Google Pixel 4 Might Boast An All-Screen Design, According To Patents

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL rolled out globally about two months ago, in November 2018. Even though the Pixel 3 devices are quite new, rumors about the future Google Pixel 4 are already out. According to the most recent leaks, based on a couple of patents the giant tech company filed recently, Google Pixel 4 might boast an all-screen design. That means the smartphone would come out with no bezels, the display covering the entire front side of the device.

The tech portal 91mobiles discovered the new patents and, according to the site, Google filed them already to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). As the patents reveal (see below), Google is working on an all-screen smartphone. It would be the future Google Pixel 4 since the smartphone presented in the patents looks similar to the Pixel 3 XL model.

Nonetheless, it would be the next logical step from Google since Samsung and Huawei, among others, are already planning to launch smartphones with no bezels and notches in 2019.

Google Pixel 4 Might Come Out With An All-Screen Design

The theory that Google Pixel 4 might roll out this year with no bezels, with an all-screen design, came from the first patent, the very same one you can see in the image above. It seems that the display of the smartphone would cover its entire front side, so there are no bezels, no notch, no earpiece, no selfie camera or other sensors visible. Maybe Google would opt for a pop-up selfie camera, but that’s only a hypothesis since we know nothing more about it, at the moment.

In the second patent that Google filed (see below), we can also see an all-screen smartphone, without bezels, but with two front-facing speakers, one at the top and the other at the bottom of the device.

In the end, you should take these leaks with a grain of salt since the majority of patents do not turn into real products. Also, Google Pixel 4 would come out in October-November this year, so Google has plenty of time to change the design of its upcoming flagships smartphone.

iPhone 11: All The Latest Leaks In One Place – Battery, Display And More

The first month of 2019 is almost over, and before we know it, the next generation of iPhones will be here. It will be very interesting to see how Apple will decide to launch these products and that is the reason why everyone is speculating about the upcoming iPhones.

This time, it appears that new information is available. A Chinese website named Weibo did post some interesting details about the iPhone 11. Nonetheless, you should take them with a grain of salt. It is very early to make predictions or receive leaks, so there is a chance that this report isn’t as accurate as it claims to be.

Specs

According to the report, the battery of the iPhone 11 will be much larger. There will be a 4000 mAh battery on the Max model. There will also be improvements for wireless charging, and it should be a lot faster for the upcoming models.

As you might already know, the initial charging speed was 5W. This happened back when iPhone X and iPhone 8 were released and Apple launched the wireless charging feature for the first time. Then, the speed was upgraded to 7.5 W thanks to a Qi accessory and an iOS update.

The reports indicate that the next charging speed will be even higher. According to the leaks, this should be the fastest wireless chagrining on the market. It is expected to receive 15 W charging, as well as some upgrades for that in the future as well.

The display refresh rate should also receive some improvements and it is believed that we will get a rate that will be somewhere between 90 and 120 Hz. We also heard new rumours that confirm a triple camera setup on the back of the phone.

Fortnite and YouTube Scares Netflix More Than The Upcoming Disney+

Netflix came out to reply to the many people thinking that the most popular streaming platform in the world would lose subscribers when Disney+ comes out. Netflix thinks Fortnite and YouTube are greater competitors than the upcoming Disney+, HBO, or Amazon, according to a recent shareholder letter the company released.

So, according to Netflix, the streaming platform’s representatives are more concerned with Fortnite and YouTube than with the forthcoming Disney+ streaming platform, HBO, or Amazon. According to the company, Netflix has already earned 10 percent of all US television screen time, while “Bird Box” totaled 80 million viewers in its first month. The streaming platform expects that “You” would sum up to 40 million viewers over the same period.

Thus, Netflix wants to ensure people that the emergence of new streaming platforms such as Disney+ will not make subscribers ditch Netflix. On the other hand, Netflix is more concerned with the growth of Fortnite and YouTube.

Fortnite and YouTube Scares Netflix More Than The Upcoming Disney+, HBO, or Amazon

“Our focus is not on Disney+, Amazon or others, but on how we can improve our experience for others. We compete with (and lose to) Fortnite more than HBO. When YouTube went down globally for a few minutes in October, our viewing and signups spiked for that time,” said Netflix in its shareholder letter.

“We compete so broadly with all of these providers, that any one provider entering only makes a difference on the margin,” said Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix.

While the YouTube presence on the list of Netflix’s competitors is not surprising, the thing that Netflix mentioned Fortnite might be confusing. In reality, it shouldn’t be so, as Netflix aims to compete with all kind of entertainment out there and go live on as many devices as they exist out there, including gaming consoles.

LG Smartphone With A Second Display Attachment Might Launch At MWC 2019

Reportedly, LG would launch a smartphone with a second display attachment at MWC 2019 in Barcelona, in February. The information came from an internal source, according to CNET. According to the rumors, LG would launch a device with a sort of a case that would be nothing else than a second screen which would double the real size of the unannounced LG smartphone’s display.

However, the rumored LG smartphone would not be a folding smartphone, but it would be a regular phone with a second display attachment, meaning that it will use two completely separate screens.

This LG smartphone with a second display attachment would be just one of the many devices the South Korean tech company will unveil at the MWC 2019 in Barcelona. However, the source cited by CNET did not reveal the name of the rumored double-screened smartphone that LG will reportedly roll out at MWC 2019.

LG Smartphone With A Second Display Attachment Might Launch At MWC 2019

“While the company is mulling the G8 name, it’s unclear whether the multiple-screen phone will carry the name of its flagship line. There’s a chance that one of the more conventional-looking devices will carry the G8 ThinQ name instead, but that hasn’t been decided on,” reported CNET.

Also, as CNET reported, some confusion spread online after a report appeared on the Korean-language outlet Naver. According to the portal, LG would plan to launch a folding smartphone to get a share of this emerging market, currently led by Samsung, which would roll out its Galaxy F on February 20th, Lenovo, with its Motorola Razr “remake,” and other manufacturers.

However, according to the latest rumors, LG would not launch a folding smartphone but might unveil at MWC 2019 the LG smartphone with a second display attachment we’ve talked about above. Undoubtedly, we will have an exciting MWC this year.
