PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two Comes with Streaming Features and New Changes

With the announcements made by Sony and Microsoft regarding the inclusion of streaming on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two, many users started wondering if single-player offline gaming is in the future plans of these companies. The gaming giants have already developed their own streaming services, but we do not know yet how important this component of the next platforms will be.

Streaming is the main focus of developers

According to numerous experts, the major shift in the video gaming industry towards streaming may mean that single-player offline gaming will slowly become a thing of the past. The ever growing importance of the internet creates the need amongst developers to constantly improve and expand the online side of their services. This makes us wonder about the future of single-player offline gaming, especially with the increasing use of subscriptions.

Due to the fact that a large part of PS5 and Xbox’s customer base originates from developing countries, known for rather poor service, these two companies will keep the single-player offline games alive, at least for now. It looks like even with the rapid development of streaming, it will take much longer for us to see streaming-only games.

The benefits of streaming

It is predicted that streaming will generate major improvements in the gaming industry. According to Mashable, the processing power of a console will be freed up, and at the same time we will avoid large downloads while updating games.

Google may enter the gaming market

While we wonder about the future of single-player offline gaming, a new player may join the industry. Apparently, Google is preparing the launch of its own console and streaming service, named Yeti. The future could be very interesting with the arrival of Google’s console.

PlayStation 5 to Use AMD’s Navi GPU, the Zen CPU – Amazing New Changes

You read that right! AMD has designed its Navi graphics architecture (GPU) to be mainly used in PlayStation 5, as “industry sources” talked to the Forbes. This anonymous source also stated that for the next-gen console, they would use the AMD’s Zen, which was the CPU that was used in the Ryzen brand gaming desktops.

We don’t really know much about the AMD’s Navi, but what we know so far is that it will use the 7nm process. Some gossips say that it was created to be used primarily in PlayStation 5. Just as the source said, two-thirds of the staff which was working on the Radeon RX Vega (and also other projects) were redirected to work on the Navi, thing that led to the RX Vega launch. This was not welcomed very well by Raja Koduri, who is the head of Radeon Technologies Group.

About the next-gen consoles from Sony

There’s not a word from Sony with regards to the next-gen consoles. After the event which took place earlier this month, with E3, some people started to think about whether Sony really has some new hardware to reveal or not. This happened after Shawn Layden, who is the chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios made an announcement in May on the PlayStation Blogcast. He merely said that they’re going to focus on their content (which is probably going to be awesome), but there will be no new hardware announcement at E3 this year.

We can be sure of one thing though: E3 2018 gave some details about Sony’s still-unshared titles, for example, “The Last of Us Part II” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man”. However, no one heard anything about PlayStation 5.

Phil Spencer, from Microsoft, however, said in an announcement that they are actually working on the next generation of consoles. In plural. More than one console.
There’s still a year until the E3 2019, so it’s still plenty of time for Sony to give us some details about the PlayStation 5. As you probably remember, Sony didn’t want to announce the PlayStation 4 at E3 2013, so this put even more pressure on the fact that we have some time to wait until the big reveal. From where we’re standing, the PlayStation 5 will probably not make its appearance sometime earlier than 2019 or even 2020.

However, the Interactive Entertainment CEO from Sony, John Kodera, said in a statement from May that we should prepare our goodbyes, as the PlayStation 4 has entered the final stage of its life.

PlayStation 5 Update – Backward Compatibility and 4K Details

With the lifecycles of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro slowly coming to an end, millions of fans have been impatiently waiting for any news regarding Sony’s next console, named PlayStation 5. Let’s take a look at some of the potential features of PS5, which is currently under development.

Backward compatibility

Even though it is known that soon PS4 and PS4 Pro will stop being supported, there are still numerous new games which are going to be released for these two consoles. So what will happen when PS4’s replacement is finally launched? Will all these games be compatible with PS5? It looks like the fans have nothing to worry about, as it is highly possible that backward compatibility will be added by Sony to its new console. This means that gamers will still be able to enjoy the titles that were released for the selected older platforms.

