WhatchOS 5.1.2 Version Comes With The ECG Application And Several Improvements

One of the most sought-after versions of watchOS has been released. After yesterday’s updates of the macOS and iOS versions, today watchOS 5.1.2 allows Apple Watch Series 4 customers to use the ECG application and perform electrocardiograms just by placing their fingers on the Apple Watch.

In the update released today, in addition to the typical improvements in performance and stability of the system in general, we find new features, too, in particular, the ECG application.

“The electrodes integrated into the digital crown and rear glass work together with the ECG application to read the electrical signals from your heart. Simply touch the digital crown to generate an ECG waveform in just 30 seconds. The ECG application can indicate whether your heart rate shows signs of atrial fibrillation (a severe form of irregular heart rhythm) or sinus rhythm, meaning that your heart is beating in a normal pattern,” Apple stated.

WhatchOS 5.1.2 Version Comes With The ECG Application And Several Improvements

“Each heartbeat sends an electrical impulse. With the ECG application, Apple Watch Series 4 can read and record these impulses by connecting the circuit between your heart and both arms. The resulting ECG waveform, its classification, and any notes you entered about related symptoms are automatically stored in the health application on your iPhone. You can share them with your doctor and have a conversation about your health,” explained Apple in the release note of the new whatchOS 5.1.2.

Other changes we receive with this update include the new switch in the Control Center of the Walkie-Talkie application. Regarding complications, the latest version reveals Search My Friends, Home, Mail, Maps, Messages, News, Phone, and Remote Control.

The new update also delivers several improvements to tickets and reward cards in the Wallet application. In short, a whatchOS 5.1.2 is an excellent and complete update for the Apple Watch Series 4.

Huawei To Launch A Smartphone With A 3D Camera

Because Huawei plans to present a new cell phone with a camera capable of taking three-dimensional photos thanks to a 3D camera, unofficial sources said. The smartphone, whose codename is Princeton, will be announced this month so that it would go on sale in just a few weeks. The technology uses sensors developed by Sony Corp. capable of accurately measuring distances by throwing light at surfaces, another source added.

The new feature, dubbed “3D Camera” by Huawei, comes during a critical period for the smartphone industry, which is grappling with cooling of global demand as consumers find fewer reasons to buy new phones. Huawei aims to increase sales and take market share away from competitors like Apple and Samsung by offering users the ability to generate 3D models of themselves and the environment in real time and share them with others.

“This is a technology we have never seen before and, at best, could transform the way we see the world,” said Yusuke Toyoda, sensor analyst at Fuji Chimera Research Inc. in Tokyo.

Huawei To Launch A Smartphone With A 3D Camera

In addition to generating 3D images, Huawei’s new smartphone can create 3D models of people and objects, which can be used by augmented reality applications, according to one of the sources. The new camera will also allow developers to control apps and games in new ways, such as hand gestures, the source added. Probably, Huawei will put the new 3D camera in more than one smartphone model.

For Sony, the world’s leader in imaging sensors used in ordinary smartphone cameras, 3D cameras could generate billions of dollars in additional revenue from the sale of their new components. The company accelerated the development of the technology after purchasing Softkinetic, a Belgian startup based in Brussels, in 2015, combining the company’s high-end technology with its own skills to create 3D camera chips, small enough to fit inside a smartphone.

FaceID, Apple’s face recognition function, also uses 3D sensors but relies on a different technology called Structured Light, which can measure depth at shorter distances. Sony’s sensors can do this over longer distances.

Pokémon Go: Trainer Battle – Can You Really Battle Your Friends?

Pokemon Go has recently introduced the PvP trainer battles, the thing that allows the players to compete against other players online and locally. They fight one-on-one, or in competitive trainer leagues, so the Pokemon masters can be named. This is a very pleasant change for the game – truth be told, it needed the multiplayer feature ever since it got launched.

What are trainer battles?

These trainer battles are one-on-one fights that put a player against another local trainer, or simply let two users compete online.

Can you battle your friends?

The answer is yes. If you’re Best Friends or Ultra Friends, (which are the two highest tiers of friendship), then you can send each other invites to battle with the help of the Friends list. Keep in mind that you cannot battle against your Good or Great Friends.

Can you battle users locally?

If you want to battle another player in person, then you both have to be in the same trainer league. You need to swap battle codes (which are different than the trainer codes that are sued to add people to the friend’s list). Battle codes are unique QR codes that a user should scan for sending a battle invitation to another user. These battle codes are assigned to all the players and can be found in the battle menu.

How do the PVP battles work?

Two players are needed for trainer battles, each allowed with a set of three Pokemon – which is a very big change for the game, since every player was allowed to have 6 Pokemon each of their side. Players can now customize their battle party in time, and then select it once the battle begins. Players will select which Pokemon to use and then to send out to fight against the other player in real time. However, you need to keep in mind that a cooldown timer will stop you from swapping between your Pokemon.

YouTube To Add Automatic Playback On Homepage On Both Android and iOS Versions

Google updated its YouTube app, once again, and added a new feature that allows users of the mobile version of YouTube automatically playback videos directly from the app’s homepage. The function is available for both Android and iOS. Of course, anyone can deactivate it even though it’s by default activated. If users prefer, the new function can be set to only work when on a WiFi network.

YouTube To Add Automatic Playback On Homepage On Both Android and iOS Versions

In the world of video streaming services, Google’s YouTube is the most popular and appreciated one, especially on Android and iOS mobile operating systems, primarily because it is a free app boasting a huge video content.

“Coming to Android & iOS over the next few weeks… Autoplay on Home! Preview a video while you scroll or watch the whole thing on mute with captions. To turn on/off or customize to play only on WiFi, go to Settings -> Autoplay -> Autoplay on Home,” YouTube team wrote on its official Twitter page.

The Upcoming YouTube App Feature To Benefit Content Creators, As Well As Users

As expected by Google, the new function in YouTube Android and iOS versions, when activated, should beneficial for mobile users. On the other hand, the best thing of this feature would be to benefit content creators who could raise additional income and more subscribers and viewers from the automatic playback function which would run silently but with captions whenever a user hovers over a video on YouTube homepage.

A video made by YouTube director David Sharon explains how that new function will work. According to him, the automatic playback on YouTube homepage would not consume mobile data and would allow users to configure it in different ways, depending on their desires.

This feature has already been available in the YouTube Premium version, but now it would roll out on the standard YouTube versions for both Android and iOS.
