As the event is approaching a new rumor has surfaced, offering more details about the supposed released date of the title. According to reliable sources the new rumor claims that the game will be released during Q3 2019. As expected, it was embraced with enthusiasm by many fans who wish to learn more about the fate of Ellie.

The Last of Us 2 Release Date Announcement Might Come Soon

It is also inferred that the official The Last of Us 2 release date will be announced with the help of a trailer which could be released by the end of this week. The rumor was popularized by two gaming websites which claim that sources who are close to Sony offered the information.

It is essential to keep in mind the fact that any rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. Many gaming websites shared exciting news in the past, but in some cases, they failed to materialize. However, in this case, the rumor is reinforced by another one, which suggests that Sony plans to release a trailer for a new first-party game in the following week, and it is likely that The Last of Us 2 is the game in question.

This scenario appears to be quite possible, but we should take into account the fact that Sony may tease a different game, and even if the trailer does showcase this title, there is no guarantee that the game will be released in the autumn. The Last of Us 2 is currently in development for the PlayStation 4.

The Last of Us 2  is an upcoming third-person action-adventure survival video game and is a sequel to 2013’s The Last of Us. It is probably one of the most anticipated games of 2019 and it is expected to be surrounded by gossips and speculations.

A Peruvian retailer, LawGamers, has released recently a promotional poster stating that the Last of Us 2 is going to be launch sometime during the month of October, this year. However, Naughty Dog, one of the most successful and prolific game development studio who is producing the game has not yet committed to a release date.

In a recent tweet, Neil Druckmann, the Vice President of Naughty dog has confirmed that the cinematic shooting of the game was finalized giving hopes of a release in the immediate future.

However, on the PlayStation website, the game is listed as a coming soon release along with Rage 2 and Days Gone. One of the Co-Directors, Anthony Newman mentioned that they are working on “close out” the work they are doing on the game. He tweeted recently that the company is looking to hire programmers, game designers and animators and this is confirming the fact that they are indeed in the final stages of development.

As in any other company, the recruiting is only the first stage before training and then get them to work on this specific project it might take few months until these new employees will start working on finalizing the game and actually “close out”. Even though it might take another year for the release, these are nevertheless good news for the fans.

To conclude, even though the cinematic shootings were done and the company is hiring staff to finalize the game it is quite unlikely that the game will be published in October 2019.

However, according to Akoji, a known Sony insider, there is a high probability that we are going to get details on the video game even sooner than we thought.

It seems that Naughty Dog, the game-developing studio owned by Sony, will make an official announcement soon. It is not known yet if this means we are going to get a release date or a new trailer, but we sure are excited. The Last Of Us 2 announcement is expected to drop towards the end of this month.

Of course, this information is not official, as it is only a leak. There have also been many rumors regarding the official release date of the video game, but Sony hasn’t confirmed anything yet. Still, fans are hoping to hear new details about The Last Of Us 2 as soon as possible.
