WhatsApp Messenger 2.19.120 Beta Now Available

WhatsApp Beta program has been quite active in these past days, which can only mean great news for the new stable WhatsApp build. The Facebook Developer Conference begins tomorrow, April 30, and lasts until May 1, which could be one of the reasons we keep on seeing more improvements and features added to the popular messaging app. At the event also known as F8, the developers will show their plans for WhatsApp, just like they did last year when they presented their work which focused on group calls and stickers.

WhatsApp 2.19.120 Beta – Getting Ready for F8?

The 2.19.120 beta version was just aired today, and it’s about 33.62 MB big. However, the guys at WABetaInfo haven’t written anything about it yet, except for informing the beta users on Twitter to always back up the chat history before updating the app:

When there is a new WhatsApp update for iOS or Android, you should always back up your chat history before updating WhatsApp. An update might contain critical bugs that force you to uninstall WhatsApp: if you backed up the chat history, you’ve no need to worry.

In a fresh update, they also explained that there is no “nudge” feature in this update:

As for the Facebook Conference, they mentioned that among other news from the developers, we will see the features that are still not yet (or not fully added) in the beta version:

What we expect from the Facebook conference this year? Calls from WhatsApp Web, Animated Stickers, Dark Mode, Group Privacy Settings and good news about Windows Phone support and Payments!

However, the developers could also talk about the new UI (also dubbed “Vacation Mode”), and many other new features that haven’t been added yet.

Check back here for more news about WhatsApp, which should be available as soon as F8 starts unveiling more about the plans devs have for this app!

WhatsApp Update Download Available with Major Video Changes

WhatsApp will come with a new update soon that’s going to be a huge change for it. We all know how popular this app is – there are over 1.5 billion users every month. Only this year, the app has seen a lot of change, now that it has stickers and group video calling (and we know that’s just the tip of the iceberg).

A very good source, WABetaInfo – the news portal – has shown that the app is currently in the process of rolling out a new update. And it’s among the best ones so far.

It was also a post in Business Today, in which it was said that the feature is coming for the iOS beta users who have the app installed, the 2.18.102.5 version. This feature will allow its users to view video previews in a message notification bar.

As of yet, the notifications from Whatsapp are showed on screen, with the name of the sender and a short snapshot of the video. It’s not something bad if it’s something silly, such as a cute cat. But what if it’s not a cute cat, but something more problematic? Maybe it’s something embarrassing, and it would be so much more embarrassing if they want to preview the video around someone in public, or around a member of the family. The update will be soon available in the App Store.

There are other features in the plan, too

With this update, new features will come, too – 2 more additions, to be exact. There’s a new system of adding contacts. You know you can add contacts directly from the app, but apparently, this new feature will come with a redesigned look of the very same function.

2018 was WhatsApp’s year for bad and good changes and its last update it just the whipped cream on top. If you are a Samsung user, then you must update your app right now in case you have not done that already.

If you are not the type of person to keep up with WhatsApp’s announcements and updates, there is a lot you lost track of. To make it all more comfortable for you, there is a list below which can help you update your information.

Major Updates for Samsung

The app’s overall performance of WhatsApp was improved in a matter of way this year especially for Samsung devices and other compatible Android ones. The following are what we have been waiting for.

See forwarded texts – You can finally make the difference between an initially sent message and a forwarded now. In case your boyfriend sends morning texts to other chicks as well and forward one to you too, you will see it.

Customize Group Info – There is finally more transparency in the groups are you can set descriptions and quickly see its members.

Option for Group Admins – WhatsApp’s latest and one of the best updates kept its focus o the group admins. At the moment, if you have a Samsung phone or other Android compatible one, only the admins on groups can send messages there, and the non-admins can reply solely through the private message option.

If you are a Samsung user than you must have taken advantage of these new features and update by now. WhatsApp does not stop improving, and we can’t see what it has in the pipeline for us.

WhatsApp Update Affects User Safety – Simple Solution To Fix It

Since WhatsApp has the option to block contacts, you would expect them to actually stay this way. However, after the latest app update, things went wrong. Last week, many users complained that they were still getting messages from these people despite blocking them. Moreover, these contacts reappeared in their contact list.

Are there any other options affected by this update?

Fortunately, other user options have been unaffected. The latest WhatsApp update has targeted group chat features such as limiting the number of members in a group chat as an admin or blocking any potential re-invites in an unwanted group.

However, a few weeks ago, a random “black dot” message appeared on the app screen and if it was clicked, it would download thousands of tiny characters and affect the phone’s CPU and render messaging capabilities, crashing the device in the end. You simply receive a message with very little visible text and a black circle emoji next to it. It can’t even be stopped by the traditionally close and then re-open the app method. Instead, not even restarting your phone doesn’t do wonders.

There is a relatively simple solution to this problem

For the app to finally take your option into account, people must toggle it on and off similarly to notifications. You simply remove the blocked contact from your Address Book and then you block it again. Users would have been better without having to do this again and again but it is still a simple method to block them for good.

It seems that the company has encountered various problems during the past few weeks. WhatsApp hopes to get back on the right tracks with the newly implemented options regarding group limitation, personalized description and keeping in touch – or not – with others.
