BitTorrent Founder, Bram Cohen, Left The Company Leaving It In The Hands Of Tron Foundation

Last month, in July, we received the news that Tron Foundation headed by Justin Sun, one of the largest startups in the cryptocurrency world today, had bought BitTorrent and all the tools that are part of the company, such as uTorrent and others. And now, Bram Cohen, the inventor of BitTorrent and co-founder of the company, has abandoned the ship, preferring to focus on working on his own cryptocurrency.

Bram Cohen has always been more interested in the technical side of everything than in business, and it seems that he had long ago given up on BitTorrent, a company that he could never really capitalize on despite his various attempts at monetization, other than advertising.

The founder of BitTorrent is now busy trying to make a cryptocurrency that’s not an energy disaster

Currently, he is investing all his time and efforts in ChiaNetwork, in particular, aiming to create a blockchain technology that is demanding less energy consumption than the current ones, as Bram has criticized a lot the fact that crypto mining for coins such as Bitcoin (BTC) is an energy and environmental disaster.

Now, with Chia, Bram Cohen basically wants to create a “green cryptocurrency.”

“I have no relationship with Tron,” said Bram Cohen when asked about his involvement in the new Tron’s project regarding BitTorrent.

BitTorrent ends up a cycle of its life and emerges into a new one along with Tron (TRX)

After the acquisition of BitTorrent by Tron Foundation, Justin Sun, founder of the startup and Tron (TRX), didn’t take long to comment on his future plans, which include not only “improving” the BitTorrent technology by integrating it with Tron’s, but also the future plans of encouraging seeders to pay with cryptocurrency, more specifically with Tron (TRX).

With Bram Cohen entirely out of the project, BitTorrent will undoubtedly end up a cycle of its life and emerges in a new one ruled by Tron. Only time will tell if it will succeed in the new direction it is going on, but ultimately, it will never be what it was for the Internet industry.

Three Crypto Hackers Arrested In China, Accused Of Stealing $87 Million In Bitcoin (BTC) And Other Cryptos

Three crypto hackers, suspected of committing the most massive theft related to cryptocurrency in China, were arrested by Chinese police after a coordinated operation in several cities, according to local press reports. The hackers stole Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptos with a total value of 600 million yuan (about $87 million) after they hacked into people’s and companies’ computers.

According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua, the police investigation began in late March, when a citizen named Zhang went to the Xian City Public Safety Office to report that his computer had been hacked. The victim stated that in the attack he was robbed of 100 million yuan, about $15 million, in Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

With the help of several undisclosed internet companies, the investigators followed up on the transactions that led them to a suspect identified as Zhou. Subsequently, Zhou’s communications led to two alleged associates in the criminal operation.

The three cybercriminals reportedly used sophisticated computer techniques to access their victims’ computers remotely and then cover their tracks, leaving little trace of the cyber attacks. In this way, they were able to steal approximately 600 million yuan, equivalent to $87 million, in digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), from multiple personal and business computers.

The crypto hackers arrested in China for stealing $87 million in Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptos used sophisticated techniques to avoid detection

The local South China Morning Post noted that “the three suspects had been studying hacking technology since they were 12-13 years old and had worked for major Internet companies.

The Chinese police also reported that hackers divided the proceeds from the sale of stolen cryptocurrencies into smaller units and conducted multiple transactions in an attempt to avoid detection. This operation required the analysis of 30,000 pieces of evidence, according to the local news portal.

The suspects were arrested on August 5th during a joint and simultaneous police operation in Hunan, Changchun and Beijing provinces. The case will remain open until further investigations.

About a month ago, cybercriminals in China were hit by another blow, as the Chinese police arrested 20 people belonging to the technology firm Dalian Shengping Network Technology for spreading crypto mining malware on over one million computers. This activity brought hackers illicit profits of $2 million over the past two years.

US Judge Ordered Hacker To Pay His $750,000 Bail In Cryptocurrency

On August 9th, a federal judge in San Francisco, California, ordered a defendant to post his $750,000 bail in cryptocurrency. Martin Marsich was accused of hacking into the website of the video game company Electronic Arts and obtaining illegal access to the records of more than 25,000 of the company’s customers.

Marsich was arrested on August 8th in San Francisco and made his first appearance in federal court the next day, according to a press release from the Northern District Attorney’s office in California. The charges filed include illegal access to financial data on 25,000 Redwood City Electronic Arts customers.

