Twitter Launches A New Web Interface With A New Emoji Button

Twitter, one of the most popular social networks, along with Facebook, launches a new web interface for its web-based version with new features and visuals, including a new emoji button. Besides, there are also new shortcuts added to the interface, plus some a revamped trending section.

Twitter announced that the new web interface is already available for some of the users of the social network. The web-based Twitter version would ask the eligible users to try the new GUI if they want. Twitter, even though noted that the new web interface would roll out for everybody in the future, did not reveal when the new Twitter would launch globally.

“A new twitter.com is coming. Some of you got an opt-in to try it now. Check out the emoji button, quick keyboard shortcuts, upgraded trends, advanced search, and more. Let us know your thoughts,” stated Twitter.

Twitter Launches A New Web Interface With A New Emoji Button and More

Among the most significant updates the new web interface brings, there are tiny shortcuts to make tweeting easier, a large emoji button for users to add emojis much more comfortable than before,  a redesigned trending section, and small aesthetic updates that impact the conversation windows on Twitter.

Twitter concentrated its web-based version into only two columns (from three columns, before), and now, with the new updates, it would be straightforward for users to read and post tweets.

However, keep in mind that this new web interface that Twitter already rolled out for some of its users doesn’t represent the previously announced updates that would include status updates and reply functionality. These two features are not yet available in the final versions of Twitter. Also, we don’t know how many users would enjoy the new and revamped Twitter web interface. Those who are eligible will receive an option in their Twitter accounts to switch to the new GUI.

Best Tips to Get Leads For Your Business – Quora and Twitter Marketing Automation

Want Some More Leads For Your Business? Here Are Some Tips That Could Help

If you want your business to succeed, you need to promote your business in order to gain customers. Getting leads is essential if you do not want to fail. However, not all business owners know how to generate leads. We have a couple of tips that should help you get started when it comes to getting leads.

New technology is important

When you are investing money, new technology should be on your list of priorities. You should see which technology is popular and do your best to use matching marketing strategies. For example, nowadays most people use their smartphones in order to browse websites, which means that, in order to reach more users, you need to make sure that your advertisements are compatible with their devices.

Tweets are important

If you want users to engage with your content and pay attention to your tweets, you need to put in some effort. For example, including images in your tweets is very effective. You should also remember to use hashtags so that you can enlarge your audience. If you use the right hashtags, your content will be found by more users which means that you will get more leads.

In order to find more potential leads on Twitter you might need to use other tools as well. For example, there are websites that can tell you important details about your followers, such as the times when they tweet, or they location. You can use this information to adapt your tweets so that they will reach a wider audience.

Offer answers on Quora

Quora is a social network where persons post questions every day. Offering answers on Quora can be a way of making users notice your website. This isn’t something that requires a lot of effort and it can help you gain loyal customers.

Marketing automation

We live in the era of technology and you should take advantage of that. You don’t have to do everything on your own, especially when marketing automation tools exist. There are applications such as Drip which can be used to turn information about possible clients into actual leads.

Social media marketing is also important, so you might want to use management tools for that as well. You can create content queues and then create time slots for them so that they can be spread through the day.

Engaging with your leads

You need to engage with your leads if you want your business to be successful. A FAQ can be a great first step, but this is not enough. You will have to think about direct engagement as well. For example, you should try to add live chats or help centres or perhaps create a forum for your business. Customer service is essential, and someone should be available at all times.

Use both outbound and inbound marketing

It is recommended that you combine outbound and inbound marketing because they both have their advantages. Usually, outbound marketing tends to be more effective, but this does not mean that you should ignore inbound marketing.

If we are talking about the inbound approach, you should make sure that you are involved in online communities and you share content constantly. Communication is also vital and you should do your best to solve your customers’ issues.

LinkedIn

If you find it hard to get an audience, you should use websites that already have one. LinkedIn is a social network designed for businesses which can prove to be great if you are looking to promote your business and attract new clients.

Facebook And Twitter Debated The False Accounts and Fake News Topics Before the US Senate

The role of social networks in US elections continues to be scrutinized by the US Senate. After Mark Zuckerberg, now Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, and Sheryl Sandberg, number two at Facebook, were heard on September 5th regarding the foreign interference on these social networks in the perspective of the US elections.

“We are not proud,” said Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO. “We were not prepared and equipped for the immensity of the problems we discovered,” he added.

“We hope you can help us better understand how Twitter decides when to suspend or ban a user from the service, and what you do to ensure that such decisions are made without undue bias,” said Greg Walden, the President of the Commission, at the opening ceremony.

