How to Avoid Fake Adobe Flash Player Updates

The well-known Adobe Flash player has been affected by security vulnerabilities since 2017. Criminals can use them in order to infect users. Since the app has lost its popularity in recent years, Adobe has decided to end the support for Flash by 2020.

Beware the bait

Adobe does offer regular updates from time to time as it tries to keep it as safe as possible.  This prompted some malicious entities to come up with a whole new idea: fake or hijacked websites that will prompt you to install malware which looks like the real deal. The scam works in some cases, as users which are not particularly tech savvy will benevolently install the fake program.

Know the difference

In most cases, the user will visit a hacked site without knowing it. The site will flash a message that strongly encourages them to ‘’install the newest flash player update’’ usually in order to see a video or play a flash game. In most cases users will end up installing some form of malware and they will have to spend valuable time in order to remove it.

How to avoid them?

  • Here a few tips that will help you keep your system safe and minimize any risks you can encounter:
  • If a random page asks you to update your flash player, don’t do it. Go to the official Adobe website and download the latest update straight from the source.
  • As an IT manager or business owner, warn your colleagues and/or employees against this scam. Even one affected PC can compromise an otherwise secure network.
  • In order to keep your PC or network secure, you should opt for DNS-based protection services. They will add an additional layer of security, and protect you against several threats.
  • Update you flash player often. A recently released update addresses Spectre and Meltdown, two famous hardware vulnerabilities that render many modern PCs vulnerable to attacks.

The New Nintendo 64 Mini Release Date Leaks

The Nintendo 64 mini or N64 mini is a console which used to be so popular among players who provided the mother company with quite some revenue from their product. Unfortunately, no rumor about the Nintendo 64 mini consoled has received official confirmation from the main company, nor other information was provided, but you never know when something on the internet might end up being true. If Nintendo releases the console, it will come with old hit games that everybody misses. It will be the console of our childhood.

As Twitter and Reddit are so used for providing leaks about different topics, we reached out there. It looks like a person who goes by the name of Nacho & Pistachio twitted some pictures of the Nintendo 64 mini console that look pretty real. However, the pictures might not be camera-shot and actually created on a computer. Take a look at these images and share your opinion. Are they real or computer render?

N64 Release Date

If Nintendo announces the existence of this console, then it might be available for purchase by the end of this year if it will be following the previous miniature iterations’ same trend.

N64 Price Details

Taking everything into consideration and especially the fact that no official confirmation has been received for this mini console, we do not know the exact price of the N64 mini. However, we can still make our guesses. If we take into consideration the prices of NES and SNES mini, then this one should be about $100.

It is not too big of a price to pay for a console that would bring back the sweet feeling of childhood that everybody had been abducted from too early. The old games will offer you some relief.

iOS 12 Jailbreak Update – What Do You Need To Know?

Not too long ago, in the middle of September, Apple released its iOS 12 update and not too far from this came the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Moving on to this week, we saw the release of the iOS update, 12.0.1. While it is a tempting upgrade for a lot of users, those same users fear that a potential iOS 12 jailbreak might soon ensue. In fact, one of the biggest reasons not to upgrade to iOS 12 is represented by waiting for the jailbreak.

Recently, in late September, the Pangu team released the first details regarding the first iPhone XS jailbreak. In a clip released on Twitter, they showed off progress a PAC Bypass performed on the A12 processor found on the XS model. Since the news of the 12.0.1 being released hit the internet, it might tempt you to upgrade to the iOS 12, or if you are already up to date, you might want to move on to the 12.0.1. However, if jailbreaking is a huge deal for you, then you are better of waiting a while.

Several years ago, the jailbreaking scene was a little bit softer, although, despite of the fact that the scene got tougher, we already saw some proofs of concept jailbreaks being done on the iOS 12, besides some info being released by researchers of security. Ali Security, for example, showed off in a video an untethered jailbreak performed on the iOS 12.

Being shot just after the software was released is definitely a good sign but it is still not connected to a team that previously released one, neither a public release. Luca Todesco, a Yalu developer, also shared a demonstration of an iOS 12 beta 12 jailbreak. So far, we haven’t heard about a certain iOS 12 jailbreak release date, not even a hypothetical one, meaning that you should hold on to your patience.

iPad Pro 3 Next Changes, New Screen Resolution and Latest Leaks

Also called the iPad Pro 2018, the Pro 3 is perhaps one of the most expected tech devices of this year. We heard some news about it, this time in a mobile app analytics platform, Appsee. Apparently, it will feature a screen resolution that would be similar to the models released in 2017.

Another rumor suggests that this iPad will come with no headphone jack and it will be 5.9 inches thick. MacRumors said that Appsee managed to find out that the new iPad Pro models will feature the same screen resolutions as the current 12.9 inches and 10.5 inches models. The iPad 8,1 to 8,4 should come with 1112×834 points of display resolution, while the following models until 8,8 will boast 1366×1024 points of resolution.

What is important to know is that points of resolution don’t mean the same as pixel resolution. Apple applied a modifier, making every point to have four pixels, which will have the results looking like this:

  • 1,366×1,024 (2) = 2,732×2,048 pixels – The same screen resolution of the 2017 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
  • 1112×834 (2) = 2,224×1,668 pixels – The same screen resolution of the 2017 10.5-inch iPad Pro.

The overall size of both tablets is expected to shrink, despite the fact that they will come with the same display sizes as the ones released last year and they would still retain the aspect ratios (4:3). That’s due to the designer’s choice to opt for the appearance similar to the iPhone X that has an all-screen design.

As we already said, there are other rumors stating that the tablet will be 5.9 inches thick and it will not feature a headphone jack. The thickness aspect, however, represented the first ‘leak’ of a Twitter user so it lacks proper credibility so far, as it is the case of the headphone rumor as well.
