iOS 12 vs. iOS 11.4 – Performances are Lacking On The New Model

iOS 12 is the first version of iOS that offers support for mobile phones over 5 years old, with the iPhone 5S being the phone that has been receiving support for so long along with some iPad models. In the video below we have a comparison of 7 iPhone models of running iOS 12 and iOS 11.4, and the second operating system starts faster.

iOS 12 is not faster than iOS 11.4 even when it comes to unlocking Face ID, and the situation is no different in the case of Touch ID, so until now Apple’s promises are quite a lie. In terms of opening the camera, the iOS 12 opens it slightly faster than iOS 11.4, much the same for other applications, but the differences are minor. iOS 12 was presented by Apple with high percentage gains in performance when it comes to opening applications, but in reality, promises are not seen.

iOS 12 is slightly faster than iOS 11.4 in some situations when the first access is made, but at second access things are no longer the same, so overall it’s unlikely to feel the world’s performance boost. Despite this, the fact that Apple has promised a big increase in performance for iOS 12 will “convince” some that this has happened, although so far it does not.

Google Chrome vs. Firefox Quantum – Which One Is Faster and Worth Downloading?

Firefox’s newest web browser, named Firefox Quantum, was launched in November last year. We’re going to take a look at it and compare it with Google Chrome, in order to see which is the best.

Chrome has definitely gained a lot of popularity since 2008, the year of its debut. Nowadays, due to its speed, most of the people on the internet prefer Google Chrome over Firefox, which is not the „default” browser anymore. However, Quantum is now trying to attract users by offering even greater speed. Firefox is convinced that its newest browser can load popular web pages two times faster than Chrome.

To determine which browser is better, we took a look at some tests to compare how Quantum and Chrome would run on a PC with 8GB of RAM and an Intel Core i5 2500k processor. Both browsers were tested using their original settings, which means that there we no additions, such as AdBlocker or other extensions. Also, all the browsing data was removed before the tests.

Speedometer

This test analyzes the amount of time it takes for a user to perform certain actions on a web application. The results showed that Google Chrome was faster than Firefox.

JetStream

In order to find out how well a browser can deal with advanced web applications and multiple tasks, JetStream 1.1 was used. This time, Firefox was the winner, but by a very small margin.

Ares-6 test

This test was used to measure the speed with which the browsers can process Javascript functions. This round was easily won by Chrome.

Real-world Speed Test

The last and definitely the most relevant test for users was supposed to measure the actual speed of loading some popular pages. The winner of this battle was Google Chrome.

Final results

The conclusive results show that Chrome is still way ahead of Firefox. However, Quantum is not that slow and clearly has its advantages and a great potential to attack Chrome’s position in the future.

Pokémon Z Release Date – Everything We Know So Far

Back in 2016 there were numerous rumors that Pokémon Z was going to be the next game of the Pokémon series released by Nintendo. With the debut of the Pokémon X Y & Z animated series, it seemed like a sure thing that Pokémon Z will be released soon after. However, February 27th 2016, which was the Pokémon Day, didn’t bring any announcements related to Z, but instead, Nintendo revealed plans for Sun and Moon, a game that would initiate a new generation of Pokémon games. That left a large group of fans in a state of shock, and whose questions as to why Pokémon Z was omitted remain unanswered up to this day.

Since Generation VII received many highly favorable reviews, this somehow silenced most of the fans. Still, Nintendo has not made any comments regarding the surprising omission of the last part of the X & Y trilogy. As many different explanations have been proposed by fans, we decided to choose only three of them, those that, in our opinion, make the most sense.

  1. According to some, Nintendo wanted to use Pokémon Z as a bait for the fans, who would be more likely to purchase a new handheld launched by the Japanese company, in case the highly anticipated game would be released simultaneously for the same device. Such move would greatly increase a good start and the potential success of the new device.
  2. Nintendo’s decision to skip Pokémon Z was made in order to maximize the earnings of the company, as new game series or generations tend to generate more hype, which is then followed by increased sales.
  3. Since the game might have featured a France-inspired setting, after the Paris attacks of November 2015 a decision could have been made to abandon the plans for Pokémon Z in order to avoid any unnecessary controversy.

Any of the three above mentioned explanations could be the real reason as to why Pokémon Z was never published. There is a great chance that we will never know the answer.

HitBTC Cryptocurrency Exchange Platform Shuts Down Its Operations in Japan

HitBTC cryptocurrency exchange platform has suspended its services for investors residing in Japan. This decision was taken in order to avoid any problems with the country’s cryptocurrency regulation. Indeed, the latter did not authorize HitBTC to operate in Japan and users with Japanese IP addresses will be asked to provide information about their residence as part of the customer identification procedure (KYC). This will also identify investors who do not live in Japan.

HitBTC services shut down its operations in Japan

HitBTC, the 8th largest cryptocurrency exchange platform in the world, according to CoinMarketCap, has announced the suspension of its services for Japanese residents.

On its website, the Hong Kong-based company has added a new section entitled “Restriction of Services”, under the “Terms of Use” section.

For example, there can be read that “you must not use our services and immediately stop using them if you are a resident of a country where HitBTC is not authorized to operate.”

The company said that if the platform detects the use of its services from an IP address registered in Japan it will be asked to confirm if the user does not reside in Japan. Another publication was made by the company confirming the suspension of its services in Japan.

The decision came in respect with the cryptocurrency regulations adopted by Japan

The Japanese payment services law regarding the cryptocurrency regulations, which caused HitBTC cryptocurrency exchange platform to end its services on the Asian country’s territory, came into force in April.

This regulation legalizes cryptocurrencies but it also requires that all cryptocurrency exchange or trading companies operating in Japan to be registered with the country’s financial authority, the FSA.

To date, 16 platforms for the cryptocurrency exchange activities have received an operating license. They were thus authorized to operate in Japan.

The Japanese financial regulator has also warned some companies that continue to operate in Japan without such authorization, and HitBTC was one of them.
