Bitdefender Vs Avast – Which Is Better?

Bitdefender is one of the best antivirus solutions out there, summing up a lot of features and useful functions to protect your devices against viruses and malware or spyware. Also, Avast is another excellent solution against malware. Each of these two programs is available for multiple platforms, including Android, iOS, and Windows. But which is better between Bitdefender and Avast?

Bitdefender Vs. Avast – Which Is Better?

Bitdefender Vs. Avast – Features

Both apps come out with dozens of handy features and functions that permit users to navigate the Internet and install programs safely. Bitdefender, on the one hand, comes in various plans, each with its own functions. The Total Security plan is impressive and is summing up dozens of useful features, including some core security ones such as parental control and web attack prevention.

On the other hand, Avast is attracting users with a free plan that is a basic antivirus solution with some extra features, too, that are useful to protect your device against viruses, malware, and spyware. However, the free plan is lacking some essential security functions that are only available for premium users. The free Avast plan is quite useful for mobile platforms, both Android and iOS, and it comes with some specific functions such as a calls blacklist, anti-theft features, and a folder and app locker.

Bitdefender Vs. Avast – Prices

As I’ve already mentioned, both antivirus solutions come in multiple plans. Bitdefender is also free for mobile platforms and desktops but only as a 14-day trial version. On the other hand, Avast comes as a free app, but to access more useful features, you have to pay. On Android, for example, Avast is somewhat annoying in promoting its premium functions, as users reported.

Also, Bitdefender is much cheaper than Avast. For example, the lowest premium plan Bitdefender offers costs only $34.99. On the other hand, the most affordable paid subscription plan on Avast costs $59.99.

Bitdefender Vs. Avast – User-Friendliness

Bitdefender is very straightforward thanks to its Quick Actions feature. Also, it’s interface is clean and comfortable to use, allowing users to access all the critical sections to set up the antivirus solution, scan the device, or access privacy options, among others.

Also, Avast is coming with a user-friendly GUI. Even though Avast is missing a Quick Actions-like function, the interface is also clean, and the sections are easy to access, while it’s also straightforward to set it up and run scans.

Bitdefender Vs. Avast – Conclusions

Both Bitdefender and Avast are excellent antivirus solutions with lots of features to offer protection against viruses, malware, and spyware. They also offer enhanced privacy options and come with user-friendly interfaces. Also, both Bitdefender and Avast are available for multiple platforms, including Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac.

In conclusion, however, Bitdefender is better than Avast, as it’s cheaper, more powerful, and has impressive security features in high-end premium plans.

Should We Disable Avast for Good?

Avast is an antivirus that is really used all over the globe. However, in some cases this happens because it comes preinstalled on your computer or perhaps some other program you wish to install adds it as a bonus on your PC or laptop. Regardless of the scenario, the fact remains that you might want to get rid of it completely.

We aren’t saying that Avast is a terrible antivirus, not at all; it’s just that it isn’t enough to protect your data, not anymore. Also, there are cases where it caused some troubles as well. As a first antivirus, it’s really great. That’s because it is basic and it will keep you safe from minor attacks. However, those that have spent some time on the internet might have already found out that it isn’t much it can do to protect your computer.

You should be looking to add another layer of protection and this brings us to the next problem it causes. Avast won’t let you add another antivirus or even a WAF. This can happen only if you disable Avast and this would be an inspired decision which might allow you to get a better antivirus as soon as possible.

The bad rep of Avast is mainly caused by its ‘ability’ of blocking websites, even those that are your favorites. Even if you can access your go-to website right now, chances are that if you keep using this antivirus, then that website’s time is running out and it will eventually be labeled as a threat.

Last but definitely not least, Avast shares your data. Of course, you can turn this ‘feature’ off, but the process of doing so can be a hassle. That is why you might want to get rid of it and save some time as well.