Judge Jacqueline Corley set bail at $750,000 and ordered the defendant to pay it in cryptocurrency so that he could be transferred to a supervised minimum-security center.

Judges have the power to order that bail be posted on any type of assets, said the assistant US Attorney for the Northern District of California, Abraham Simmons.

Martin Marsich, who hacked into the Electronic Arts database, ordered to pay his $750,000 bail in cryptocurrency

While the judge in the case has not told the media about the reasons for setting bail in cryptocurrency, some of the charges against Marsich did not relate to cryptos, but to the use of coins issued by some games. Those coins, which are purchased or won in competitions, allow customers to buy items to be used in such games or to create accounts with access to the games.

After Marsich’s intrusion was discovered, the affected company closed the affected accounts, which totaled a loss of $324,000, according to the Northern District Attorney’s Office of California.

Also noteworthy, the first federal sentence in the United States involving cryptocurrency, more specifically, the Bitcoin (BTC), took place in July 2016, when the Federal Court in Manhattan found Trendon Shavers guilty of federal tax fraud and sentenced him to 18 months in prison. He was also sentenced to pay back $1.2 million in BTC to 48 investors. The defendant ran a Bitcoin investment firm, where he promised weekly profits of 7%, among other offers.

Minecraft: Story Mode is a Great Experience with Narrative Touch

An old game

Being available on almost every platform, from PC to smartphones, Minecraft is a very popular game. Millions of people around the role have enjoyed the game fighting for their life in survival, creating an amazing building on the creative ode or merely playing a benevolent hero in adventure mode.

A fresh twist

Made in collaboration with Telltale Games, Minecraft: Story Mode adds a surprisingly well-working element: narration. It masterfully encapsulates what made Minecraft great while offering the storytelling features and branched narratives for which Telltale games are known.

The narrative touch

The story manages to feel original and familiar at the same, featuring well-known shenanigans from the fan favorite voxel-based game. One outstanding element is the pig, serving as a terrific comedic relief. It shines a whole new light on how a real universe based on Minecraft may look like.

What you do matters

In classic Telltale fashion the choices you take shape up the story in a different way. Certain characters will remember what you did and they may favor or disfavor you later in the game based on what you did. At the end of each chapter, you will see which choice was the most popular among fellow players.

Busy for a while

The adventure will keep you busy for quite a while. Season one features eight episodes while season two already features five launched episodes and more in the making.  As different choices lead to different results, there is also a sizeable replay value that is well worth your hard earned cash.

Gentle on your system

The game is quite soft the system requirements side. You need an Intel Dual Core, 3GB of RAM and a 512MB RAM video card, which means that it should be playable even on relatively new budget laptops.

The game is also available for the mobile and console platforms. Enjoy!

Saints Row 5 Fully-fledged Multiplayer Leaks

With the great reviews and public reception received by Saints Row IV you would think a new sequel should have been launched years ago. Sadly that was not the case as poor choices led gamers away from Volition, which is now struggling to convince Deep Silver that is worthy to get another chance.

Loyal fans however still dream that one day they will receive a sequel. Here is a list of the most coveted features that should bring the popular franchise back to life.

Fully-fledged multiplayer

While co-op multiplayer was a feature in previous Saints Row games, a full multiplayer mode would make many fans happy.  It would make lots of activities better and it would also allow for more sales (as Grand Theft Auto Online helped GTA V become the monolith it is today.

Customizations

In-depth customization features are also wanted. Previous game featured character customizations but things like body parts editing. Complex tattoos and companion customization would be more than welcome. Even if they are locked behind micro-transactions, adding some sort of earnable in-game method would make them far more attractive. They should avoid lootboxes though.

Bring it back to the roots

One of the greatest mistakes that Volition committed was going too far away from what made Saints Row fun in the first place. Saints Row IV was basically a dream come true for many fans. But Saints Row Gat out of Hell was a shell of a game filled to the brim with fun activities but almost no story content.  And Agents of Mayhem was a flop, even though it shared many of the features that made the previous installments great.

Rumored release date

With Red Dead Redemption launching this year and GTA VI supposedly in the making Volition needs to strive in order to launch it in a convenient timeframe. Let us hope that the date will come before it is dismissed as another death franchise.
