Unc0ver 3.2.0 For iOS 12 Jailbreak Rolled Out – iOS 12.2 Jailbreak Remains Impossible, For Now

With Apple’s WWDC19 already started, all the iOS users are focusing on the iOS 13 and other announcements made during the Cupertino-based company’s conference. However, at the same time with the beginning of the WWDC19, Unc0ver 3.2.0 solution for iOS 12 jailbreak rolled out. While the new version brings some improvements and tweaks, it is not dedicated to an iOS 12.2 jailbreak, unfortunately.

As it seems at the moment, iOS 12.2 jailbreak remains impossible, and nobody knows if or when it would be available, even more now when the iOS 13 is on its way.

What’s new in Unc0ver 3.2.0 iOS 12 jailbreak tool?

As reported by the Unc0ver lead developer, Pwn20wnd, the new Unc0ver 3.2.0 solution improves “the reliability of the jailbreak with the machswap and machswap2 exploits” and updates “jailbreak resources to fix an issue with the CS_DEBUGGED option.” Besides, the new Unc0ver 3.2.0 comes with bug fixes and reliability and performance improvements.

However, the most significant change in the popular iOS 12 jailbreak tool is the revamped user interface, something that many users of the solution have asked for some time. The design changes are impressive, and the UI is now better than ever. Even more, Unc0ver 3.2.0 brought the dark mode to iOS 12, a feature that is one of the most sought-after functions in iOS 13.

iOS 12.2 jailbreak remains impossible, at least for now

Even though the Unc0ver team is hard working to improve its iOS 12 jailbreak tool, it seems they still cannot jailbreak iOS 12.2. Also, other jailbreaking devs out there are also finding an iOS 12.2 jailbreak solution impossible at the moment. Besides, the security features implemented in the latest version of iOS 12 are making the work on a jailbreak solution for those OS a real challenge.

Nonetheless, with the iOS 13 just around the corner, jailbreak devs might not feel the need to put some effort in finally coming up with a reliable iOS 12.2 jailbreak solution. Accordingly, jailbreakers might just wait for the launch of iOS 13 and work on an iOS 13 jailbreak solution.

How to Fix Common Cydia Problems with Electra iOS 11.3.1 Jailbreak

This tutorial will show you how to fix common Cydia problems with the Electra Jailbreak on iOS 11.3.1.

Basically, when you notice a blanked out screen (with a spinner-shaped icon at the edge of the screen) after Electra’s UI has reached the second or third (final) stage, it means that the jailbreak operation was successful.

However, more often than not, users have encountered various forms of problems while running jailbreak with Electra, most notably the issues of “Cydia not showing up” and “Cydia crashing” during or after jailbreak.

To fix this, go to the next section.

Fix: Common Cydia Problems with Electra iOS 11.3.1 Jailbreak

Fix 1: Run UICache

This is the basic troubleshooting method often employed to fix this error, if and when Cydia fails to show up during/after a jailbreak operation (with Electra).

To run UICache on your iOS smartphone/tablet, follow the guidelines below:

  1. Obtain device’s Wi-Fi IP

Here’s how to do this:

  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi
  • Click on the ‘blue icon’ beside the ‘wireless network icon’.
  • Copy and paste the displayed IP in a safe location.
  1. Root your device in SSH

Here’s how to do this:

  • Go to your Mac
  • Open Applications/Utility > Terminal Application.
  • Type: “ssh root@<copied IP Address>”.
  • In the prompted window, input “yes” and press Enter.
  • Input the root password – “alpine” – and press Enter.
  • Once this done, your iPhone/iPad has become rooted; you can now proceed and run uicache.
  1. Run UICache
  • Simply type “uicache” in the designated panel and click Enter, and
  • Cydia should pop up on your smartphone or tablet in a couple of seconds.
  1. Hard reboot device

If Cydia still won’t come up, you can hard reboot your iOS device and see if it resolves the issue.

Fix 2: Resolve Crashing Cydia

If Cydia crashes after a jailbreak operation (using Electra), the issue is probably because your device is not in a jailbroken state.

To fix this, do the following:

  • Open Electra on your iPhone/iPad.
  • Check for the option – Enable Jailbreak. If you see Share Electra instead, it means your device is already in a ‘jailbroken’ state.
  • Tap on the Enable Jailbreak option
  • Repeat until device goes into ‘jailbroken’ state.

Note: You’d need to re-enable jailbreak (via Electra) each time you restart you device.

iOS 12 Jailbreak Unc0ver Is Better Than The Original iOS 12: Bug Fixes, New Features, Increased Stability And Performance

Millions of people from all over the world use iOS every day. While the OS developed by Apple is quite popular among the fan base nothing is perfect. Many fans faced some problems when they decided to update their device, and iOS 12 was affected by several issues. However, the iOS 12 jailbreak known as Unc0ver is better than the original iOS 12, according to the devs.

Since the first version of the iOS 12 update released, some users have complained that their devices don’t work as expected. In most cases, users weren’t able to connect to a mobile network even if they were in an area with full signal coverage. Others said that they were able to call and send or receive messages, but they couldn’t access mobile data.

Other issues appeared when Apple released a rushed update which aimed to address some functionality that was included in a lawsuit between the Cupertino company and Qualcomm. Apple aimed to solve these issues by releasing other patches, but some bugs continue to persist.

iOS 12 Jailbreak Solution Known As Unc0ver Fixes Lots of Bugs of The Original iOS 12, and It Adds New Features, As Well

A well-known iOS 12 jailbreak developer has announced that he and his team managed to remove many of the bugs which continue to plague the OS. The developer answered several questions on a popular platform and listed all the problems encountered by users as time passed.

He underlined the fact that the OS continues to suffer from random freezes, sudden reboots, and memory errors. A beta version of the iOS 12 jailbreak called Unc0ver is already available, and power users are already testing the solution. At this point, the solution isn’t stable, and it is advised to wait until a stable version is released at some point in the future.

As expected, Apple continues to oppose all forms of jailbreak. The company was against the practice since the first jailbreak appeared for the original iPhone. The act of installing a jailbreak solution on an Apple product would render the warranty void, which means that if something goes wrong, Apple will not repair or replace your device even if it was purchased recently. However, iOS 12 jailbreak named Unc0ver seems to be better than the original iOS 12, so it’s up to you if you install it or not.
