GTA VI: Top Things We Need to See in the Highly-Anticipated Game

Last year in December, the world finally got the chance to see the first official trailer of the long-awaited game GTA 6, and the internet went wild with reactions. People have been piling up on forums, social platforms, and YouTube to share their opinions about what we know so far about the game from its trailer, although a lot more information will be revealed soon enough.

Apart from GTA 6 having the first female protagonist in the series, a girl named Lucia, and the open-world environment looks incredibly diverse, there’s still a lot more to uncover. While we will all get to find out a lot more information about the highly-anticipated game soon enough, it’s time to speak about what we actually need to see in it as fans of the iconic Grand Theft Auto franchise.

More interiors for the buildings

GTA 5, the latest game of the Grand Theft Auto series, was an incredibly fun game to play, but still, it had its shortcomings. One of them is that it had quite a few interiors to explore. This came in contrast with a much older title in the series, GTA San Andreas, which had a lot more enterable buildings.

We surely hope for GTA VI to bring a lot more enterable buildings than its predecessor, and that is surely feasible considering that the map will be huge. We can expect an even larger map than GTA 5, and perhaps the game will demand more storage space than any other game. Either way, for GTA 6, we surely need to see an enterable airport and enterable hospitals where you get to shoot the doctors and patients (such as in GTA IV), the possibility to buy houses and mansions, and more.

More customization options

Let’s face it: although all three protagonist characters in GTA 5, Michael, Trevor, and Franklin, had their charm, we couldn’t really customize them as much as we would have liked to. More ways to dress them up or even add personality traits would have represented some good ideas. How about some sort of mode in which Trevor acts in accordance with a recent experience that he had? That would be fun to see in a future GTA game!

How about more ways of tuning up your cars than we had in GTA 5? That would certainly be nice indeed!

A more diversified map

The map in GTA 5 was huge and pretty diverse, as we could see countryside, mountains, lakes, islands, and more. But still, it was behind what GTA San Andreas, a game that came out almost a decade earlier, had to offer. GTA SA had three major cities, countryside, airports, military bases, and a lot more. We would definitely like to see the same level of diversity in the upcoming GTA 6 as well.

Improved gameplay

There’s no limit to what AI can do these days, so why not hope for even better gameplay than what previous GTA games had to offer? It would be nice to see even more intelligent AI patterns in GTA 6, more creative ways of taking down opponents, and more.

GTA VI will have two protagonist characters, Lucia and her boyfriend, whose name we don’t know yet. However, the rumors indicated the presence of three protagonist characters, but we will have only two.

GTA 6: What We Know About Lucia, the First Female Protagonist in Grand Theft Auto History

After an endless amount of speculation and rumors, we now know for sure that GTA 6 is coming out in 2025 due to the first official trailer of the highly anticipated game. In just a few short days, the GTA 6 trailer has been watched by netizens from across the world more times than the first trailer for the previous game, GTA 5, in all its existence of 12 years. In other words, there’s absolutely no exaggeration to say that GTA 6 is indeed the most anticipated game in history.

One of the reasons why Grand Theft Auto fans wait for the launch of GTA 6 is that the upcoming game will be the first in the beloved series to have a woman as a protagonist. Until now, we had only guys as GTA protagonists, and GTA 5 was the first and only game of the series so far that introduced more than one protagonist. We had Trevor, Michael, and Franklin as the protagonists of the latest GTA game.

As for GTA 6, Lucia and her boyfriend are the game’s protagonists. We don’t know the guy’s name so far, but we can still speculate a lot about Lucia, who seems to be a Latin-American badass girl who’s always ready to settle the score the hard way.

Who is Lucia in GTA 6?

We can see Lucia in the GTA 6 trailer appearing as she meets with a parole officer. When she is asked why she thinks she’s there, the girl gives a very badass statement: “Bad luck, I guess.”

Lucia and her boyfriend often like to get into trouble, and they seem very devoted to one another. It’s clear that their relationship is also romantic, while their main hobby is running away from the police after they do some very bad deeds.

Lucia is clearly the first female protagonist in GTA history, and that can’t possibly upset anyone. She seems to have the right badass attitude to go for heavy crimes across the streets of Vice City (fictional Miami).

There’s no more to learn at this point about Lucia and the other protagonist of the long-awaited game. However, we can expect both of them to be Mexicans, judging by their skin tone.

GTA 6: a console-exclusive game?

At this point, we know that GTA 6 won’t be available for the PC at launch, but that could change in the future. The game will most probably work only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, but it could follow suit in the case of GTA 5, the previous game, which was adapted for PC two years after its initial release for consoles.

The appearance of a female protagonist in GTA 6 has been heavily rumored and speculated until the official trailer of the game confirmed the hunch. It was nice to see that it’s indeed true, and a badass woman will be in the future game. Also, we’re happy to see that the rumors about a return to Vice City (fictional Miami) were also true, as GTA 6 will recreate the map of one of the most iconic video games ever made: GTA Vice City, which came out in 2002. Of course, the improved map will be much more diversified this time and adapted to the current gaming standards.

All we can do at this point is wait for Rockstar to tell us more about the identity of the GTA 6 protagonists, as there’s a lot more to learn.

The GTA 6 trailer was released sooner than expected because official footage leaks have already been published online. This led Rockstar to decide to show the trailer to the world, and so far, it has gathered an astronomical amount of more than 143 million views in just one week after its release.

GTA VI Release Date Speculations and Leaks

With GTA V being the beloved Rockstar title, many wonders when GTA VI will see the light of day.

There is no official information from Rockstar that they are working on a sequel, and they may have good reasons to keep it a secret.

Read Dead Redemption 2 will release next month. The open-world western game sequel took almost a decade be made as Rockstar aims to please the fans of the original. Announcing a GTA sequel now is counter-intuitive, as it would immediately shift the focus from Read Dead Redemption 2, and hurt the potential sales at the same time.

Another critical factor is that Rockstar usually focuses on one title at a time, refining the product until it reaches their established standard, and they are not afraid to take their time in order to deliver a masterpiece. A large part of the studio is also still focused on developing DLC for GTA V Online, five years after the initial launch. Over the course of these years multiple DLCs and expansions have added hours of free content, but they also took valuable time to make, another reason for that may have caused the delay of GTA VI. It took three years after the launch of GTA Online to announce RDR 2.  If RDR 2 has a similar component, the announcement of a GTA sequel may take place beyond 2020.

As the title appears to be in development limbo, fans crowd the forum with ideas and demands for it. A large segment demands that GTA VI should receive post-launch single-player content, which was skipped for GTA V as both Rockstar and 2K claimed that the single-player experience is already complete and there is nothing more to add.

Some demand more customizations features, including the ability to create your own character, one of the key aspects the made rival franchise Saints Row so popular. Other fans hope that it will be the first GTA to take place in another country, or even have a female protagonist.

What will come remains to be seen as Red Dead Redemption 2 hits stores on the October 26.
