iPhone 11 Might Boast A Side-Mounted Touch Bar Display

The future iPhone 11 might come out with a second screen in a feat similar to what we see on the MacBook Pro. The iPhone 11 could feature this side-mounted touch bar display to give quick access to some applications.

Even though Apple has recently released its iPhone 2018 models, dubbed iPhone XS, XS Max, and iPhone XR, people’s attention redirected to the future 2019 iPhone models. While we don’t know yet how the next year’s Apple smartphones would be named, the majority of the reports indicate to iPhone 11 or XI.

However, increasingly more rumors are coming out talking about new features on iPhone 11. In a recent leak, spotted by PatentlyApple, the Cupertino-based company is working on a side-mounted touch bar display for its 2019 iPhone models. According to PatentlyApple, Apple filed a patent showing the project of the second screen the company plans to add to iPhone 11.

iPhone 11 Might Boast A Side-Mounted Touch Bar Display

As the patent indicated, the side-mounted touch bar display would be a handy feature in iPhone 11, allowing users to turn on the WiFi or data connection quickly, or, while using the camera, to access additional options, such as turning on/off the flashlight, zoom in/zoom out, and so on, without losing your grip. That would improve the quality of the images.

The best part of that, as the new patent filed by Apple revealed, is that the side-mounted touch bar display would also be available in 2019 iPad models and, most likely, in the super mobile MacBook variant. To add the side-mounted touch bar display to the next-year iPhone 11 model, Apple might work that out by implementing it within a strengthened glass side layer.

While this information came via a patent Apple recently filed, the Cupertino-based company did not yet confirm that the side-mounted touch bar display would indeed come out along with iPhone 11. Most probably, we’ll find out more details about 2019 iPhone models early next year since iPhone 11 models would more likely come out in September 2019.
