Sony Xperia XZ4 Leaks: Best Specs and Features Improvements

Sony is actively working on its next flagship and it is likely that an official announcement will be made at the Mobile World Congress conference that will take place in February.

The possible specs of the device are a hot topic for the fans.  A reliable source has released new information that has a high chance of being real.

The best in its class

It seems that Sony plans to go all in with the new smartphone. A high-quality 6.5 inch QHD+ OLED panel will offer a mind-blowing 3360 x1440 resolution that will make Netflix binges awesome.

In a flash

The smartphone will include Qualcomm’s latest offering. The Snapdragon 855 SoC will be paired with 6GB of RAM, a reasonable amount that should allow users to play the latest mobile games and switch between apps without any problems. The device will offer 128GB of internal storage space but those that need more will be to use a MicroSD card with a maximum capacity of 512GB. At 4400 mAh the battery is quite generous and it should be able to keep the device alive during the day. Features like an in-display fingerprint sensor and 5G compatibility are also expected.

Looks

It is likely that four color choices will be available with black, silver blue and purple as the primary candidates. The beautiful display will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and an IP65/68 certification means that dust and water won’t be a threat.

Elusive camera

Camera specs remain shrouded in mystery at this point.  Some analysts believe that a triple-lens setup seems to be the most intuitive choice, featuring a primary sensor that reaches 40 MP while the secondary and wide-angle sensors could range between 5MP and 16MP. The selfie camera will be quite beefy as many believe that a 24MP sensor will be used in order to deliver superb images.

The truth will be revealed on the 25th of February when the Sony press conference will take place.

OPPO Is Working On An In-Screen Camera Embedded In Its Own App Icon

From now and then, OPPO is coming with something new in the universe of smartphones. Last year, the Chinese manufacturer was the first to launch a device without bezels on the front side thanks to a pop-up camera. Now, according to LetsGoDigital, OPPO is working on an in-screen camera embedded in its own app icon.

“A newly published patent shows OPPO may be planning to integrate various app icons next to the camera hole. On January 18, 2019, two patents of OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communications were published in the Global Design Database of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office),” wrote LetsGoDigital.

OPPO Is Working On An In-Screen Camera Embedded In Its Own App Icon

According to the patent, a future OPPO device would come out with a full screen, without bezels, and an in-screen camera embedded in its own app icon which would be locked on the top of the screen. According to the images released by LetsGoDigital, we can also see that OPPO plans to allow users to add some unique icons or even widgets, possibly, on the top part of the display where the notch would be.

“By making a swipe movement at the top of the display, the icons will appear. Users can scroll through the icons, allowing for more app icons to appear. The camera icon will always stay in the same place. According to the second filling, the camera icon overlays the punch-hole. By clicking on the icon, users can open the camera app. By swiping it to the right, the camera app will be turned off,” LetsGoDigital said.

In the meantime, OPPO would launch OPPO F19 and F19 Pro in February. Both these upcoming devices would come with punch-hole camera design. Also, they would be the first mobile phones to boast a camera capable of a 10x optical zoom.

Intel Plans To Join The Emerging Folding Smartphone Market With A Surprising Concept

We expect Intel to keep on producing computer and smartphone components without releasing its hardware, as it’s been doing for many years. However, Intel plans to launch on the emerging folding smartphone market with a surprising concept of a foldable phone.

The folding smartphone market is emerging with Samsung releasing its Galaxy F foldable phone in February and Huawei planning to roll out its 5G folding smartphone later this year. Other manufacturers also struggle to take a share of this emerging market which, according to some specialists, might become very popular in the future.

Now, an Intel folding smartphone patent has been discovered by the folks at LetsGoDigital. It seems that Intel works on a foldable phone that would be different from what the Galaxy F and other upcoming folding smartphones would show. LetsGoDigital came up with renders of how the Intel folding smartphone would look like (you can see the image at the beginning of this article or the one below, for example).

