The Last of Us 2 Release Date and Other Details

A new edition of The Last of Us has been developed, and it’s ready to be soon unveiled. The developer Naughty Dog has been working on The Last of Us 2 even if the ending of the first series was decisive enough.

Because the first game was much praised and acclaimed by players and critics and loved for its emotional narrative and realistic characters, the choice to release a new sequel wasn’t entirely surprising. The Last of Us Part II was first made known by Naughty Dog at PlayStation Experience back in 2016 and came with a trailer, and as we are heading to the middle of 2019 already, we hope to hear of an official launch date soon.

The Last of Us Part 2 trailers

The latest trailer for The Last of Us 2 was unveiled at E3 2018, at long last giving us a glance at Ellie in a private setting, before moving to some of the harsh battle founded on stealth we can expect to see in the upcoming game. Scenarios of the game show Ellie fighting to survive in the wilderness. To win the fight, it needs a perfect balance between stealth and assault as destruction appears to have a much more realistic effect.

Another trailer for the game had been shown during PSX 2017. It was fixed that the game will have Seattle as background, and the darker themes were retouched. The last trailer for The Last of Us 2 was revealed at Sony’s press conference in 2017, at Paris Games Week, and it targets the discord between the factions of the game, attempting to show that the second game will have an incredibly dark story.

The Last of Us 2 Release date

According to the game’s composer, Gustavo Santaolalla, The Last of Us will be released in 2019, but it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. Sony’s Worldwide Studios boss, Shawn Layden has announced that The Last of Us 2 will feature at its E3 conference on June 11.
The Last of Us 2 now has two directors, now that Neil Druckmann has been promoted to Vice President: Anthony Newman and Kurt Margenau were both head designers on Uncharted 4.

The Last of Us 2 will take place in the city of Seattle, after five years of the first game ended, with a 19-year-old Ellie as the principal character. Joel will still show up in the game, but it might be more of a passive presence. According to the trailer, Ellie is looking for revenge, promising to ‘kill every last one of them.’ Who is ‘them’ is not clear, but it could mean that the Fireflies of the original game’s grey antagonists might show up.

Because of Joel’s passive appearance in the trailer, theories have been made of him being dead, and Ellie’s anger and wish for revenge might be targeted for those who are of fault for his death.  The game will come with an incredibly dark theme, perhaps more mysterious than the previous game’s, also including lots of violence. Neil Druckmann stated that the narrative would be about Ellie and Joel’s relationship and that would be added to the first game’s story, although much broader.

Also, it has been disclosed that Halley Gross, one of the scriptwriters of WestWorld will be co-writing the game’s narrative. We can expect a great storyline with such successful writers to work.

The Last of Us Part 2 Gameplay

It isn’t much known about the gameplay, but what we do know is that some variations will be made as Ellie’s the playable character more so than Joel. However, if Naughty Dog will go on the path many go with female characters, Ellie would possibly be much faster than Joel was but probably not likely to take much damage.

There might be a new setting, more enemies, and new multiplayer game mode

Druckmann reported that the second story would be much larger than the first one narrative and we hope to see a unique setting to give the game a fresh and more believable introduction. Besides, the infected from the first game which is frightening and sinister, new characters and additional or new methods to eliminate them would be great.

If the game’s narrative were as dense as we anticipate, it would be beneficial to be able to take a break for a few minutes without having to leave the game and connect with others online.
