Red Dead Redemption 2 GME 2018 Presentation Deemed As Boring

The employees of a major retailer, GameStop, were given a presentation of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2. It was during the latest GME 2018 (ended on August 30th) when the GameStop employees got the chance to watch a 20-minute presentation of Red Dead Redemption 2, the next second title of the franchise owned by Rockstar Games.

Following this presentation, the employees shared their opinions on Reddit and the least we can say is that they are not happy with the title.

The 20-minute Red Dead Redemption 2 presentation deemed as bored

“Nice game, but most of the time, we saw a riding simulator. Very difficult to stay awake. The shooting scenes looked decent, but the bank robbery was slow. The game will be great and will sell like crazy, but this demo was very boring. Don’t get me wrong, I still think the game will be fantastic, just that the presentation was a bit boring to watch,” said one of those who watched the 20-minute Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer.

Others went even further by renaming the Rockstar’s game as Equestrian Simulator 2k19 and stated that the demo was painful to watch and boring.

While these words are cause for concern, other opinions on the Red Dead Redemption 2 demo reassure us a little

“To put things into context, everyone was exhausted from the past week, and that was the last thing they showed us,” another participant explained. “I dozed off for a minute, but the game is beautiful. The world looks so meticulously built, and the demo was a flawless example of the gameplay mechanics, the open world and the physics that the game can offer. I didn’t play the first episode and didn’t feel any excitement when I announced this sequel, but I left the presentation wanting to play it,” he added.

One thing is certain, the buzz surrounding the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 is far from finished, and new previews and presentations are expected in the forthcoming days.

Cory Barlog, Creator of God Of War, Discussed a Concept of a New Superman Game

Another excellent news comes from PAX West 2018 in Seattle where a statement by Cory Barlog, creator of God of War, hints at a Superman game. Barlog also talked about how the game would be like.

Barlog gave a series of ideas about a project on a new Superman game, meaning that the game is still in its theoretical phase and nothing should be taken as granted. He suggested that the new Superman game would feature a young Clark Kent who, while in school, he is getting aware of his superhero side

“I really love the Smallville TV show, and I really love the idea of playing with this concept of character [….] you have to go to school, but you’re also discovering that you’re the best American hero with your powers and it’s a kind of uncomfortable age that you have to balance,” said Cory Barlog, the creator of God of War.

Cory Barlog, the creator of God of War, hinted to a psychological Superman game

His next set of ideas involves branching out paths, where it would be impossible for Superman to save everyone, no matter what the player would do. Superman could even hear the characters’ pleas for help everywhere, and he’d tear between trying to save everyone, but it would still fall short.

“I think the best thing you can do with a Superman game is to explore the psychology of what it would be like to be a person who is slowly beginning to realize that he can’t save everyone. As the game progresses, as the player does this kind of good deed […] everyone starts asking for help and this is where it all really begins,” Barlog added.

Also, according to Cory Barlog, the creator of God of War, the gamers would realize, as Superman, “that the method of brute force punching, the idea of just flying and constantly trying to save people individually, is not working.” So, the players “have to discover a different way because the ultimate goal, psychologically, is to maintain some kind of sanity, is to try to save everyone, which is a great idealistic concept,” Cory Barlog concluded.

We know that’s just a concept but it would be great to see this Superman game live, especially if it comes from the same team that created God of War.

Best VPN Services for Online Gaming

In case you are looking for a good VPN to play online securely, then keep on reading because we’re going to talk about the best VPN services for online gaming, at the moment.

If you are used to playing online, you may have heard that VPN is essential as it is basically allowing you to navigate on the Internet securely by encrypting your data over a server. In this report, we’re going to present you some of the best VPN providers for you to play online securely.

It’s true that you don’t need a good VPN to play online, but it will always be better and safer to use one. When choosing a Virtual Private Network service, many factors have to be taken into consideration such as the number of servers, speeds, security, latency, and price.

The best VPN services for online gaming

ExpressVPN seems like the best-optimized VPN nowadays. It offers a secure service and does not track player activity as other VPN providers do. ExpressVPN is also a reasonably large company, so it has enough servers to offer one of the best connections for every gamer to enjoy online gaming safely. Additionally, it is very affordable, at only $6.67 per month.

