Twitter Launches A New Web Interface With A New Emoji Button

Twitter, one of the most popular social networks, along with Facebook, launches a new web interface for its web-based version with new features and visuals, including a new emoji button. Besides, there are also new shortcuts added to the interface, plus some a revamped trending section.

Twitter announced that the new web interface is already available for some of the users of the social network. The web-based Twitter version would ask the eligible users to try the new GUI if they want. Twitter, even though noted that the new web interface would roll out for everybody in the future, did not reveal when the new Twitter would launch globally.

“A new twitter.com is coming. Some of you got an opt-in to try it now. Check out the emoji button, quick keyboard shortcuts, upgraded trends, advanced search, and more. Let us know your thoughts,” stated Twitter.

Among the most significant updates the new web interface brings, there are tiny shortcuts to make tweeting easier, a large emoji button for users to add emojis much more comfortable than before,  a redesigned trending section, and small aesthetic updates that impact the conversation windows on Twitter.

Twitter concentrated its web-based version into only two columns (from three columns, before), and now, with the new updates, it would be straightforward for users to read and post tweets.

However, keep in mind that this new web interface that Twitter already rolled out for some of its users doesn’t represent the previously announced updates that would include status updates and reply functionality. These two features are not yet available in the final versions of Twitter. Also, we don’t know how many users would enjoy the new and revamped Twitter web interface. Those who are eligible will receive an option in their Twitter accounts to switch to the new GUI.
