Android Dark Mode Revealed To Some Google Pixel 3 Users In The Update Menu

The dark mode has become very popular in recent years, and it is now available on most flagship devices. From saving battery when you are using your device during the night (while also keeping your eyes safe) to a mere personalization choice, dark mode is a feature which has managed to build a strong fan base.

The mode is available on Pixel 3 devices, and some users have reported that it may have found its way to new features. Some users have captured screenshots and pictures of an unusual Android update screen, which appear to use a slightly different dark mode. The images were posted on a popular forum platform, sparking the curiosity of thousands of users who rushed to share their opinion on the subject.

Usually, Google prefers to employ a variety of greys with its dark mode. The images reveal a pure black menu, with only the text and the buttons being white. That has attracted widespread criticism as some users claim that the screen may have been faked with the help of a custom theme or by opting to activate the color inversion feature which can be found in the settings menu (and which produces a similar result, according to users which tried to replicate the results).

Some Google Pixel 3 users are puzzled by a mysterious Android dark mode update menu

The person who started the thread shared another screenshot in which the multitask menu appears, proving that he or she didn’t activate the color inversion feature.

Others have also noted that they were greeted by the same screen and they use the latest Google Plays Services version (16.0.81). It is also argued that the theme may be linked to the Device theme setting which is available on Google Pixel devices.

Another round of debates was sparked after some users who run the same Play Services version said that they didn’t encounter the Android dark mode update screen. They argue that it may occur if people are running a beta version of the Play Services. Google has recently released an update which changed how the update menu looks like, making it more similar to the Material Design theme.

Fuchsia OS That Will Replace Android, Eventually, Can Run on Google Pixel 3 Smartphones

The best part of Google’s Android smartphones is that they always get the most recent Android updates first and these patches are guaranteed for three years. While Google is still working on its Fuchsia OS which will eventually replace Android on smart devices, an indie developer proved that Google Pixel 3 smartphones could already run Fuchsia OS.

About Fuchsia OS

Fuchsia OS is Google’s future operating system for smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart speakers, IoT devices, as well as other gadgets. Fuchsia OS would eventually replace Android on these devices. However, Google did not officially reveal much on which devices would run Fuchsia, but we should expect it to replace Android and Chrome OS.

All we know about Fuchsia OS comes from recent leaks and rumors. We know, for example, how Fuchsia would look like in its first versions and that it can boot on several devices, but, for the moment, we can’t use it instead of Android or Chrome OS.

However, an indie developer installed Fuchsia OS on a Google Pixel 3 smartphone.

Fuchsia OS Can Run on Google Pixel 3 Smartphones

According to a recent blog post by 9to5Google, an indie developer managed to install and run Fuchsia OS on his Google Pixel 3 XL smartphone. The tech news portal reminds us that we’re still in the early days of booting Fuchsia OS and Android smartphones, so we shouldn’t try that ourselves.

“This includes booting the Zircon kernel (the absolute minimum software needed to run a device) via fastboot and displaying the Zircon virtual console (think like a command line) on the Pixel 3 XL screen. This console is the only UI though, as it doesn’t tap into any of the other layers of Fuchsia yet. There’s also no way to interact with the virtual console, as there’s no touch or USB support of any kind,” reported 9to5Google.

Fuchsia OS would come out in a few years, even though an exact release date is yet to be announced. The experiment the indie developer conducted proves that current Android smartphones would also be able to run Fuchsia when it rolls out.

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Problems And Their Solutions

The new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are among the top five Android smartphones to date. They have top-end specifications, robust software, excellent camera features, and, of course, the artificial intelligence that Google included in them. However, the devices are not perfect. Since the launch of these phones there have been some problems related to some of their functions, and if you bought one of them, you could be experiencing one of these annoying situations as well.

In case you have any inconvenience related to your Google Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL, we have made this guide where you will find everything you need to know about the most common problems of the Pixel 3 line, and how to solve them.

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Photos Are Not Automatically Saved

Several users have reported that after taking a photo with the camera application, those photos are not saved, which means that the image could disappear forever. That is a significant problem and one that seems to be quite widespread, as you can see a lot of complaints on social networks and sites like Reddit.

The problem seems to be related to the way Pixel 3, and Pixel 3 XL handle the internal storage, and it occurs specifically when users exit the camera app before HDR processing is complete. Fortunately, this means it can be fixed with a software update.

For now, the only way to avoid losing a photo is to keep the camera application open for a few seconds after the picture is taken until it is saved.

The Music App Shuts Down When You Open Google Camera App

Some other users have reported that opening the Google Camera app while listening to music causes the Music app to close in the background, stopping the playback of what you were listening to. That is another error that seems to be related to memory management in Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. In the same way that they are the previous problem, the only real solution right now is to wait for a software update. To look for an update, go to Settings -> System -> System Update and make sure you have the latest version of Android.

Your Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Is Locked With The Verizon Network

That is a situation that makes many shake their heads wondering how this is possible. What happens is that Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are exclusive Verizon phones, which basically means that Verizon is the only operator in the United States with the right to sell these devices.

However, some users reported that when they bought the Pixel 3 from Best Buy, in order not to have to deal with this problem, they found that it was also locked to work only on the Verizon network, which means that users who bought the phone could not activate it on another network.

Fortunately, it appears that Verizon, at least temporarily, has fully unlocked Pixel 3. The unlock was sent to Pixel 3 phones via an OTA software update, so you should be able to set up your phone without a SIM card, then update and activate it on the network of your choice.

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Presented Officially During The “Made by Google” Event

One day after the scandal generated by the security breach of Google +, which caused the closure of the social network of the company last Monday, Google has presented its new range of products at the event Made by Google, which was held this Tuesday in New York, United States. The event was centered on the company’s two new smartphones, the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

Just one year after the launch of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Google has introduced its new flagships

The two smartphones, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL, are high-range mobiles that compete with devices such as the Huawei P20 Pro, the iPhone XS, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, among others.

Google has decided to develop the “smartest” phone on the market, a device in which artificial intelligence has much to say, which stands out for its smart camera and other options that make this device one of the most competent in the market.

Google’s new mobile phone features a 5.5-inch OLED screen with 18:9 ratio and Full HD+ resolution. Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 3 XL version has a 6.3-inch display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and Quad HD+ resolution. As for the colors of the new devices, Google launches Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL version in three color schemes.

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL technical specs

After announcing that both versions run with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, Google announced that its new smartphones offer 4 GB of RAM and internal storage of 64 and 128 GB, expandable by SD cards.

Regarding its battery, Google has announced that both Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are compatible with fast charge. While the Pixel 3 goes on sale with a battery capacity of 2.915 mAh, the Pixel 3 XL version boasts a 3.430-mAh accumulator. On the other hand, the company has announced a charging platform (Pixel Stand), which becomes a virtual assistant when the phone is docked.

During the presentation of the new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, Google has placed particular emphasis on the phones’ cameras. While most companies bet on two, three and even five cameras setups, the company led by Sundar Pichai continues to bet on a single sensor system. Google Pixel 3 boasts a 12.2-megapixel rear sensor featuring an optical stabilizer, a f/1.8 aperture lens, and the ability to record in 4K.
