their fans, most probably because they have various things to work on in the same time and they want to make sure they reveal only final ideas regarding update changes. However, one thing has been already confirmed. It seems that we will get more than one update this year, maybe as much as three or four of them.

The first big update was expected to launch in the first half of the year, so we should have some official news soon.

What has been unsatisfactory for most players up until this point, is the situation with Clan Wars, as engineered bases can handle much higher adversaries than their war weight. So we do hope to see some significant changes made by Supercell when it comes to the matchmaking queues for engineered and non-engineered bases.
