Google Pixel 3 And 3 XL Latest Leaks on Its Renderings

Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL are two of the most highly anticipated smartphones of this autumn. They will be released at the Google NYC event which will take place on October 9. Despite the fact that there are only a couple of weeks left, new leaks continue to appear.

Recently Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL renders were posted online by Evan Blass, and we also received pictures of the actual Pixel 3 XL smartphone. Let’s analyse these leaks.

Twitter pictures

Pixel 3 XL images were posted on Twitter and we were able to see the Clearly White version. The pictures also show us that the notch is still there, while the SIM tray is placed at the bottom of the device. Previous leaks showed a peach coloured power button, but in these pictures we can see that the button has a mint color.

The person who posted these pictures also revealed some screenshots. We were able to see that the camera UI received some improvements, and the cameras come in at 8 MP and 12.2 MP. The interface for the Assistant popup also went through some changes.

Renderings

Evan Blass is well known for its leaks and recently he posted an image of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL renderings. They are side by side, so it is easy to compare them. “Since you guys keep asking…” Evan Blass commented before posting the picture. We have already seen these two side by side, although they had cases on.

Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 Xl will be announced on October 9th. So far we don’t have any details regarding the price, so we will have to wait a little longer for that. Availability information

Android 9 Pie Rolled Out On Nexus 5X and Nexus 6 Via Custom ROMs

Google is supporting its devices for only two years, so some older handsets can’t get updated to newer Android releases. Fortunately, the developers were quick to come up with solutions, and now Android 9 Pie rolled out on Nexus 5X and Nexus 6 thanks to custom ROMs.

According to XDA-Developers, the renowned community of devs for Android devices, a few skillful developers managed to come up with Android 9 Pie for some older Nexus devices. What’s indeed interesting is that they developed custom ROMs for the latest Google OS within a few weeks after it emerged on the market officially.

“Nexus PieX” is the Android 9 Pie custom ROM for Nexus 5X

Developed by a dev that goes by the name of “argraur,” Nexus PieX is the Android 9 Pie custom ROM that brings the latest Google OS installment on the LG Nexus 5X.

In general terms, Nexus PieX works smoothly and has all the functions of the Android 9 Pie, excepting for SafetyNet and VoLTE which are the only features that are broken at the moment.

Android 9 Pie comes to Nexus 6 via CarbonBeta ROM

A developer by the name of Myself5 joined forces with the CarbonROM team and release CarbonBeta ROM that brings Android 9 Pie to Nexus 6.

While the ROM works nicely, there are two very annoying issues. On the one hand, the mobile data connection is a bit faulty but works alright for most of the time, while, on the other hand, the encryption features is entirely broken.

If you can live with these issues, then you’d definitely enjoy this custom ROM that updates Google Nexus 6 to the latest OS released by Google, Android 9 Pie.

In conclusion, while Google shut down support for its older devices and you can’t anymore update them to latest releases, now, Android 9 Pie comes to Nexus 5X and Nexus 6 via custom ROMs.

Google Inbox To Be Shut Down In March 2019

Google is expected to announce the discontinuance of its Inbox app starting with March 2019. That might seem like an expected decision by some of the app’s users, but it will soon be official. The Google Inbox, which launched in October 2014, was meant to revolutionize users mailbox by offering more modern features but served its purposes and now there is no more interest in it from Google.

Google Inbox was not meant to replace Gmail

The app’s primary objective was to facilitate the organization and the daily use of emails. As soon as it was launched, Google Inbox automatically labeled emails in different categories such as news, finance, travel, purchases, social networks, and so on. It was also possible to postpone an email until later, to deal with it at a more appropriate time.

Other notable features of Google Inbox include quick replies and easy access to email content, whether it is media or essential information such as a link to track a delivery or a restaurant’s phone number.

Google immediately stated that its Inbox app’s objective was not to replace Gmail app, even though Google raised some concerns when its Google Inbox was launched, leaving many users speculating about Google’s strategy in this regard.

Google Inbox to be discontinued in March 2019

In reality, Google Inbox has served as a test environment for the Google developers, who were able to measure the attractiveness of the new features without disrupting the regular use and users experience of its Gmail app.

Google Gmail app now boasts the best features of Inbox, so there is no more interest in Google Inbox app.

According to a recent Fast Company report, Google would soon announce the discontinuance of its Google Inbox starting with March 2019. A decision that comes as a logical next step since Google launched the new, modern Gmail interface.

Cardano (ADA) And Google Are Discussing A Possible Partnership

Charles Hoskinson, Cardano (ADA) founder, is unstoppable lately. After advising Justin Sun, the TRON (TRX) founder, to use Cardano’s mantis client instead of Ethereum’s Javascript, now, Hoskinson went to talk with Google for a possible partnership between Cardano (ADA) and Google.

As a matter of fact, Google asked Charles Hoskinson to come to a meeting where the two enterprises, Google and Cardano, discussed the potential of applying new technologies that would benefit both companies in equal measure.

Charles Hoskinson was invited to talk about Cardano and the future of cryptocurrencies at Google’s London Headquarters last month.

Cardano Community

According to Hoskinson, more details about the topics debated during the meeting will roll out soon, but, in the meantime, the founder of Cardano (ADA) offered some clues, saying that he talked about the functionality of the ADA cryptocurrency, the features of the Cardano blockchain, and the superiority of the Ouroboros algorithm behind the Cardano project.

Cardano (ADA) and Google are discussing a possible partnership

The meeting was the perfect environment for cryptocurrency and FinTech enthusiasts to listen to Charles Hoskinson debating Cardano (ADA) and its future in the cryptocurrencies market. Many questions were asked during the meeting, but one, in particular, demanded an answer on how is Cardano (ADA) planning to overcome Ethereum. Charles Hoskinson said:

How many Java, C++ or Go developers are writing code on Ethereum? You can’t, Ethereum doesn’t support any of these languages. They can’t even run a single viral app on the platform (…) With Cardano, first off, we’re backward-compatible, 100%, we’re running an EVM.

Charles Hoskinson

Cardano (ADA) is currently the 8th in the cryptocurrencies market, scoring a market cap of about $4 billion. At the moment of this writing, ADA trades at $0.15, rising by about 8% in the last 24 hours.

The meeting between Charles Hoskinson and Google’s representatives was meant to give a signal that both Cardano (ADA) and Google are discussing a possible partnership that would benefit both companies equally.