Intel Plans To Join The Emerging Folding Smartphone Market With A Surprising Concept

Source: LetsGoDigital

What makes this Intel folding smartphone be a unique and surprising concept is that it boasts three screen areas instead of only two as the upcoming foldable phones of Samsung and Huawei, among others, would show. Nonetheless, the device can fold in virtually any way users would wish.

However, we don’t know if Intel is going to launch such a device, at least anytime soon. Also, the Intel folding smartphone concept might not be a hint that the chipset manufacturer is working on such a device, but might be an indication for Intel’s partners that the company can produce the necessary components for such a folding smartphone.

At the moment, Intel has not commented on these leaks, but, hopefully, they will come out to explain more about the Intel folding smartphone concept we can see above.

Netflix 6.24.0 Build 2 31642 Rolled Out on Android With Some Improvements

Netflix is, at the moment, the most popular streaming service. With Netflix, we can watch full-length movies, TV series, documentaries, and more. Netflix app on Android, for example, totals more than 500 million downloads, proving the popularity of the streaming service on mobiles. Now, Netflix 6.24.0 Build 2 31642 rolled out on Android with several improvements.

Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph founded Netflix in 1997, and in 1998 it became the world’s first online DVD rental store. In 2000, when Netflix totaled 300,000 subscribers, Netflix’s founders declined a $50 million offer from Blockbuster, its rival at that time. In 2001, however, Netflix experienced massive growth, but the “dot-com bubble” burst and the September 11 WTC terrorist attacks affected the company in late-2001.

Fast forwarding, in 2007, Netflix moved from its core business, which was selling and renting DVDs, to offering videos on demand over the Internet, a business model quite similar to what the service is providing nowadays. By January 2013, Netflix totaled 29 million subscribers worldwide, but 27 million of them were US-based. Netflix started to expand globally and support other platforms, as well, thanks to the increased popularity of mobile devices.

Netflix 6.24.0 Build 2 31642 Rolled Out on Android With Some Improvements

Back on the Netflix app, Netflix streaming service is now the most popular streaming service on Android and iOS, totaling over 500 million users, worldwide on mobile platforms. Today, Netflix 6.24.0 Build 2 31642 rolled out on Android. The new version of the Netflix app on Android is not bringing any visual changes, but some enhancements under the hood.

“Someone eyeing your Netflix app on the bus? Make sure it’s the latest and greatest. Get the update for our best experience yet. No matter your mood – we’ve got options. In this version, we made player improvements to make watching them [videos] even better,” Netflix said in the Netflix 6.24.0 Build 2 31642 release notes.

“We’re working on the app experience. You work on what, when, and how you watch next. That’s equally as important,” Netflix added.

iPhone X Jailbroken – Someone Finds a Second Stage of an Exploit Chain

Qixun Zhao (@S0rryMybad), a security researcher with the Qihoo 360 Vulcan Team, discovered a way to jailbreak the latest iOS system on iPhone X using a second stage of an exploit chain.

On 23rd of January, Zhao let his followers know of a kernel vulnerability that can be reached in the sandbox releasing proof of concept (PoC). He also dubbed it as Chaos. Regarding the tfp0 exploit, he provides intricate details for beginners, but the exploit code is not revealed.

Instead of doing so, he stated that you would need to wait for the jailbreak community’s release or complete the exploit code yourself if you want to jailbreak. In addition to that, he would not mention the exploit details of the posted exploit because that is the jailbreak community’s responsibility as they are handling it.

The jailbreak is demonstrated by Zhao in a video posted to Twitter.

Zhao, following his intuition, said he believed that a path that would cause a leak could be found and this is what he used before iOS 12 was even a plan.

Zhao also wrote that after seeing the code he realized that the quality is not high enough and it lacks review. You can reach the code directly in the sandbox which means that the kernel developer might not be familiar with what they should do to generate MIG codes. Finding the bug is not more important than this information.

The fact that PAC mitigation was the end of UAF or jailbreak is a misguided belief so Zhao added that you can still use the UAF hole in the PAC environment. You need to convert the type obfuscation if you want to be closer to using the UAF vulnerability as it also depends on the released object’s data structures.
