Microsoft Announced An Upcoming All-You-Can-Play Subscription For PC Users

Microsoft has some big things in store for PC gamers. In the future, gamers will be able to purchase an all-you-can-play subscription service that is very similar to the Xbox all-you-can-download Game Pass. We received this information from Satya Nadella, the CEO. However, there wasn’t an official announcement for the upcoming subscription service.

Nadella mentioned it in an earnings call when she discussed the importance of “increasing the strength of the community” focusing on the Xbox brand. She then added that “obviously, bringing Game Pass to even the PC is going to be a big element of that.”

The Game Pass subscription

The original Game Pass is available only on console and it was launched at the beginning of 2017. There is a 10$ fee and the users get access to more than two hundred games from 11 different studios. It will be quite tricky for Microsoft to bring it on PCs. That is because games available for PC require a different subscription.

This is also a good time to remember about Microsoft’s “Play Anywhere” initiative, one that attempted to bring games that can be bought for both the console and the PC. However, that project didn’t advance too much after they experienced some compatibility issues. Nonetheless, judging by Nadella’s statement, it is very likely that Microsoft managed to overcome them.

If the Game Pass subscription does become a reality for PCs, there is plenty of competition that it will have to face. Google Accused Of Covering Up Sexual Harassment Situations, According To A New York Times Report

According to the New York Times, Google got involved in a sexual harassment scandal involving several of its senior executives. This information was tempered by the company, which announced on Thursday that it had dismissed 48 employees for inappropriate behavior over the past two years.

In a survey published Thursday, the New York Times revealed that Google had suppressed three cases of sexual harassment that occurred internally. That led to a rapid reaction from the General Manager, Sundar Pichai. He pointed out that 48 employees had been dismissed over the past two years for sexual harassment, among them being involved about 13 senior managers. He also pointed out that no dismissed employees had received severance pay.

However, the New York Times claims in its investigation that Andy Rubin, the mastermind behind Android, was allegedly obliged to leave Google in 2014, accused by sexual harassment. However, Gooogle would have paid him $90 million to quit

“Any relationship Mr. Rubin had while at Google was consensual and did not involve anyone under his direct orders. He had a consensual relationship in 2012. To his knowledge, at that time, there were no internal rules prohibiting relations between employees,” Sam Singer said.

However, on the other hand, in his internal letter, Sundar Pichai reminded its employees that the company now requires senior managers to disclose any intimate relationship with another Google employee. The issue here is that researchers know which trees are great for timber, but more research is needed in order to identify the trees that excel at removing C02 from the atmosphere.

While planting trees is a noble effort, more needs to be done in order to protect existing forests since prevention is cheaper than treatment. Reforestation after natural disasters is a first step, while limiting the amount of timber turned into firewood would also help.

Better agricultural guidelines

Planting cover crops on barren fields is a sure way to boost oxygen generation and better agricultural guidelines are needed in order to help farmers to grow sustainable cultures.

BECCS or biomass energy with carbon capture and storage involves the use of energy crops that consume large amounts of CO2.The crops would then be burned at specialized plants which will convert the energy into electricity while collecting the released CO2 in artificial underground deposits.

Other methods are also being explored, like the use of carbon mineralization.

It remains to be seen which methods will prove to be most effective in the long run as more countries join the Paris climate agreement.

New York Court Dismisses the Lawsuit Against Nano (NANO) Devs in the Bitgrail Case

The judge of the district of New York, Nina Gershon, recently rejected the class action lawsuit on the developers of the Nano (NANO) cryptocurrency for the case of hacking that affected the Bitgrail crypto exchange, which generated losses of up to $200 million at that time. “The value of Nano (NANO) is not derived from a group of managers or executives who manage other people’s property; rather, the value of Nano is derived from its usefulness or potential usefulness as a cryptocurrency,” Nano (NANO) devs stated.