Game trading between gamers

Another feature could come with Sony’s new patent. A new technology called DRM (Digital Rights Management) can make the trade-ins of downloaded games possible. Using blockchains, the digital version of the game can be tied to the user, which could allow the transfer of existing rights to the buyer’s account, thus making the download possible for him.

PlayStation 5 in 4K

According to some analysts, with the release of PS5, Sony will try to take full advantage of the popularity of 4K devices. While PS4 Pro gives us a taste of what it will be like to play in 4K definition, PS5 is expected to work perfectly well with 4K TVs.

When will PlayStation 5 arrive?

As confirmed by Sony, we should not expect any new hardware announcements during its E3 2018 conference. Judging by the recent comments made by some senior Sony officials, PlayStation 5 could be released in either 2020 or 2021.

Sony Breaks the Ice With New PlayStation 5 and an Eight-Year PlayStation 4

Even if Sony has started to mention new information about the company’s future PlayStation 5, it seems that they are not done with PlayStation 4 either. It is still going strong and consumers don’t feel the need for a new hardware or consider the platform out-dated. So, the discussions about Sony’s products are either focused on the future PlayStation 5 or on keeping the PlayStation 4 on the market for longer.

Sony is almost as important as Nintendo, a position which will enable the company to gain even more market share in the future but it shouldn’t be distracted by using more resources for one console than the other.

The PlayStation 4’s popularity

In 2018, PS4 will be on the market for five years. Sony may follow the PlayStation 3’s trend of lasting over seven years and go even further to confirm that it will last for three years or more, breaking the company’s record of such a lasting presence. Its lifespan may have been extended, but fans need to know what a future PlayStation will bring to the table.  The company will consolidate the PlayStation 4 in order to catch the consumers’ attention and raise brand awareness for its next console.

The shift from the SNES-era systems to the PlayStation and from the PlayStation to the PlayStation 2 made Sony what it is today. The PS4 has introduced the 4K gaming together with Xbox One games but it seems that it would remain the last “traditional” console generation after the PlayStation 5 will be launched. However, the technological advancement will be a subtle one, making it easy to understand that consumers are really satisfied with the PS4.

The future PlayStation 5

Sony’s console will be the closest thing to a cutting-edge successor, leaving the days of testing proprietary hardware and Emotion Engine far behind. Whatever configuration of hardware Sony will use, it will look almost as a linear evolution of the PS4. The PS5 is expected to perfectly run your digital library of PS4 games, depending on the Blu-Ray drive. Since losing an entire library of digital games would be a great drive not to switch to a different platform, it would additionally lock consumers into their console choice.

Sony hasn’t made all the decision regarding the PlayStation 4 yet but it would be surprising if the company hadn’t already tried PS5 prototypes with a hybrid home console model for Switch or even with an eGPU for a portable device. However, in such cases, the hardware would likely be compatible with the PS4. The next console model will certainly have an upgraded hardware for the first time in Sony’s platforms.

GTA 6, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two – What Brings Them Together?

Five years ago, Grand Theft Auto V was released. Classified as the most profitable game of all time, the title of RockStar Games continues to be relevant in the market due to the wave of updates released at regular intervals. It also helps to have an online component very well set up.

However, fans of the series are looking forward to getting hold of GTA VI. Rockstar publisher has refrained from making any statement about the subject, but some information from sources close to the company has begun to run over the internet.

The big release still waits

Grand Theft Auto 6 should be released sometime in 2021 – 2022. Although that date seems very distant, it is important to note that in the past, around five years, a new Grand Theft Auto has been built.

During the development period, the same source drew attention to the fact that the game is titled Project Americas. It is only when the launch and online trailer arrives that it will be renamed Grand Theft Auto 6. The action of the future game will be played equally in the United States and South America. Depending on the mission he is trying to do, a player will fly from one side to the other between the two regions of the world. Old Vice City could also embody an important role in the game.

In view of the launch of the title for over 3-4 years, it will be interesting to see which platforms will be supported at the time, if not new consoles.

GTA 6, Xbox Two and PlayStation 5

If GTA 6 needs another 3-4 years to release, that means, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two probably will be already in the stores. But we don’t know the date Microsoft and Sony will bring up their products on the market.

The new fact in the game will be probably a female protagonist, so the game could attract women too.
