Deep Space 4 Might Never Happen, But The Series Producer Would Like A Sequel in The Franchise

Dead Space franchise was one of the most underrated series in the video game industry. However, the title has a robust database of fans who are eager to see Dead Space 4, one of the most sought-after games a few years ago. It also seems that the original series producer, Glen Schofield, also the Sledgehammer Games’ founder, would love to return to the Dead Space series to make Dead Space 4.

In Schofield’s vision, Dead Space 4 would have to be different than Dead Space 2 and 3. And we could not agree with him more. The first title of the franchise, Dead Space the original game, has quickly turned into the hallmark of the horror survival game, a genre that was slowly but steadily dying at the moment the first Dead Space came out.

On the other hand, Dead Space 2 was one hell of a game, many fans of the already revived horror survival genre falling in love with it. Dead Space 3, finally, was quite disappointing, the franchise’s fans complaining of many issues.

Dead Space 4 might never happen, but we still hope to have it in the future

Glen Schofield said that Dead Space 4, in case it will ever happen, should sport an attractive multiplayer component. That would make the franchise’s fans to keep playing the game for a more extended period in comparison with the previous titles which were only attractive for the single-player campaigns.

But, unfortunately for the Dead Space series’ fans, since Visceral Games and EA are focusing on other genres, Dead Space 4 might ever happen. In addition to that, let’s not forget that Electronic Arts was not happy with the Dead Space 3 sales, back in 2013. “While we have not announced sales for Dead Space 3, we are proud of the game, and the franchise remains an important IP to EA,” said an EA representative back then.

Undoubtedly, a Dead Space 4 release would be marvelous for the fans of the franchise. And, now, since the series producer showed interest in coming back to work on a new Dead Space title, who knows, maybe EA would change its mind, and we’ll eventually get a Dead Space 4.

Dead Space 4 Game Would Have Had a Female Protagonist and an Open World Design

The 4th version of EA’s Dead Space series is a game that didn’t make it. Although the series is gone, it is definitely not forgotten. After its third installment in 2013, the franchise was completely shuttered. However, the creative director of Dead Space, Ben Wanat, chose Eurogamer as the perfect place to open up about how the 4th game would have looked like.

Among the subjects, Wanat brushed upon the linear style of play, the changes to zero gravity combat and, of course, the main character. Explaining what sounded like an open world with different areas of exploration, Wanat said that “the notion was you were trying to survive day to day against infested ships, searching for a glimmer of life, scavenging supplies to keep your own little ship going, trying to find survivors”.

Dead Space 3 had a flotilla section which acted as a hint as to how non-linear gameplay could have been like and, apparently, Wanat would have liked to dive deeper into it. Supposedly, you would have started in a section of space, perhaps while following a trail of ship carcasses to an orbital station which you would have thought that it could bring your ship back to being Shock-capable.

The last game would have placed humanity on its dying breath before the Necromorphe apocalypse. A dominant setting of the game would have been represented by a collection of ships which could have been explored.

Then, after the first three games had Isaac Clarke stomping around as the lead character, the fourth installment would have provided a shift into the franchise which would have been an excellent reason to pick up the game. We are talking about the introduction of Ellie Langford into the starring role.

Dead Space 4 in the Works? Visceral Games is Not Busy with Star Wars: Battlefront Anymore

Just like Half-Life 3, there is a high demand for Dead Space 4 and a lack of interest from the developers. Although, the real reason why Dead Space 4 is not already available on the market is that the folks who are in charge of the franchise are having some problems. Visceral Games is the company that developed the Dead Space franchise and it kept promising that a new title is going to arrive sooner than expected. Unfortunately, Visceral Games is owned by EA and EA tasked the game developer to create the latest Star Wars: Battlefront instead of Dead Space 4.

When Will Dead Space 4 Arrive?

Now that Star Wars: Battlefront has been released, Visceral Games might be open to start a new project. Frank Gibeau who is an executive at EA has said that the company is interested in making a new Dead Space game, but that it needs to have an audience of at least five million people for EA to start investing.

Rumor has it that EA will not require an audience so large anymore since the company has been having lots of issues with fans and it needs to make a game to earn the fans trust once again. Gaming communities all throughout the web have vowed to not pre-order any EA games. Therefore, EA could create Dead Space 4 in order to get fans behind its brand.

Glen Schofield Leaves Visceral Games

Glen Schofield used to be one of the lead developers at Visceral Games, but he left to start his own company. Knowing that Dead Space 3 is the biggest game the developer has worked on and that there is a high demand for Dead Space 4, Glen Schofield might be the one to bring Dead Space 4 to life. On the downside, there is no official confirmation from the developer and we need to wait more until Dead Space 4 gets confirmed.

Dead Space 4 – EA Plans to Capitalize On the Game Franchise’s Popularity

Dead Space is one of the most beloved game franchise and fans keep asking for a new installment. There are three Dead Space games available right now and they all are known for their incredible RPG setting and fun gameplay mechanics which leave fans wanting for more. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we are going to see Dead Space 4 too soon and today we are going to present the top reasons why.

Electronic Arts Involvement

For those who don’t know, EA purchases companies that develop outstanding games and then give them new tasks. This has caused the gaming community to hate EA, and it’s exactly what happened with Visceral Games. Visceral Games is the company that created the Dead Space 4 universe and EA stopped its activity in 2017 when it tasked the developers to create a new Star Wars game.

Zero Official Information

The interesting thing about Dead Space 4 is that neither Visceral Game’s former employees neither EA want to confirm or deny if the highly anticipated game will ever be released. On one hand, this gives fans hope that Dead Space 4 will be revealed in the upcoming future, on the other it doesn’t unveil any details about the game.

Dead Space Art Director Speaks Out

Even though everything is pointing that Dead Space 4 will not arrive anytime soon, Ian Milham who is the Art Director for the game has mentioned in a Reddit post that the “Dead Space” intellectual property is worth a lot of money to EA.

Therefore, the Art Director believes that EA is planning to capitalize on Dead Space’s popularity and surprise fans by announcing Dead Space 4. However, the Art Director has no way of knowing when that will happen.

Dead Space 4 Game Comes with Several Exciting News

Few games have as many fans as Dead Space. It couldn’t be otherwise since gamers can enjoy many video games, comic books and two animated movies under the same umbrella of an interactive and constantly growing franchise. So far, we don’t have any news on possible title changes, so let’s start imagining things and thinking about what Dead Space 4 could bring.

The present scenario

After Visceral Games, the studio producing the Dead Space franchise shut down in 2017, nobody knew if the developers have some news in mind for the future. The series is thought to have great potential and even if Dead Space 3 didn’t have much success, EA decided to keep the franchise in a shadow and revive it after some time with some of gamers’ favorite elements.

Now we know that Sci-Fi or Horror games are becoming more and more popular, so the void left by the Dead Space has been filled by many new games. However, the potential release of Dead Space 4 appeared on the Reddit community for the first time. According to these sources, the new game’s storyline is set before the facts occurring in Dead Space 3. It focusses on the Black Marker and its discovery, as it has been mentioned in Dead Space 2.

The release date isn’t expected any time soon

Unfortunately, this exciting new piece from the Dead Space franchise isn’t expected to happen very soon. Since modern graphics and an intense storyline can only be supported by more powerful consoles that can create immersive experiences for all gamers, maybe the developer is waiting for the release of these tech wonders to launch its newest game.

Considering this, we can imagine that the earliest time when we can start using revolutionary consoles is 2020. In this idea, Dead Space 4 might appear in the 2020-2021 timeline.