According to Jack Dorsey, Twitter failed to fight “abuse, harassment, troll armies, and bots propaganda.”

“We have been too slow to act,” also said Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook.

Facebook and Twitter reassured the US Senate that the measures against fake news and false accounts are still in place

In short, thousands of fake accounts leading hostile campaigns against Hillary Clinton had suddenly been shut down on Twitter and Facebook. That raised questions about Russia’s role in this matter, while, on the other side, Russia categorically denies this accusation.

Additionally, the US President Donald Trump blames Twitter and Facebook for ejecting conservative media from the social network, media that would be favorable to him.

“We do not take into account political views or party affiliation in the application of our policies and procedures,” said Jack Dorsey. “Impartiality is our guiding principle,” he added.

The renowned conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who was recently banned on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, came before the US Senate to express his dissatisfaction on this matter.

This hearing comes in the view of the mid-term elections scheduled for next November, while Facebook and Twitter wanted to reassure us that thousands of foreign accounts broadcasting fake news were reportedly deleted from these platforms.

Fake Cryptocurrencies Giveaways On Twitter Are Conducted By 15,000 Bots

A survey released yesterday, August 6th, uncovered the notorious phenomenon of Twitter accounts which promote fake cryptocurrencies giveaways, disclosing a network of about 15,000 scam bots, reported the CoinTelegraph.

The Twitter bots analyze, which still cheat unknowing users, originates from computer security firm Duo Security.

The project entailed 88 million Twitter accounts, which were discovered and ranked using a software program designed by engineers based on machine learning.

With only the last 200 tweets from every account, this software has uncovered a network of 15,000 bots that promote fake contests by impersonating a few of the most well-known characters in the crypto-verse.

“Users tend to trust a tweet even based on how often it has been tweeted or appreciated. Anyone who manages this particular botnet knows this, and has designed it to take advantage of this trend,” states Duo Security data scientist Olabode Anise in the news release that comes with the research.

A network of 15,000 bots are offering fake cryptocurrencies giveaways on Twitter

A number of industry figures who have been embodied by bots have renamed themselves on Twitter to indicate that they are not offering cryptocurrencies or crypto tokens, including Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who is now known as Vitalik Non-giver of Ether on Twitter.

“It’s important to analyze an account almost holistically, even looking at the metadata of the content,” added Olabode Anise.

“For example, these accounts usually tweet in short bursts, so the average time between tweets is very low. Documentation of these patterns of behavior can also be used to identify other malicious botnets,” the security expert continued.

Anise and the associate Jordan Wright will showcase their achievements at the Black Hat USA 2018 IT security briefing in Las Vegas on Wednesday, August 8th.

In reply to the research, Twitter said it knew about the issues and that ‘spam’ accounts would be less than 5% of all current accounts on the social network. The company also indicated that, in most instances, the false cryptocurrencies giveaways are concealed by default.

Cryptocurrency Scams On Twitter Tackled By Two Recently Rolled Out Apps

In order to address cryptocurrency scams on Twitter, two tools have been launched this month. These tools, the MetaCert Protocol Cryptocurrency and Scam Clerk, prevent scammers that deceive Twitter users by requesting cryptocurrency payments.

By using the tools is possible to detect fake accounts on Twitter and verify whether the published tweets come from the person being followed or from a forger seeking to defraud followers.

According to MetaCert CEO Paul Wash, MetaCert Protocol is an extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Opera that has been updated to be useful in the world of cryptocurrencies to identify cryptocurrency scams on Twitter. Currently, this app is in its beta version.

With a similar goal in mind, Scam Clerk does a kind of virus scan on the Twitter accounts, generating a dashboard pointing out the imitators that have been blocked. The app also lists all the scam accounts identified on the network. Through its bot, the application also scans the lists of friends and followers, providing additional data and statistics.

Hacking account to deploy cryptocurrency scams on Twitter

Hacking Twitter accounts for crypto scams is a trend that increased over the last few years as the use of cryptocurrency has become more popular. Despite being warned, many people still fall into the traps of cybercriminals.

After hacking into the accounts of people linked to the world of cryptocurrencies, cybercriminals often make promotions and offers in their name, asking for a deposit, or for crypto payments for entering false drawings or lotteries.

Usually, the cybercriminals ask Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH).

Twitter has been a breeding ground for scams despite the blue check mark that the network places to differentiate verified accounts. In spite of this, last February the TRON Foundation Twitter account was imitated entirely, with all profile pics, biography, and location. Faced with this situation, some users have expressed their complaints to the Twitter platform, demanding greater security measures.
