PureVPN 2018 Road Map Was Driven By Users’ Feedback

Statistics say that you can recover 70% of the customers you lose by solving their problems. Well, you can do that only when you listen to their feedback.

Customer feedback is, indeed, important for the success of every business. After all, it helps you gain more insights into your product from the users’ or customers’ perspective. One service has done just that and, ultimately, ended up with an improved product as well as completely satisfied users.

PureVPN is a premium VPN service provider and ranks among the top providers in the industry. Back in 2017, the CEO of the SaaS Company conducted a survey where users were asked to give their genuine feedback on the product.

After weeks of going through each response and then more weeks on developing action plans, PureVPN was able to troubleshoot almost all the problems and delivered a product that meets and exceeds user expectations. In fact, the VPN provider was able to garnered boatloads of achievements and, ultimately, appreciated their users for their constructive feedbacks.

Here are some major accomplishments by the VPN service provider in 2018:

  1.       The VPN provider also upgraded its infrastructure by adding some new services and tweaking and improving the existing features. For instance, the VPN service introduced NAT’d and Non-NAT’d servers to its network. Now, users would be able to attain better anonymity by hiding behind a single IP. Moreover, the VPN received over 4k responses regarding increased coverage. To meet the growing demand of the users, more servers and IP addresses were also added: 2,000+ servers and 300,000+ IP addresses.
  2.       In 2018, the VPN service partnered with a crowdsourced cybersecurity solutions provider, BugCrowd. The VPN provider ran a “Bug Bounty” program with BugCrowd inviting their huge community of 90,000+ ethical hackers to dissemble the VPN application to find and report major bugs or vulnerabilities. The community reported vulnerabilities that were not so harmful in nature.
  3.       The VPN provider went a step beyond and invited a widely-known auditing platform, AV-Test Gmbh, to assess the speed claims made by the VPN provider. Surprisingly, the auditing firm not only attested all the high speed and optimal performance claims of PureVPN but also listed some incredible findings that VPN users’ crave such as seamless 4K streaming, and more.
  4.       Port Forwarding was introduced as a new add-on, while the Internet Kill Switch (IKS) feature was given a makeover. Good news for Android and Mac users is that IKEv2 protocol compatibility is added to Android OS and OpenVPN support is added to the Mac OS.
  5.       Due to the growing demand of the streaming servers and channels, PureVPN not only added support for more geo-restricted services but also extended their Popular Channels feature to the desktop application.
  6.       The VPN provider also modified its privacy policy, making data protection and refund an instant task. The VPN became the first in the industry to offer a service which is 100% GDPR compliant. Moreover, a good number of users voiced their concerns regarding 7-day refund policy. Therefore, the service extended its refund days from 7 to 31 days.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. To learn more about the complete achievements of the service, you can check out their official page here.

As confirmed by Google CEO Sundar Pichai on Twitter, Google I/O 2019 would take place between May 7th and May 9th, 2019. While there is nothing said about when Google will start allowing developers to register to the event, in order to participate, there are already many voices talking about what will Google debate at its I/O event.

Google I/O 2018 was an exciting event with the presentation of the Google’s Duplex AI for the Google Assistant and the introduction of Android 9 Pie, but also with the announcement the Internet giant made about its Gmail, Play Store, and other Google Apps.

Here’s what to expect from the Google I/O 2019 event

During Google I/O 2019, we expect the company to announce Android Q, discuss future changes in its Google apps suite, and launch Google Pixel 3 Lite variant for emerging markets.

Android Q (Android 10) Would Include a Face ID-like Feature

Currently, the Android smartphone manufacturers that wanted to include face recognition functionalities had to build their own solutions from scratch or rely on basic face detection which others can trick with a simple photo. Android Q or Android 10 might change that, however, according to the folks from the XDA-Developers and 9to5Google. Accordingly, some code lines in the early build of Android Q revealed that the upcoming Google’s OS for mobiles boasts an Apple’s Face ID-like feature.

According to XDA-Developers and 9to5Google, Google is planning to implement a Face ID-like feature in its upcoming Android Q. However, the function would not only serve users to unlock their smartphones with ease, but it would also allow us to authorize purchases and sign into applications.

“<string name=”biometric_dialog_confirm”>Confirm</string>

<string name=”biometric_dialog_try_again”>Try again</string>

<string name=”accessibility_biometric_dialog_help_area”>Help message area</string>

<string name=”face_dialog_looking_for_face”>Looking for you…</string>

<string name=”kg_face_not_recognized”>Not recognized</string>

<string name=”kg_fingerprint_not_recognized”>Not recognized</string>,” read the code lines found by XDA-Developers in the early build of Android Q that they’ve already tested.

Android Q (Android 10) Would Include an Apple’s Face ID-like Feature

Android Q or Android 10 would come out in late summer, in case Google sticks to the last years’ patterns, so there’s no certainty that the Android Q final version would boast a fully operational Face ID-like feature. However, it would be an excellent move from Google, and it would help smartphone manufacturers a lot in implementing face recognition systems for their devices.

Also, a face detection tech already implemented by Google in Android Q by default would also benefit mid-range smartphone manufacturers who don’t have enough resources to build their own biometric software and add it over Google’s OS for mobiles. Nonetheless, in the end, it would be beneficial for users to increase the security of their future Android Q-based devices.

Besides this Face ID-like feature in Android Q, XDA-Developers also found recently that the upcoming Android version would come with enhanced privacy options, a system-wide dark mode, improved notification system, 5G support, new accessibility features, and many more. Also, it would be officially dubbed as Android 10, if we are to take the clock in the System UI Demo Mode, which shows 10:10, as a hint.
