GBWhatsApp Vs. WhatsApp – Is The Mod Better Than The Original?

WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app for Android and iOS. It comes with a lot of features, and its devs are always working to add some more and increase the app’s stability and performance. However, there are some functions that WhatsApp is not boasting, even though plenty of users would love to see them in the instant messaging application. GBWhatsApp, a mod of the original WhatsApp, is offering some premium features that WhatsApp has not yet added. So, GBWhatsApp might be the right option for many users. One question is now shaping up – Is the mod better than the original?

WhatsApp Features

The primary function of WhatsApp is to help people communicate for free as long as they are connected to the Internet. Users can text their contacts, engage voice calls and video calls, while they can also join groups and participate in group calls or group video calls, as well. Also, WhatsApp is fun to use with its many emoticons, stickers, and so on. Nonetheless, WhatsApp is also permitting users to share documents, images, GIFs, and videos.

You can join WhatsApp with only your phone number, choose a profile pic, change your status, customize the chat window, block annoying contacts, delete specific texts within chats, share your conversations on social media directly from WhatsApp, and so on. Therefore, WhatsApp is more than just a casual instant messaging app. Can GBWhatsApp bring more?

GBWhatsApp is WhatsApp But With Improvements

In short, GBWhatsApp features all the WhatsApp functions and elements, but also comes with unique services. First, GBWhatsApp allows users to create dual WhatsApp accounts in case they need it. If so, users can switch from one account to the other in just a few seconds, or they can open and use both of them simultaneously. Also, one can send 100 documents, 50 images, and videos of up to 30 Mb in one go, and users can also send a message to up to 600 contacts at the same time.

GBWhatsApp also comes with an auto-reply functionality and a DND mode so users won’t receive notifications. Besides, GBWhatsApp allows us to block incoming calls from specific contacts, personalize the app entirely with widgets, pop-up screens, and more, and lock chats or the app itself with a password without using third-party software.

GBWhatsApp Vs. WhatsApp – Is The Mod Better Than The Original?

As it’s almost always available with applications, it’s also a matter of taste and habit. But judging strictly according to the features GBWhatsApp and WhatsApp boast, then GBWhatsApp comes with all the WhatsApp features plus some unique functions you’ll not find in the original app.

So, is the mod better than the original? In my opinion, yes since GBWhatsApp boasts a lot more handy features than WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging application, and there are some excellent reasons for that. First, WhatsApp is entirely free to use as long as you have unlimited data plan or use WiFi connection to send messages and call your friends with WhatsApp. Secondly, WhatsApp is more than a messenger application, as it’s also allowing users to share files with their contacts.

Besides, WhatsApp permits group chats, and it also comes with a web-based version that you can use on desktop PCs. Nonetheless, you don’t need to sign up on WhatsApp as you do on Facebook or Twitter for example. All you have to do is to enter your phone number, verify it within the app via SMS or voice call, and that’s all.

Most Known Problems with WhatsApp and How To Fix Them

I can’t manage to install WhatsApp

The latest version of WhatsApp can be download only if your smartphone runs Android version 2.3.3 or higher. If you are not sure of the Android version, you can always check it by going to Settings and then to About Phone.

If the place where you want to download this app from is its official website, before doing that you would need to enable the Unknown Sources in your settings.

The activation code was not sent to me

If you did not encounter any problems with the installation, but then the automatically generated message with your activation code simply does not want to do anything with you, then the first step would be to check if your number is correctly written. The next step would be to check the country, and if those two are accurate, then you should receive the code.

If receiving the code does not work, you should choose the voice call in which a computer will read the code to you over the phone.

Do not forget that a SIM is mandatory to register for WhatsApp. Another such thing would be that per phone number only one device can be used.

WhatsApp is down, I can’t connect to WhatsApp or WhatsApp is not working

The connection problems of WhatsApp are usually caused by your network data connection or your Wi-Fi. Here are a few solutions in case you can’t send a message:

One of the most straightforward steps would be to ensure that your phone is switched on.

Using Play Store, install WhatsApp’s latest version.

Go to Settings then to Wireless and Network and check your Wi-Fi, internet connection or 4G.

Do not forget that WhatsApp can be affected by Task Killer apps so check those.

WhatsApp For Android Now Added A Sort Of Picture-In-Picture Feature

WhatsApp adds a feature that will delight YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook users. Users who download the latest version of WhatsApp for Android will enjoy what iPhone users already have – now users can watch the videos in a floating window without leaving the chat.

The instant messaging service WhatsApp has incorporated in its latest version for Android devices the PiP (Picture-in-Picture) mode, which allows viewing videos from YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram without leaving the application. As the release notes detail, WhatsApp users will no longer be redirected out of the application when they try to play a video from one of the before-mentioned platforms.

Now, WhatsApp users can watch videos from YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram in a floating window while they continue chatting with their friends.

WhatsApp For Android Now Allows Users To Play Videos In A Floating Window, Without Leaving The App

According to WhatsApp, the user can move the floating window or resize it, as well as play the videos in the full screen within the popular instant messaging application. However, to enjoy this feature, it is necessary to send the videos through the “Share” button. Accordingly, the new function in WhatsApp is entirely useless if you just copy and paste the link to the video. Also, the videos will close if you start a conversation with another contact besides the one who sent you the video.

WhatsApp has now rolled out the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode for Android that will allow users to view videos within a chat window, without opening third-party pages or apps.

This feature appeared in October in a WhatsApp Beta version for the Android Oreo, and now it has been officially introduced in WhatsApp 2.18.380 stable version which can be downloaded from Google Play Store. iPhone users, on the other hand, have enjoyed a similar function since the beginning of the year.

Android Users Receive WhatsApp Picture-in-Picture Mode

WhatsApp’s latest update came with the picture-in-picture mode. This feature is only available for Android users, as iOS users have already received it more than a year ago. For those who don’t know, the PiP mode allows users to watch videos from third-party sources within the WhatsApp application. This is a lot more convenient. For example, if a friend sends you a link, you won’t have to leave the chat in order to watch it. And when you are done you can reply right away.

Some Android users were able to test this mode since October, as PiP became available in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android. Since the feature worked smoothly, it was finally time to add it to the app. If this feature is not available yet for you, go to Google Play Store and download the latest WhatsApp version.

Watching videos in the app

The update allows you to watch videos from various websites while still in the WhatsApp application. You can watch videos from Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and others. When tapping the video you won’t be directed to the external page. Each video will have a blurred thumbnail, as well as the logo of the platform.

Once you start playing a video it will cover the top half of the window chat. If you wish to, you can make it play on the entire screen. The video bar will also be available, which means that you will be able to scroll to the videos if you want to skip certain parts.

WhatsApp version 2.18.380 is the version that comes with the Picture-in-Picture mode. Make sure that you update your app in order to use it. PiP works for all compatible Android devices, and it works in both group chats and individual ones.