But just because ExpressVPN is the most affordable one, does not necessarily mean that it is always the best. For example, regarding speed, VyprVPN is the best as it can increase the users’ download speeds by up to 250%.

In terms of security, one of the best VPN services for online gaming remains the renowned NordVPN which, with 4,440 servers worldwide, offers 2048-bit encryption and DDoS protection on selected servers, although its monthly subscription is higher, reaching $11.95 per month, in the one-month plan.

In conclusion, a better VPN would be that one which combines high download speeds, lower latency, and excellent security. The best choice, however, remains NordVPN, but the other two are also reliable and depending on your needs might be the ones for you.

Apple Will Demand All App Store Apps To Link To Privacy Policies

Apple notified App Store apps developers to place links to their privacy policies, as shown by 9to5Mac. Until now Apple required that only for those subscription-based apps, but with this new decision, Apple extended this guideline to all App Store apps.

However, it’s not explicitly stated if the already-launched apps’ devs have to add links to privacy policy, but they should do it as soon as they release new updates. On the other hand, according to 9to5Mac, the developers must tell users how and what data the apps gather, as well as how the data is going to be used. The devs also have to detail how users unsubscribe and/or delete their private data.

The new guidelines will come in place on October 3rd, and Apple stated that the already-existing apps on the App Store that don’t show a privacy policy link are not obliged to add one until they roll out an update after October 3rd. Otherwise, apps that won’t comply with the new rules would be removed.

Apple adopts new privacy policy guidelines for App Store apps due to the recent issues regarding private data leaks

With all that Cambridge Analytica and Facebook scandal that emerged in March and the adoption of the GDPR across the European Union, protecting users’ private data has become crucial for developers and tech companies.

In order to avoid any possible issues, Apple adopted this new regulation regarding privacy and is now forcing App Store apps to add links to their devs privacy policies that explain to users what data the apps collect and how the information is used. However, Apple is not demanding this from already-existing apps if they don’t add new updates.

As mentioned, the new guidelines regarding privacy policies for the new App Store apps will come into effect on October 3rd.

DOOM 2 “Last-Standing” Secret Discovered A Couple Of Days Ago, After 25 Years

Approximately 25 years after the second Doom game launched, the Doom 2 “last-standing” secret was discovered a couple of days ago. John Romero, Doom co-creator, sent his congrats for the Doom player who made the discovery, Zero Master.

“CONGRATS, Zero Master! Finally, after 24 years! ‘To win the game, you must get 100% on level 15 by John Romero.’ Great trick getting to that secret!” said Romero on Twitter.

The secret area is located at Level 15: Industrial Zone in Doom 2 and, although gamers were aware of its existence, no one could enter that zone without using cheat codes. According to John Romero, solving this puzzle is virtually impossible under normal circumstances. However, when getting to that hidden region of the Level 15’s map, you’ll score 100% on secrets which would allow gamers to win the game instantly.

But, Zero Master, a nostalgic Doom player managed to solve out that mysterious puzzle, mostly by chance.

The “last-standing” secret of Doom 2 discovered 25 years after the game’s launch

“Secret explained – A secret teleporter is marked as a discoverable “secret,” but when you touch it, you never enter the sector. So you would never get inside the teleporter sector to trigger the secret. The only way to trigger this secret is to be pushed by an enemy into it!” explained John Romero on Twitter.

Accordingly, Zero Master is the only Doom 2 player in the whole world to score a perfect 100% on Level 15 without using cheats, as the video game has initially been coded.

What’s interesting is that following ports of Doom 2 considered this a bug and fixed it, establishing a link between the teleporter and the secret area. However, the original MS-DOS Doom 2 version, the one Zero Master was playing, was coded as such. Also noteworthy, Zero Master was also the first Doom player in the world to beat Doom 2’s sequel The Plutonia Experiment’s Nightmare difficulty level, back in 2015.

Below, you can see the Zero Master’s video on YouTube where he shows how he managed to beat Doom 2’s Level 15 with 100% secrets found, without cheating.
