Opera Mini vs. UC Browser – Which One is the Best Google Chrome Alternative?

Google made a clever decision when it decided to pre-install Chrome on all Android powered smartphones. This didn’t only help improve the browser’s popularity, but it also made it look like Android fans don’t have any reason to try out other browsers. We are not saying that Google Chrome is a bad browser by any means, but there a couple reasons why people might want to give UC Browser or Opera Mini a try, especially since Google Chrome is infamous for draining RAM power.

UC Browser

In case you didn’t know, UC Browser holds the title of being the most popular browser in India and China. Is there something that those two regions know and we don’t? Well, the reason why UC Browser is so popular is that it has been designed to enhance download speeds.

The browser ships with a special download manager that takes download speeds to the next level and it also helps users manage their files. Not just that, but UC Browser users will find out that downloading files will not slow down the way they browse the web because pages will load at the same speed.

Opera Mini

Just like UC Browser, Opera Mini excels at downloading files, but this is not the only thing that it excels at! As its name implies, Opera Mini is tiny in size and this makes it ideal for more mid-ranged smartphones that don’t benefit from a large internal storage space.

In addition, Opera Mini features data compression which helps the browser reduce the amount of mobile data consumed while browsing the web without being connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. We should also note that Opera Mini features a friendly UI (user interface).

Final Thoughts

UC Browser and Opera Mini are high-end browsers that offer a premium level user experience. Both are superior to Google Chrome when it comes downloading files, but Opera Mini takes the cake in this comparison because it is specially designed to lower how much mobile data people use on a daily basis.

15-inch MacBook Pro vs. Dell XPS 15 – An Unexpected Outcome Comparison

Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro is an amazing laptop that is renowned for its processing power. However, today we are going to test the laptop by putting it head-on against Dell XPS 15-inch. Apple and Dell’s laptops are both of premium quality and comparing them to each other will tell us whether the 15-inch MacBook Pro or Dell XPS 15-inch is worth our money.

Design

One of the things that Apple is renowned for is the design that it uses on its devices. The 15-inch MacBook Pro is the best laptop Apple has to offer and it should come as no surprise that it’s equipped with a sleek design. To make things even better, Apple’s laptop is also lighter than all its predecessors.

Even though Dell XPS 15 also ships with a cool-looking design, it pales in comparison with the 15-inch MacBook Pro. Apple has the advantage because its laptop is thinner by 150g and the design is simply stunning.

Under the Hood

There are two models of Dell XPS 15 that interested customers can purchase. The first one is powered by an Intel Core i5 chip while the more expensive model is fueled by an Intel Core i7. Furthermore, Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro is only available with an Intel Core i7 under its hood and while this might not be a bad thing by any means, it does imply that there isn’t an affordable version of the laptop.

Moving on to memory, the 15-inch MacBook Pro is available with 16GB of RAM under its hood. On the other hand, Dell XPS 15 comes with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM. In terms of graphics, Dell XPS 15 ships with Nvidia’s GTX 1050M and 4GB of GDDR5 memory while Apple’s laptop offers a Radeon Pro 555 and 560 GPU alongside 2GB of graphics memory.

Final Thoughts

From the looks of it, Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro takes the cake when it comes to design but falls short in terms of specs. Dell XPS 15 is better because customers can purchase a more affordable version of it while Apple fans are restricted to a couple of customization options.

Macbook Air 2018 Release Date, Incredible Features and Improvements

Apple laptops have gone through many phases in recent years. A warning has gone a long way from the Macbook Plastic series to the MacBook Pro series, while MacBook Air has been replaced with the ultra-slim 12 “MacBook. It seems, however, that 2018 could be the one in which MacBook Air could return to public attention with an up-to-date and lower-priced design, which could provide more than ten percent increase in Apple laptop sales.

