The GTA 6 release date is quite far away from all the PlayStation gamers, but it now seems that another Rockstar Game project could happen soon for PS4.

Rumors are still here about a new Rockstar Game, and people have started wondering what the next project might be, especially knowing that the competition is Red Dead Redemption 2. Many fans out there want it to be GTA 6, but this game has not even been announced, let alone have a release date.

However, being one of the biggest game franchise of all time, people except the new game to hit the market from moment to moment. There are many rumors out there about the next announcement: will it be about GTA 6?

Fans say that it has already been developed, but the latest suggestions show that the game might not arrive until 2021.

Rockstar is unlikely to want to support things that are out of date, so they would probably put it beyond the PS4 and Xbox One.

There are also many rumors out there that Bully 2 will be announced this year, and that it will be available for PS4 and Xbox One.

But what if Rockstar would really drop a surprise game for its fanbase on PS4 before the other new titles are announced?

Fans have said that PEGI has rated L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for PlayStation 4. Right now, the virtual reality version of the game is here for us on Steam and Oculus. And the PlayStation VR is the biggest platform right now on the market, so it would make sense for Rockstar to launch a new Case Files for it.

Keep in mind that this is not a solid piece of proof that a new game can come to PS4. We cannot do anything but just wait for official announcements.

Grand Theft Auto VI has been heavily rumored, and everyone is anticipating locations, maps, storyline and praying for some official news or at least a tease from Rockstar Games. However, we haven’t heard anything official – only that there will be a new GTA sometime in the future, as the team has a ton of ideas about it. But that’s all. Well, until now…

The sequel has been rumored to take place in different locations, such as South America or even to return to Vice City. This popular map in the franchise was added in the first GTA game that soon became a standalone game. It even got a prequel four years later: “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” – 2002, “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories” – 2006.

GTA VI – Project Americas

An insider from Rockstar Games said to Inside Gaming (YouTube channel) that the sequel title is codenamed “Project Americas,” which could mean that this is the main location where the game will take place.

The term ‘Americas’ point towards the possibility that the game could take place in made-up locations from the US and South America. In other reports, we saw that the US part of the map in GTA 6 would be represented by Vice City, writes EconTimes.

While fans also considered London as a good setting for the GTA 6, Rockstar Games lead writer Dan Houser stated in an interview that a game set in the UK would be awesome, but not something that would be a GTA game:

“I think there are plenty of great stories we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them – I just don’t think it would be a GTA necessarily.”

GTA VI: Release Date

As for when the GTA VI will be released, looking back at the distance between the previous installments, GTA V was launched five years after GTA IV, which means we might see the game being released in 2021 or even later – in 2022. Until then, fans of the franchise can play the online GTA, which keeps getting new content and events.

Last month, Game Spot noticed Rockstar’s job listings showing that they are looking for a team that will create “next-generation worlds for some exciting upcoming projects.” One of the jobs was for a vehicle artist, a MoCap tools developer, and a technical face developer to “help research and develop new technology for future titles.” All of these future titles could mean a GTA VI and probably a Red Dead Redemption 3, which will be just in time for the future PlayStation 5 and next-gen Xbox consoles that should be released in 2020.

Because Rockstar Games has its focus on something else, Grand Theft Auto fans need to wait longer for the sixth edition of the game. The game developer is all caught up in the development of „Red Dead Redemption 2”.

Even though it is still long ahead of Grand Theft Auto 6’s release, there is a lot of information on the internet and predictions made by expert gamers.

An estimated date about Grand Theft Auto 6’s introduction on the market is worked on by gaming experts. The publication and development of the game publisher’s DLC packs are its primary focus taking into consideration the reveal of „Red Redemption 2”.

Before setting a release date of Grand Theft Auto 6, there will be a flux of updates for the game already released. If we make some simple math, the sixth “Grand Theft Auto” would be out by late 2020. Rockstar Games also confirmed that there would be no release in the next year.

Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 users received a false notification while playing that the sixth edition of the game will be released in 2019 so Rockstar Games needed to confirm whether it is true or false.

In order to do that, they replied to an inquiry from social media. A player asked on Twitter if the notification speaks the truth an this was the company’s answer

“This is a hoax made with the use of mods and not an official message or statement from Rockstar Games.”

One of the most significant Grand Theft Auto leak so far is its location and setting. Some game insiders, according to Otakukart, believe that Chicago, Mexico City, the ’70s Vegas and parts of Southern America will be introduced to the game.

Regarding the characters, some old ones might be kept, but there will be sure introducing new faces. Rumors said we should also expect a female protagonist who is going to be a first.

We encounter fake news everywhere, be it about persons or about games. There’s an unknown reason why the Grand Theft Auto franchise is the most popular target of these fake news. Probably because of its popularity. Or probably because the developers take their time (which is a lot) to release new games. There are on the internet rumors about GTA 6 since GTA 5 was released, and we understand the excitement of the players. But we think that this time it went too far. GTA Online practically swims in pop-ups which are asking people of they want to pre-order GTA 6 in 2019. This smells funny to us.

Rockstar told Twitter it was all a hoax

Truth be told, we understand why many people believed this whole thing because it must be true if it appeared in-game, right? It’s not like this is a YouTube video which was bad edited. But we think that people got too exited too early. Rockstar has made its plans clear on Twitter, after having a dialogue with one of the players. The developers said that the Flyers are just the idea of some players who are controlling the game with mods and that it isn’t what they had in mind.

We are somewhat impressed. This must have to take a lot of time and patience. However, we’ve seen many rumors about GTA 6, and this one is the poorest of them all.

What we know for sure is that it’s not just a dream– GTA 6 will make its appearance at some point. It’s probably still in developing as we speak, but we don’t think that they got past the conceptualization stage. We don’t know for sure if it will hit the market in this generation of consoles. If you ask us, it probably won’t.

Since its release in September 2013, GTA 5 has been nothing but a success. The game has a large group of fans and its popularity doesn’t seem to decrease with passing time. With the later addition of GTA 5 Online, a multiplayer version of the game, Rockstar received countless rave reviews.

The success of GTA 5 Online

The growing demand for the new title of the GTA series amongst fans is not a surprise. Especially considering the fact that it’s been five years already since GTA 5 was introduced. The continuously high level of popularity of GTA 5 Online also makes it more likely that Rockstar will want to take advantage of it and significantly increase the company’s profit.

For now, the publisher is trying to keep GTA 5 Online as fresh and enjoyable as possible, by releasing new updates and content from time to time. At the moment, this seems to work just fine and the game still attracts new players. However, it is expected that in the following years this trend will be reversed, which will leave no choice for Rockstar but to release GTA 6.

We have no doubts that it will take a significant amount of time to develop a game at least as good as GTA 5. But how long exactly will we have to wait?

Estimated release date

The fans of the GTA series have been speculating about the possible release date of GTA 6. Judging by the way Rockstar usually launches its new titles, this would most likely be either 2020 or 2021. However, since the amount of work required to surpass GTA 5 has to be enormous, we would say that 2022 is the safest prediction.

So far, we haven’t heard anything from Rockstar that could give us a hint regarding the estimated release date of GTA 6. We hope that the producer will give us some kind of update on GTA 6 in the near future, especially since there seems to be a strong curiosity amongst fans.