The date of launching is nearer than we expected

The MacBook Air 2018 is about to be produced in about 6 million units in 2018, so Americans have big expectations about sales of the new product. The big problem will be that the world hopes the new MacBook Air 2018 to be cheap, and with a Retina Display it could have a higher price than some of its customers would like.

To new MacBook will be available in the second quarter of 2018, with a lower price than the $ 999 at which the current MacBook Air is currently listed. The lower price would ensure an increase of 10-15% compared to 2017 for sales of Apple’s portable computers.

The incredible features, the new laptop has

The MacBook Air 2018 is expected to include a 13.3-inch diagonal screen retina, identical to the one used in the MacBook Pro, with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. The new Retina screen for the MacBook Air 2018 will be bought by Apple from LG, after trying to buy cheaper screens in China but did not find the desired quality. The MacBook Air 2018 will have new screens delivered by LG from April, and production should have begun at the end of May or early June. Quanta will produce 70% of the units of the new MacBook Air 2018, while Foxconn will produce 30% of them, and the new laptop should be announced at WWDC 2018 in June.

Google Earth Update Download Available for Windows PCs with Additional Support for Browsers

Google Earth is an app that provides users with a 3D-rendering of the Earth by using high-quality satellite imagers. The developers have been working on improving it and the latest update offers new features.

Google Earth services

Developers have been working on increasing the app’s accessibility via web browsers due to the fact that it isn’t free. It can be accessed on the Chrome web browser which is owned by Google but will soon be available for Mozilla Firefox too.

Google Earth has two versions, namely Basic and Pro. The Pro version offers users print HD resolution screenshots, advanced GIS data importing (data about traffic count, parcels, etc.), the ability to edit and share movies offline with Quicktime HD and Windows Media and an improved measurement feature.

Regardless of the Google Earth version you have, its installation depends on having LSB 4.1 libraries, Windows XP, Vista, 7 or higher and Mac OS X 10.6.0 or higher. For the latest update, users will have to download the latest direct installers 6.2 and 7.x for Windows and Mac from the Google Earth support page. This update will include access to information about the places you would like to see or the least explored areas and even visit them in 3D view. Moreover, you can check and read about different travel experiences in about 40 available books.

What about Mozilla Firefox and other browsers?

Google Earth Support Demo for Mozilla Firefox has been published on Twitter by the Google developers themselves. The support is only extended to Chrome via Native Client. Google Earth Support will be offered on Edge and Safari but nothing is certain at the moment until the software is ported to Mozilla Firefox.

WebAssembly, an open standard to run code in browsers, is being worked on at Google which is already functional on Mozilla Firefox.

Google Maps is Scheduled for a Great Update – Improved Reality Navigation

Google is set to update its apps and Google Maps is one of them. Last week, The company inaugurated its ideas at the Google I/O developers conference. Some of the future characteristics are already available on test versions for a select group of users.

Custom list of locations

Google Maps will have the feature to mark your previous locations on custom lists. It will announce you through a progress bar when you visit one or more places frequently.

Improved reality navigation

By accessing your phone’s camera, Google Maps will make your journeys easier by using machine learning to detect the environment and location.

Better screen usage

When users want to access more information about a certain institution or location, they access the location information page. Unfortunately, this page is full-screen and takes a lot of space. Google Maps will no longer have a full-screen information page but a third-screen one.

Personalised recommendations

Google Maps accesses your own location history, the road accessibility depending on where you are and your Google reviews for providing a better location, for example a restaurant. A match percentage and a star rating will provide you the most suitable choices based only on your preferences.

New Explore tab

Just as TripAdvisor and Yelp, Google Maps will show the latest nearby activities and events.

Updated Material Theme design language

Google Maps will have colour-filled buttons and more rounded corners in order to provide a better app design. The practical directions and contact details will be featured at the bottom. The top will have pictures of the selected location.

The developers didn’t mention an exact period or date for the updates at the Google I/O last week. However, people expect the new Google Maps to be available in the following months.
